Solo Bushcraft Camp in the Rain - Fire Cooking & Bed Building
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 гру 2017
- I head out into the woods on a rainy day to spend the night on a bed that I craft and cook some delicious food over a fire.
I get dirty and wet but still have lots of fun.

Your cooking and camping skills have came along way since this video. Keep up the great content!
This was AWESOME! I am a little late to the Posa FunCraft party so, I admit, I very much missed seeing Monty in this video. I greatly appreciate the links you provide in your newer videos to get me to your other adventure videos. Your easy going, fun attitude and honest instruction while you practice bushcraft is very enjoyable. I am learning a great deal from you. Thank you. :D
You're welcome!
You and Joe Robinet should get together and go on a camping trip. I love watching both your guys stuff.
yes! these 2 are my favourite outdoors channels to watch :D
I watch him too, he’s awesome just like Matt
Yah forsure!!
I just stumbled upon him I like watching him too! But ya gotta love Monty and Matt
I found Matthew & Monty’s channel because of JR so I’m appreciative of it but I find myself watching a lot more of Matthew. Can’t beat his laid back optimism. I think he deserves as many subscribers as JR has quite frankly. He certainly earns it. I think JR has benefitted a lot from being a recognizable reality tv personality. If Matthew had the same opportunity his channel would probably explode as well. And he’s the type of guy who most folks would enjoy seeing do well which is always nice too.
I appreciate the way you stay within the moment. You are only talking about what you are doing with each step of building the camp. It is very enjoyable !
Still in the hospital and still watching Matthew Posa and a smattering of Wooded Beardsman, such a good distraction from life. 👍👍👍 EDIT: I should say rewatching MP and WB for the umpteenth time, probably at least 5 times for this video alone! Nope, I'm not a loser, I just knows whats I likes!
2:45 love that you had to cross the river to set up the camera, cross back to set up the scene and then cross to get the shot! lots of effort in your videos, i love it!! ^ - ^
Drone, right? That's what a lot of the Bushcraft folks use.
I was wondering how the camera got there
I love the effort too.... he is awesome
NO MONTY=NO WATCHY..JK, i watched anyway, Monty makes everything better though. ha ha.
I Agree. WHERE IS MONTY? Or, at least the Monty VOICE!!! Lol.
GREAT video Again 👍.
Same here. You know how hard it is to find a rough collie in the land from down under? Very rare even with the Internet.
I was so surprised not to see Monty! When did you start taking him?
No Monty..🐶
😓
Look at the upload date. I think monty was still a little pup at this point.
No fun without monty the best puppy ever.
Monty is the star, Monty has his Human to make him camps and dinner
Oh I don’t know. I think Matt pulls his weight. Be hard pressed to find a more positive attitude.
I love leaving comments on old videos. Thanks for entertaining my dogs while I go to the store. We both love your videos.
The best part of this video is the breakfast shots. It makes me want to cook the same thing at home in a spirit of friendship. Hey, any reason to eat bacon and eggs is a good enough reason!!
"Had a big debate on how much bacon I should bring you know I'm like, four pieces should be good- Yea you know, six pieces would be good too........So I brought eight." Story of my life! lmao Loving your videos thanks for the entertainment while I work!
Hahaha! There is never enough bacon! Glad you enjoy!
ALLL the bacon, THAT’S how much damn bacon! ALLLLLLLL!
And so it was in the beggining . Matthew went bushcrafting in the woods and saw that it was good and so the great story began .
Binge watching all your vids again , currently in bed not well. Always makes me feel better watching you and the dogs 😁
Enjoyed video. Much respect for sticking it out in cold rainy weather!
Excellent! I like that you show your bloopers and just laugh about it. Love your humor!!
Mony's Videos Always try to!
first bushcraft. you walk through the forest like a pure natural. you are good and son you will be a proficient
That's true about Joe Robinet. I liked that he was an average Joe, chilling and drinking a nice cold one every now and then. Now, all that fame, and recognition, not the same anymore. You, Matthew, you're still my favorite funcrafter. All about being yourself. Stay that way bro. That's why I subscribed.Great Character
I hope i stay the same, I'll do my best!
As a fellow outdoor adventurer, I look forward to your Sunday releases. In anticipation of your pending release, I went back to the very first "bushcraft camp". Wow, so much has changed and how awkward it was to watch. Ha! You have evolved exceptionally well as an outdoorsman, videographer, storyteller and camp chef! I am a huge fan! Just ask Brodie, my yellow lab who talks just like Monty! Cheers!
Under different usernames I've been with this channel since the beginning. This is at least my 6th run through of all of Matthew's videos. I can't believe it's already been over 4 years. Where does the time go? Bittersweet, but this channel is well worth it
And still had time to play with the dog and keep him warm you're definitely a good man love love love your videos
Cheesy bacon goodness ftw. I swear there is some law of physics that makes food taste better if cooked over a fire outdoors. Those venison skewers looks great and the breakfast goulash even better. Thanks for sharing.
Mad skills. Raining the entire time and you found dry tender, and fire wood like a pro. I would pick you for my survival team anytime. Good job.
