Yep. He was crazy and evil before he was infected. When Jack says Lucas isn't a killer he either didn't know what Lucas has done to Oliver or he was in denial about what and who his son really was.
I liked Lucas in the game. He was more interesting than the other villains in the game. He was like a southern version of Jigsaw. He seemed to have had the "gift" but also seemed in complete control over himself. I thought that was interesting.
Lucas Baker is by far the most unique and intriguing villain in Resident Evil. The majority of RE villains aren't naturally crazy in this manner. They're crazy in a way of where they want to take over the world. But Lucas is crazy in a serial killer way. I think the only past RE villain that's close to Lucas is probably Alfred Ashford.
It's probable Jack doesn't even know about what Lucas has done, as he includes "nor my boy, Lucas" in his preminiton scene with Ethan when talking about his family aren't killers.
that's been bugging me for so long! it's the only part that really doesn't make sense. also the scene where he pulls off his nails, and turns to evelin saying: But evelin... I'm just showing him, I'm just showing him that not everybody wnats to go back' - so she still must have some sort of control over him
Kaiser King she can prolly easily kill him if she found out what he was up too, thats why hes pretending. she easily kill zoe and zoe still had a mental link even with the serum injected in her. zoe was begging her that "she would be good, I promise" before being calcified.
BarryBear Marguerite was dead by then and controlled by Eveline so why wasn't she there ? it bugs me so much. I get that Lucas was 'cured' in a way but Zoe was nowhere near as infected as her parents and she was there. Marguerite was almost as infected as Jack but was absent 🤔
the way jack kept saying my son is not bad makes me think the whole family was in denial from the start about his insanity and that he was always favored over zoe.
“OKAY GUYS SO I HAD JUST ORDERED A B.O..W GUYS AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT ITS GONNA BE CRAZY GUYS SO MAKE SURE TO HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON AND SUBSCRIBE GUYS”
Cause it will regrow back like Lucas was tearing his whole nails off and they grow back even Ethan his hand was saw off Zoe only staple it and he was using his hand like it never been cut off perfectly same with his leg cut off he put his leg back in his socket use the medicine but he still shouldn't be able to walk and he walks and run perfectly fine furthering their generating abilities.
He's infected for sure, him sticking body parts back on was stage 1 of the E type infection. Seeing the Hallucinations of little Eveline is stage 2. Final step would be her gaining control over him, good thing we kill her before that can happen. So i guess you're still infected at the end during the Umbrella scene, kinda makes sense why they'd want you and Mia, a surviving sample of the E virus could be handy.
He's very tolerant to pain before being infected he doesn't show pain when Mia was stabbing him to death or thrown against walls or even getting his hand sawed off he very resistant to pain.
Idk why but at first i thought he was under her control and that that line was his real self snapping out just long enough to beg Ethan to stop him. But i was wrong 😅
Does anyone else find it weird that Zoe said both her father and Lucas were on their way but oddly enough it just ends up being a boss fight with Jack in his mutated form? Well at a certain point during Jack's boss fight, the barn goes up in Flames for seemingly no reason. Did Lucas set the barn on fire knowing that his father would survive the blaze but Ethan would either die from the fire, the collapsing infrastructure, or the smoke inhalation?
Eveline is also a victim, of the experiments that mad scientists gave her birth upon. Take any child, give him or her the ultimate power and the child will behave exactly the same way out of pure selfishness since they do not know a thing about repercussions.
Mabye Eveline knows Lucas is not under her control and doesn't try to control him because he still acts as part of the family. During the scene where he is talking to Eveline he says "not everyone wants to go back to the way things were." I'm probably wrong though
I kinda agree to this. based on that video, Lucas is in full control of his body and it seems he's the only logical one to talk to Eveline. And oh, Zoe seems free from Eveline too.
Gabriel [REDACTED] they still have a mental link, even with serum. even the files, the correspondence he has with tenstu he says, i cant believe she hast caught on. lucas doesn't want lose awesome regenerative powers but at the same he doesnt wanna end up like his parents, mind control and without will.
