Buddhas path is path of critical analysis, examination and inquiry. Poor chap got into the path of blind faith, no questions entertained, no comparative studies.
This is fantastic -I believe that our tradition flourishes by us sharing our life journeys and being open and willing to share what that transition from "being a person in the world" to finding the true path to happiness is or has been for us. May all happiness and joy be fulfilled 🙏🏼
I started visiting a kadampa centre recently, and i hope to attend more and delve deeper into the beauty and peace of buddhism. I'd love to take a similar path to this :-) As a woman, I am curious if ordination would work differently though.
It depends what sect you want to ordain in. Zen and Tibetan Buddhism are the most female-friendly from what I know. The speaker here is a Tibetan Buddhist.
Hi there, why don’t you have a chat with the teacher at the centre you’re attending? In general it’s best to take your time and consider this carefully as ideally your ordination will last a lifetime - so not something to be rushed. In the Kadampa tradition we make no discrimination at all between and male and female. Ordained nuns and monks are treated exactly the same.
@@KadampaLeeds Of course, I wouldn't rush and it's something i would consider in 5-10 years time. Thank you for the response. I will be attending a Thai buddhist temple closer to me to learn more and I'm looking forward to it.
If you’re interested we have centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Williamsburg and Long Island. As well as a big temple upstate. Check out: www.meditationinnewyork.org www.kadampanewyork.org Have a good day!
@@Gavin_Francis did you watch the movies titled "the Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns"? You will find a gangs of zombies chanting with blank look in their eyes.

Giving up endless stress, anxiety, and the rat race is in fact a no-brainer.
