The audient id4 MkII is out and so far it has gotten really good reviews, but how does it compare to the original id4 and if you already own an id4, do you need an id4 MkII.

I got a id4 a year old in totally perfect condition at 135$,so bought that.....audient is still the best in sound,very good review 👌

I feel like the mkii is slightly more open, has less “harsh” frequencies , but it’s only subtle … it’ll make a big difference after mixing with compression tho

Now I have tested both, id4 mk1 and mk2. It is clear fo me, that mk2 in every point is better: output sound quality - better, mic preamp - better, control panel with loopback - better, phones output - better, usb-c - bettter too )) so it is a major upgrade in quality, even without looking at the specs. I thought that my adam monitors where not well defined but it was audient id4 mk1.

i listened with the zen dac v1 and hifman sundara's and i can hear the improvement in the dynamic range. it's very detectable; the voice has much more clarity and bite to it. the original id4 sounded good but I felt like some the crispness was muted a bit.

Good review! I have one question: i just bought a steinberg ur22c (same price of this one) and in my opinion the input volume of my beyerdynamic 880 Pro B.E. 250 ohm Is not enough at max.. should i change the audio interface with this one? What do you think about? Thank you.

Pretty much difference to sell mk1 and buy mk2 for the differences in preamps quality. Maybe they are so much different in audio outputs? I'll tell you soon))

Thank you for the valuable comparison. I want to buy the Audient ID4 MKII to fully power the dt770 250 ohm, do you think it will do the job? And regarding the c type usb, do you mean that the MKII works best with for example Mac Pro (type c) since it is has the c connection and does not need a hub?

I would say it works best, I think it’s just the port they decided to work with since devices are moving in that direction. Meaning there is no quality difference. From my usage it worked fine with the 250ohm for listening, but, in the end I ended up getting a 80ohn pair because since I do voice overs I usually have to record at a lower volume that I listen to, so I found the 250ohm not ideal for that because I needed more gain.

@@LoKnows mmm.. I am a voice artist too and I will be using it for editing and mixing, I have the dt770 and unfortunately won’t be changing it soon. My current setting was focusrite, so I wanted to upgrade to Audient Id4, after I heard fellow reviews saying the pair well together and id4 fully power the 250 ohm... so you think the 250 ohm does not work well for voice actors?