I love that a lot of the story in this game was hidden throughout the environment, told through the Baker home itself. Gave a really rich sense of lore to the whole estate, and what came before Ethan came along.
this is so interesting. He's the less infected in the house, but he's actually the most insane person in the game, that's actually cool. Sometimes the real monster is not the ones with crazy form, detoriated body, with scary eyes and bloodthirsty, but is actually in a "normal" human form
I don't think of Lucas as inherently evil. He is more like a psychopath, engineer and mastermind all rolled up into one. The reason I liked his character so much is because of his show of wits. Always one step ahead and never compromised by events that unfold. That is why we never got a chance to get at him. I love it. The Smart mortal trope always seem the weakest among monsters but most often there the most-likely to survive and be the most dangerous.
Lucas was a perv through the whole game. At one point he asks Ethan to find him a girlfriend and in a file Jack talks about how Lucas kidnapped 3 college girls to make them part of Eveline's family but they were apparently "rotten."
one question the internet has no idea about, hopefully answered here: What is the bass music playing heard outside of Lucas's place? That shit is like Nine Inch Nails
I don't know about this...Lucas may not be as Sociopathic as you think. If you look at the scene where Jack is stabbing Ethan in the mouth/face when he refuses to eat the food; you can see Lucas' expression turn to shock and his mouth seemingly wording out "oh no, no no no..." as if he was genuinely concerned for Ethan. (and considering how he said "no not again!" when Jack hacked off his arm it's safe to say he has undergone similar or even worse treatment at the hands of Jack, so he KNOWS what it's like.) It's entirely possible that Lucas was just pretending to be trying to kill Ethan just so Eveline wouldn't catch on to his sanity and her lack of control. I mean think about it, if Eveline ORDERS Lucas to kill Ethan after Marguerite dies, what choice does Lucas really have? If he disobeys her she will likely rescind her "blessing" and instead send her monsters after him to "re-infect him". Plus, Lucas even leaves a video tape showing you how to get out of the birthday trap right out in the open in the hallway and even provides a TV for you to watch it on (and we know it was Lucas who left it there cuz at the end of the tape you see Lucas re-enter the room to save the camera and take it with him. So he was the last one in posession of said tape). So who's to say he wasn't trying to stealthily give you hints on how to escape from his traps so you'd survive and he wouldn't get caught by Eveline either?
TheScaleless there are alot of plot holes in that theory. lucas isnt there to help ethan. he doesn't eat the food because he would be reinfected with evies mind control all again. lucas doesn't fight you directly because thats not his style, instead he deploys his saw traps or has the fat molded after you. besides the traps are intended for the player like clancy to lose no matter what. the video tape are there for you the player to bypass certain death, he even says youre cheating when he goes through that loop hole and throws a explosive at you but ends up escaping when that plan fails. lucas is a bad seed and the shit he does gets jacks wrath especially for throwing marges hard earned human cuisine at ethan or that he brings loose women in the house. theres no reason for lucas to help ethan, he has no empathy for ethan, mia or his family.
Nikita Mugi I think he uses clem fluid it he attaches limbs as you can see at the beginning of the game where Jack cuts off Ethan's leg where you had to crawl over to the clem fluid so I think he uses that.
Kaiden Shingen Now i get the "not again" part. He throws food on purpose so he won't get reinfected from eating it since he's no.longer in Evelinnes control and knows Jack is going to punish him. He also says something about "its that damn cop again". He probably calls the cops so he can have an excuse to leave the table.
Every time Lucas appears in the game, I can't take my eyes off him. He's such a great character. The scene when you watch him on TV after using the red and blue keycards is gold.
Maybe Lucas already knew something about Eveline (with the letters to Tentsu), and was the one "introduced" Eveline to the Bakers. He kept making a fuss for Jack to check the ship.
Resident for Evil That would be really cool. It would be really interesting to maybe see some back story through his eyes. But I read somewhere that you'll be probably be playing as Redfield but I don't know if that's true.

Lucas is honestly kind of a cool RE villain. He’s not up there with Wesker, but I think he’s kind of unique and stuff. A bit of a shame that he died in Not a Hero lol (also did anyone get Birkin vibes from Lucas’s fight in Not a Hero?)
Lucas was a great villain, and a total psycho. It felt SO good to finally defeat him with Chris after all the stuff he did before. Heck, I sympathized with Chris so much everytime he cursed at him. Too bad that they killed Lucas off though. The franchise is in need of a great and memorable villain after Wesker's death. Well, unless they bring back Wesker...
I watched a few of these vids. It seems a lot of research and time went into them. Very enjoyable and makes me want to play through RE7 again ... if I had the time.
