    Haven't tried to map anything yet, but I'm glad you have this here. It looks like it will be fun and I'll be able to do this with ease very soon. Great tutorial.

    I was looking everywhere why it wasn't saving my drum pad maps. Thank you so much! It's really convoluted and the manual doesn't explain it well.

    Hey, Could you help me? I followed this and I have the sounds I want However I am still hearing a Piano note every time I hit the pads. I have been going through this manual and I can't figure it out and I have a concert coming up next week.

    1:19 I know the documentation calls the -/+ buttons C3/C#3, but they're actually C4/C#4.

    Hi John. I'm writing from Chile, and I like so much your videos. I have the Nektar Impact 88+ like yours, but I loose muy serial number. I try many times to download the driver to use in Cubase 12 but without the serial number it's impossible to download. My question for you is if I can mapping the buttons to play, stop, etc, and mapping de faders and knobs to control the parameters in my Vst? I really apriciate if you can help me.

    I was looking a way to set the pitch wheel to a half tone instead of the default whole tone. But I can't find it even in the manual. It seems you can´t change it

      Hello!
      That’s because you have it in low power mode. You need to go into the setup mode and hit low power mode, I think it’s G#2 on the keyboard then turn it on by pressing the + or - key, I don’t remember which note that’s on, and then press enter which is C6 I believe.
      It should then make your pads light up!
      Hope this helps!

    Hi thank you for this helpful video. I am still having trouble saving the pad mapping to the pads. I am trying to play the piano sound in the GarageBand library while I have drums presaved on the pad mapping but the pad mapping will not stay so when I go to play the piano on the keyboard the pads also play the piano instead of playing the resaved drums, do you know how I can save the drums while playing the piano? Thank you so much for your help and savviness.

    • @Johnmunstudios
      @Johnmunstudios  2 роки тому

      Hi Ava,
      I don’t think this MIDI keyboard can do that. The pad map will only save the notes you are playing, but it won’t remember the sound you are using. Therefore, you really can only play one sound at a time, either drums on the pad, or keyboard on the keys.
      I hope this helps!

      Johnmunstudios okay thank you for clarifying. I’m wondering, how would I do a live performance type of thing then if I wanted to have piano and drums? Or is this not really possible with this product and it’s more for creating different beats and progressions that are engineered on top of one another in production. Do you have any recs for products that are made more for performance? Thank you so much

    hi I was just wondering, are you able to use this keyboard by itself without a computer device just like an electric keyboard? or must it be plugged in through MIDI to make noise.

    • @Johnmunstudios
      @Johnmunstudios  3 роки тому

      Hello,
      This is only a MIDI keyboard. You need a computer to generate sounds, here is a review on the keyboard where I talk about it.

    See this is great but how do I map my keys? I use fl studio and when I play anything it’s just whatever sound I’m selected on just at different pitches, I can’t get different keys to play different instruments and pads to play diff sounds

    is there a way to change the midi channel on the pad so it's also not triggering the same notes as the keybed?

    • @Johnmunstudios
      @Johnmunstudios  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Carl,
      Unfortunately no, one MIDI channel for the entire keyboard and pads.

    hi nice explained, do you know how to get ther first split zone also octave higher cause manual says only about hole keysboard, but not about splitted zone octave up or down.

    • @Johnmunstudios
      @Johnmunstudios  3 роки тому

      This keyboard is very basic, I don’t think you’ll be able to split the keys and split the octaves. I have not used that function very often. If the manual says you can’t then I assume it’s not able to split octaves.

    • @johnnyxthemacnifient5333
      @johnnyxthemacnifient5333 3 роки тому +1

      @@Johnmunstudios i know a bit more now about this keyboard and there are 3 splits zones one can use and wit the transpose 2 buttons you can set octave 2x higher or lower, so that works. i am ad the moment communicating with nektar for how to use with live and till now i can use the sliders and knobs to control instruments and tracksliders without mapping them in live. so looks not so basic to me.

    Thank you for the video. I linked this midi to my main piano. How can i make the midi play a different instrument and the man piano player a different one. Say i want a piano sound on the midi and maybe a saxophone sound on the main. How can i do that.

      Debes hacerlo en Combi (hablo de korg) donde en el canal 1 dejas el instrumento que quieres tocar en el master (korg) y en el 2do canal pones el instrumento para el host (nektar) entonces en la configuracion del 2do canal cambias a midi 2 y el nektar lo pones en midi 2, asi lograras hacer sonar los 2 instrumentos desde 1 fuente, saludos

    Nice demo Johnmun. How do you compensate for expression since there is no slot for an expression pedal.

    Is nektar's pad cannot be push? Or maybe mine was damaged? Please help me anyone who knows 🙏

    • @Johnmunstudios
      @Johnmunstudios  2 роки тому

      Hi!
      That sound like it could be your pads are damaged. Try giving it a factory reset,
      With the keyboard off:
      Hold Octave Up + Octave Down, while holding it down turn it on and hold it for 2-5 sec longer then let go. The screen should prompt a message that it was completed.
      I hope this helps!