Oh BTW..........another seasoning to try...........Tony Chachare's Original Creole Seasoning. "Great On Everything"..........say's so on the can...........lol
Good to hear! Thanks!
@Matthew Posa EEK, I guess you have to have the right taste bud for that creole. I tried it, and it was awful plus leaves a nasty taste in your mouth afterward yuk yuk.
The Montreal steak seasoning is awesome. I use it on everything, so very good. Your Dad was right on about that lol I been using it as my secret weapon when I cook bahahaha every one would tell me how awesome my food was and ask me what i would use bahahaha I would say it's top secret hehehe.
Great videos, as always
😊 Thanks for sharing.
Awww, your first time...cool to come back after watching all your later stuff.
I like your videos and I usually don't subscribe but I do enjoy your dog, dogs now, and your down to earth humor...I SUBSCRIBED
Happy to have you along!
no much equipment, no shows and very realistic. good job bro. Love from Turkey
Now this trip looked very fun. Enjoyed the video keep up the good work be blessed
Now how to spent my evening ... a movie, TV show, gaming, going out, cinema, bar ... ?
Nah man I go youtube and watch a guys video of him building a shelter in the woods while it rains for a solid hour.
memo to myself: Go outside more often
and get some Montreal steak seasoning
Yes to both!
Where was Monty? Miss him! Not to hurt your feelings but it just isn’t the same without that sweet furry friend,
Same
Matthew that bed is AMAZING AND AWESOME SO SWEET
Thank you for spreading the holy message of Montreal. Now I can’t live without it haha! :D
Youre attitude during all this amazes me and inspires me in all aspects of lufes challenges. God bless you Matt. Youre dog monty is very intelligent. Thanks for sharing youre life.
:D
Matthew I like ur videos. The way u eat during camping, it makes me fell hungry. Thanks for making lovely videos, it's very relaxing
Being your first Bush camp, it was very much FAIR, indeed.
Thanks for the slow-mo. ax wood chooping effect***
I really enjoyed this video. I like your attitude and your approach. I like watching people learn these skills and you did a good job with your first tarp camp. Ive been doing this stuff for 20 years now and im still learning. Seems never ending LOL. I even learned something from your video. Good job and cheers from Idaho.
I hear ya! I am always learning something new on every outing!
Been fun watching your progress and where you get your opening! Love it all. Do miss Monty. I do always learn from you. Glad you have fun in the outdoors!
Montreal steak seasoning= paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic, onion, coriander, dill, red pepper flakes.
This makes me want to eat some right now. I'd make my own if I didn't already have 10 lbs of this stuff that I bought in bulk over the years.
Subbing just cause there is no weird EDM music in the vid.
Hahaha!
All this time I was thinking and watching those two other CAMPING IN THE RAIN videos of yours almost every night before I got to bed and then I bump into this one ( third camping in the rain video) . definitely made me smile.thanx bud for always making these awsome videos, great work
I watch those 2 as well. love the rain camping videos
Camp site is AMAZING AND AWESOME
Nice job on your first bushcraft camp site!
As usual, the food you made all looked so delicious. If you ever get an eggshell in your eggs, use one of the half shells from your egg, and scoop the broken shell out. It works great.
The weather was excellent, except for a little bit of rain. Waking up to snow is always awesome.
I loved that you "washed" your hands with leaves and dirt! My family and I have been doing that for years while we're camping.
As always, I enjoyed the video, and thanks for sharing.
Not a bad tip! It was a wee bit wet but yea always fun to wake up in the snow. Little chilly. It's the best way to wipe away nasty stuff and parasites! Dirt aint gonna kill ya but raw meats can!
I'm watching this again in 2020. It's really impressive how much better you've gotten not only with your camera work, but with your blade work as well. I still suck!🤣
Great job! Keep getting out and enjoying nature at its best. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks! I will! Video coming tomorrow!
Monty! Your hooman ran away in to the woods by himself!.. Maybe you need to put him on a leash😉😉
Matthew, what a great initiation into bushcraft camping! Superb job with the raised bed, tarp set up, fire reflector and the meals looked awesome! I agree that the Montreal steak seasoning is a must have in your cook kit. I have to have some salt, too. Hey, do yourself a favor and pick up one of those inexpensive air bellows from Amazon or ?, either Epiphany or Jonhen. Blowing into the fire that closely can be detrimental to your face. Man, I love your sense of attitude, sense of adventure and mostly your wonderful sense of humor. Love your videos!
Thank you! Montreal really is the best. I would but I don't want to bring out a piece of gear just for blowing into the fire. I have been doing that my entire life and don't think I will be able to stop! Glad you like them!
good job, like it that you know you don't know it all and learn with the rest of us
👋😆Matthew! You did a fabulous job, with this being your first bushcraft campout. And that meat🍖though, you got me hungry now.😚💪🌳👍😋
Loved this adventure. What a great job you did on your camp.
Love your videos!!!!!!!! I love camping its always been my thing. Happy adventures 🏕🚣♂️
Ur whole little camping space is gonna be dry and warm in no time... Very nice
Liking these video's and how you're embracing the first time adjustments and challenge's..