If you watch the DLC content, you will notice, that Lucas mentioned the abandoned ship right away to the family, cause he knew, what it was carrying. Moreover when Evelyn starts to take over the family, everyone turned right away, except Lucas, he just lies unconcious on the living room floor, once again indicating, that evelyn couldnt take hold of him completely
IMO Jack either didn't know Lucas had killed Oliver, was in denial about the fact that his son was a psychopath and so convinced himself that it was the infection that turned Lucas evil even though he was evil before it or had a "No matter what he did he's still my son so I have to protect him" attitude about it like some parents have.
"Mommy took me to the Hospital in town They took a photo of my head with a Weird Machine" What does is mean ?? Lucas have Been Controlled by Las plagas Or Some Unknown Mutation Creature ??
Despite not mutating until the Not A Hero DLC Lucas was the biggest monster in the game since his mother and father were good people controlled by Eveline and Eveline herself despite taking control of Mia and the Bakers then sending them out to find more "family members" for her who she'd order them to kill if they weren't good enough and using Mia to lure Ethan to the Baker house to try and make him her dad her time growing up in a lab and being seen as just an experiment made her lonely and want a family. It explains her actions despite not justifying them. Lucas on the other hand killed people because he wanted to and liked it long before the infection.
Hope Lucas is a mastermind in the RE Resistance game with molded and jack or maurgaritte as the ultimate ability. Lucas is a GREAT villain. Nice work on this video
I feel that part of the reason he is this way is to keep Evie thinking that she has him, sure he might actually be a killer but I think his main goal is just survival
Isn't Lucas a victim too? First people made fun of him and treated him badly 'cause of an illness, then they don't help him through it, and now he's forced to run. The real villians in RE is society and business. Always.
No. Lucas was born evil and chose to be evil. That Oliver kid calling him crazyhead doesn't justify him torturing and killing people in deathtraps for sick kicks. He had victims but he wasn't one.
He wasn't forced to run. He ran away after Ethan escaped the trap because deep down Lucas was a coward. That's why in the Not A Hero DLC he spends most of it running away from Chris and killing his men both with his traps and through setting Moulded on them. Being made fun of and treated badly doesn't justify killing innocent people in death traps so stop being such a Lucas fangirl. Fangirls justifying the actions of evil characters because they fancy them is annoying. You can like and be interested in evil characters without making excuses for their evil actions you know.
I'm guessing he just left to join the "third party" that radio was talking about. The only mention of him we get after the birthday puzzle is from that radio near the end saying he's in the mines. And then you run into those traps in the mines, indicating he's been down there. That's about it (and of course, the lab). I'm hoping he becomes a recurring villain in the series, but we'll have to see how the dlc story "Not a Hero" goes though.
PolarBearMusician yea which you never find him. I hope the next one is similar to this in terms of style. I don't think I could go back to the old game style.
I thought he still had Evelyn's infection because when you first see the whole family at the table the first time, jack cuts his hand off and later on in the story he has both hands back? Would that mean after he was "cured" traces of the regeneration could still be in his system?
Let's not forget the most important lore. Lucas took a shit in that one toilet. Every. Single. Goddamned time. He wanted to reset that birthday room puzzle. My god, I love this man.
Lucas wasn't crazy because of "the gift"-- he was just naturally fucked up.
That's what makes him more interesting and one of the best RE villains.
Smurf Killer he has deformity that's why he does that
Yep. He was crazy and evil before he was infected. When Jack says Lucas isn't a killer he either didn't know what Lucas has done to Oliver or he was in denial about what and who his son really was.

"We arent killers, nor is my boy lucus"
Well that didnt age well.
Lucas is my favorite baker in RE7
I never knew.
Lucas would low key fit in Dead Rising though as a maniac.
This is some good content. Nice editing!
If Lucas lives past Not a Hero, I totally expect him to be back in RE8
Plot twist: He's the protagonist of RE8
Rip that idea
Sorry 😐
These videos are amazing Nacho, loving the jazz music during the video.
+Yurick Hunt thanks yurick :)
Wait, if Lucas Baker is okay then how does he regenerate his arm when Jack cuts it off during the dinner cut scene
He still has mold powers, he just doesn’t need to listen to Eveline
Dude i randomly found your channel.really good videos and nicely produced.Keep up the good work
Lucas is my favourite :)
I love Lucas way too much, he's my favorite Resident Evil Character ever. He's just too much.
