Are either of those memory kits Dual Rank? Not dual channel, but dual rank. For instance, your 8GB Samsung RAM was labelled at 2x8, which is dual rank. If the 16GB kit is single rank (marked 1x16), and the 8GB kit is dual rank, that might also be a factor in the odd results.

Hi @Darojar0 and thanks for your comment mate. Yep, it's the minimum anyone building or buying a system in 2024 should consider, although there's a strong argument for 32GB, even for a budget build. I was surprised that the 16GB kit used in this video performed worse than the 8gb kit in the titles I tested. Cheers, Bob.
Hi @VertexPlaysMC and thanks for your comment mate. I have used OBS in the past, and yes, it does impact the framerate when it has to rely on the CPU for encoding. Now I use an external capture card which records to a separate machine to avoid this. Cheers, Bob.

I just ordered a thinkpad yoga with 8 gb of soldered on RAM and an 11th gen i5 with irisXE graphics, since it was only 125$ (I wanted to use it for basic gaming and drawing with it's active stylus). It's nice to know that 8gb of ram is still usable, hopefully it runs well with the integrated graphics also sharing system RAM. I think the 2 gigs of Vram on your GPU might be saving grace for the 8 gb kit and 8gb might be worse even on really good integrated graphics.
