Playing the base game courses and then playing the BCP ones felt really weird and out of place with the different style of graphics, with the base game graphics the track now looks like it belongs on Mario Kart 8.
To be fair, for it to really be cohesive they’d need to also address the ways in which Base 8 differs from the BCP like adding half pipes to base game. The fact they’re in the BCP but absent from base 8 feels really strange. Plenty of 8’s both nitros and remakes could have had half pipes implemented very naturally if they existed then. For the two to really feel cohesive I think half pipes would need to be added to base 8dx tracks (or removed from BCP ones, but I think that’s easily the worst of both worlds). But yeah you’re right it does feel like playing two different games, that’s because in a way you kind of are. The BCP tracks are basically playing tracks from Mario kart tour, just using 8dx’s engine and mechanics.

Dood, Ive seen some good mods in my day- but this is a whole nother level. Maybe little biased cause Shroom Ridge is amongst favorite courses; but what youve done is insane. You 110% managed to make it look like it fits base game. Seriously I can't stress enough, insane amazing work man

Well done. My personal opinion is that Shroom Ridge had a decent model from the start, but you did a lot of work on it so props to you! I love all the details like the ivy and the transmission tower. For me personally, I find that the view out of the tunnel isn't great because the texture on the rock being so big and blurry makes it look like there's some sort of ultra focus effect on the bush (see 1:04-1:05). The original BCP has an ad there, maybe that can fill up more space better. (I personally miss the lake as variety so I'd move it there but deleting a cliff is much work and I would hope you can make some change). Still, the rest has lots of good texture choices. I was wondering what the tunnel tiles would be, and although your choice was unexpected, it does the job perfectly.

I plan to redo most of the BCP tracks, except for the tour tracks because they are difficult to deal with Some tracks will be heavily reworked (such as maple treeway or mushroom gorge), but it's also possible i make smaller changes, like setting Waluigi Stadium to sunset as this track already looks good But yeah overall, unless the track looks almost base-game (which is rare in this dlc), they will undergo the shroom ridge treatment for sure !
@@BCPReforged oh I'm so hyped for that Maple Treeway remake. It looks fine in the BCP version but there are a ton of texturing choices that kinda piss me off so I'm excited to see what you'd add to the course.
@@NTEB-vl6tg Yes, and even modeling wise, not a huge fan of the houses. But what triggers me most are the low poly trees in the background that are actually quite close to the player, but there will be some big changes, though i will try to sort of keep whatever good bcp brought to this map

I do kind of miss the seaside overlook that the original had (I think it could have looked really nice with some updated graphics) but the big valley with Mount Rushmore-esque statues works really well too! Great work on this, I found this track really fun to play and the music is a banger so it was always unfortunate it had some of the worst graphics of the BCP (which is saying something).

Yes, they replace the DLC tracks and iirc CTGP has its own cups, so if they didnt touch the DLC tracks this will work just fine