So essentially if nothing wrong happened to Lucas (the Oliver thing and the gift) Lucas could've become an amazing inventer
And the award for the worst laid traps goes to......
Lucas Baker
You should do a lore video about Rebecca Chambers. I think that would be pretty interesting!😄
Wow, they really out did themselves on this one. The story, every character is amazing.
"Mommy took me to the Hospital in town
They took a photo of my head with a Weird Machine"
What does is mean ??
Lucas have Been Controlled by Las plagas
Or Some Unknown Mutation Creature ??
she took him to a doctor when he was a kid and they did an x ray on him
They x rayed him to check if he has a tumor
Despite not mutating until the Not A Hero DLC Lucas was the biggest monster in the game since his mother and father were good people controlled by Eveline and Eveline herself despite taking control of Mia and the Bakers then sending them out to find more "family members" for her who she'd order them to kill if they weren't good enough and using Mia to lure Ethan to the Baker house to try and make him her dad her time growing up in a lab and being seen as just an experiment made her lonely and want a family. It explains her actions despite not justifying them. Lucas on the other hand killed people because he wanted to and liked it long before the infection.
I think Umbrella Corp or Tentsu will keep Lucas on as an employee.
Very wrong
2:16 "Keep it clean, gentlemen, we have rules!" ( immediately pukes all over the floor)
I always felt bad to Lucas TBH.
Hope Lucas is a mastermind in the RE Resistance game with molded and jack or maurgaritte as the ultimate ability. Lucas is a GREAT villain. Nice work on this video
He reminds me Vaas
Movie Killer yessssssssssssssss
So when Ethan was in the green dream jack said "mah boy Lucas isn't a murderer but he's free from the control of eveline so Lucas is just crazy
"Stay single"? Lol, ok
I feel that part of the reason he is this way is to keep Evie thinking that she has him, sure he might actually be a killer but I think his main goal is just survival
He reminds me of Andrew Scott's Moriarty...
Lucas gonna be that quiet kid in school.
Hey can anyone tell me the name of the jazzy piano song playing in the background, I find it very relaxing.
+Jacolby Rogers it's called "so far away". I found it on freesfx.co.uk :)
SinglePlayerNacho Thanks my dude, great video explaining his origins and lore because this is kinda confusing haha
Jazz header collective Martini time
The best twist in the game was finding out Lucas was *sober*
Isn't Lucas a victim too? First people made fun of him and treated him badly 'cause of an illness, then they don't help him through it, and now he's forced to run.
The real villians in RE is society and business. Always.
Obey Oe no lucas isnt a victim. there's a difference between being crazy and being evil.
lol no
He's a victim of himself
He can be one of those mad umbrella scientists
It’s Jaystation
I like how evil Lucas was even without the infection
I think I'm slowly getting sucked into the lore of Resident Evil...
Also, what's the music at the beginning of the vid?
*Ethan roll up your damn sleeve.*
I just realized you never fight Lucas. Where did he go???
I'm guessing he just left to join the "third party" that radio was talking about. The only mention of him we get after the birthday puzzle is from that radio near the end saying he's in the mines. And then you run into those traps in the mines, indicating he's been down there. That's about it (and of course, the lab). I'm hoping he becomes a recurring villain in the series, but we'll have to see how the dlc story "Not a Hero" goes though.
PolarBearMusician yea which you never find him. I hope the next one is similar to this in terms of style. I don't think I could go back to the old game style.
Not A Hero DLC
Redfield ( a special ops ) will kill him.
Fight Ostin Fight
Finally I loved the style of RE7 and all its extras!
**Rips fingernails off with pliers** "What Eveline!? I'm just trying to show him! Not everyone wants to go back to the way things were!"
anyone else just realizing the fact of y didn't he light the candle with the other candles
Fake candles
I guess Lucas is the true 7th Resident Evil.
I once thought what if Ethan and I were the same man And my wife would be named Mia. Eventually I come to conclude that the theory is wrong.
I thought he still had Evelyn's infection because when you first see the whole family at the table the first time, jack cuts his hand off and later on in the story he has both hands back? Would that mean after he was "cured" traces of the regeneration could still be in his system?
did you say stay single?? I have been all my life and still am lol!!!
Let's not forget the most important lore. Lucas took a shit in that one toilet. Every. Single. Goddamned time. He wanted to reset that birthday room puzzle.
My god, I love this man.