Keep having fun he done a lot better than A lot of the so-called experts
Thank you! I'll always do my best to have fun out there.
Even in the wet rainfall r u able to start a fire. Watching u trying I had no doubt u would b able to. Ur definitely a firestarter 🔥. I miss u playing with ur fir babies but enjoyed it all anyway. Ur the man 👍
:D
Love the intro to your videos bro. Nice. Is calming and relaxing
Awesome video thanks Matthew 😊
You are very entertaining ! Always a fun watch .
Really great video Mat. I will continue to check out your channel. Real informative stuff
It's nice to see how far you`'ve come....keep it up!
I love Bushcraft videos .. and learning new things 👍
It's always good to be safe than sorry. It doesn't hurt to take something for protection. I think you're good ppl. It's good to have fun, and have your dogs with you. I'm just looking out for you . Keep up the good videos.
INSPIRING! Thanks a bunch. :)
Bushcraft with Chris Pratt lol keep it up been binge watching your stuff
Hahaha! Such compliments! I will keep at it!
First the Fire. Then the IKEA bed!
I'm trying to watch without Monty, it's hard!
Same here.. Miss that cuddly bunny. 😞
Matthew I like the idea of fire reflected
Love the intro!
LUKEwhatUUP Thanks a lot!
Matt, you should sign up for the show, Alone! I love that show and I think you can totally do it!
Yeah great idea!
Looks like he would never run out of things to say.
Yeah, Monteylessness is hard to cope with. I mean, you're perpetually fun to watch, Matt, but the synergy between you and your Monty is the cherry on top. When you have a Montey, you must bring your Montey everywhere he can reasonably be brought.
You did it !
Cool video.
#Funcrafting !!
I really enjoy all of your videos.
Thank you.
The Most AWESOME BREAKFAST SO MMMMMM. MATTHEW
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Legal é a simplicidade que o Matthew enfrenta um camping , Valeu 🏕️🌲🌲🏞️🤠🇧🇷🌎🌏🌍 Abraço
Great video man, thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
yum looks good I love the outdoors more than being inside
A very good, enjoyable video! I particularly liked your way of conceding with the viewers. Keep it up...
The next thing you need to learn is "leave no trace" unless that was your private property. Scatter those logs and cover the fire area. Other than that, you did a good job getting set up and a fire started in the rain!! I didn't think you'd get the fire going, but you did good!!! A warm drink might have helped you get warm faster, though.
I usually leave no trace but couldn't help leave behind my first bed and fire reflector hahaha. Thank you! I was pretty warm the whole time but in mornings I am always a tid bit nipply.
I don't blame you. You did a really good job. Can you go back there and use it all again? Thanks Matthew - great videos!
Nice Job for your 1st one
Thank you!
Nothing like a major weather change overnight.
It'll catch you off guard!
Awesome videos! We're addicted in our house lol keep em coming 👍👍
moss is great for cleaning everything great video loved it
Iva Hill Thank you very much! It sure works great, I never mind a little dirt gettin' on me haha.
Love the video keep up the good work
Love your humor. :)
Sonya Armitage
Matthew weldone on your first brushcaft
About loosing your bush craft knife ,Tie a Bright orange ribbon long enough to the handle for you to see, when you test by throwing it away on the ground and then you will see it and also a lot easier to find.I know that it works for me when I'm out on the trapline.
Good idea!
NIce video Matthew. By the way, keeping a sheath on your axe while pounding stakes is not good. The blade of your axe will cut into the welt of the sheath and the blade will hit the rivets. Well done on lighting your fire in those nasty conditions, if you make a raft of split wood to build your fire on you will find you have less chance of steam and moisture extinguishing it in the early stages and you will build a bed of coals a lot faster. Keep the videos coming bud you have a great presence in front of the camera and I am enjoying your adventures very much.
Thank you very much! That actually makes a lot of sense! I will definitely pound my stakes without the sheath on now. I will definitely keep em' coming!
Great video my friend, keep up the goodwork..
You got me at " Inhale this Goulash " Hahaha laughed for hours! Love your videos no matter how old they are. ☺
Hahaha! Glad you like em!
我非常喜歡你的野營⛺️分享,和狗寶貝之間的互動~~超級療癒。
Great job. Wow. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed that vid! Keep 'em coming. New subscriber.
Just caught this, and subscribed...good job, sir!
Thank you! Glad to have you along!
Matthew I like idea of features stick so Awesome
nice job...picked great weather for your first! :)
Thank you! Yea it sure was wet.
Nice intro 🙌🏻 great video. You’re doing really well for go pro filming! Can’t wait to see how your channel grows!! 😊
Thank you!! I'm getting a new camera soon! I'm so excited!
great video as always...
You need a small log base for optimum fire lighting! The ground is cold and wet!!
I'm going to tell future Mathew how much he has learned
Very good video. Especially for a first tarp effort. That's worth a sub.
Thank you!! Glad to have you come along for the journey!
The simplicity was awesome...Just loved it !!!!…..Cheers from Inverness
This was definitely entertaining!
Glad you liked it!
Matthew Posa You have a good sense of humor. Good luck with your channel and adventures.
