    Okay this is too surreal. I literally just started building a Frankenstein's Monster of a PC build with a Quadro K620, and even did some research online about it's performance out of curiosity, only to open YT this morning and be greeted by this lovely video XD

      Hey @xPLAYnOfficial, cheers mate. I hope it was entertaining and informative, what are you planning on running on your K620? Cheers, Bob.

      I managed to get an eGPU working on an HP Stream 11 so who knows. Should be fun to see how much performance I can get with this over the iGPU of the Atom that's in the laptop by default. @@yesterdaysram1375

    honestly it's a fantastic card for emulation it also does a decent job at running these games some of which such as Battlefield 1 are just too much to handle but its performance in Battlefield 3 was surprisingly good

      @yesterdaysram1375  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi @Fernando-Rodriguez mate, I'll be keen to see how it does in emulation, a video for later on. Yeah, it did OK, and for £15.00 it's not a bad buy at all. I was expecting a little more as I was very impressed with the GTX 750 1GB, but we've seen how GDDR5 improves performance. Nearly 60fps in BF3 isn't too shabby at all, would do even better in BF4. Cheers, Bob.

    I tend to hunt these down for cheap NVENC H.264 transcoding. They really work in a pinch. I had one before I moved onto a P2000 to support H.265

      Hi @PatientXero607 and thanks for your comment mate, I hadn't thought of that, I'm currently using a GTX 1050 for transcoding but the K620 would be a neater solution. Cheers, Bob.

    Dang! good stuff, thanks for the vid!! although that cpu bottleneck gave me a really bad feeling, for some reason i felt performance would "feel" way better if the bottleneck didn't exist. While we are already seeing the gpu maxing out almost all the time, that bottleneck does produce frametime graph spikes which makes gameplay feel bad.
    I have a low profile Radeon R7 250 2GB, got it for almost 15 euros too, i dont game with it on 1080p, but it did solid frames especially that I had it paired with an i3 9100F and 16 gigs of ram, and most games are on an SSD.
    I made that build for people who might've wanted a solid work pc with a relatively okay graphics card.
    It ran fortnite, gta 5, csgo and valorant on okay frames.
    Good channel, definitely subscribed!

      Hi @eddyboicollins, glad you liked the video mate, and thanks for subscribing!
      The high CPU usage in the video comes down to recording with OBS in software, benchmarks were taken on a second run without recording. Although, I agree I need to add a better CPU, and more RAM. I have an i7 6700, and more RAM, which will be going in at an appropriate time. I'm waiting for a Coffee Lake low profile machine to come down below £50.00, that might take a while.
      Your R7 250 machine sounds cool, I bet your faster CPU and additional memory really helps with performance.
      Cheers, Bob

    months later the P620 becomes a better choice, it blows the 750ti out of the water while consuming only 30W and has NVENC support which comes in handy whenever I need it.
    and I only got it for about the same price

      Hi @bennybouken and thanks for your comment mate. I have a P620, and agree it's a better card all round, however, in the UK, I see them going on eBay for about 35-40GBP, I paid 40GBP for mine. I've see the Quadro P400 come down into that price range, I picked one up for 20GBP, but I'm not sure if it will beat a K620, we'll see soon! Cheers, Bob.

      Hey @GamerGeezer and thanks for your comment mate, yeah, it'll do well with older and indie titles. Found it just a tad too slow for more modern stuff, which was a shame, it's probably the DDR3 memory. Cheers, Bob.

    You can see that in overwatch the first round is always kind of a mess because shaders are being compiled and some sort of this so the CPU is at 100% usage. That's the bottleneck, the performance will be much better after that first round

    • @yesterdaysram1375
      @yesterdaysram1375  5 місяців тому

      Hi @hellcat3981 and thanks for your comment mate. It might be CPU, the benchmark run was taken after the video, so not sure if shaders were still compiling. Both cards had trouble with Overwatch 2, so it's some other part of the system that was common to all. I do have an i7 6700 to go in this system at some point, I'm sure that will help. Cheers, Bob.

    • @yesterdaysram1375
      @yesterdaysram1375  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi @GoYiTsU and thanks for your comment mate. According to TechPowerUp, the R7 430 has the same specs as the R7 250 I was using, but a lower core and memory clock. This would make it slower than the Quadro K620, but the specs on these low end cards seems to vary. I'm interested in seeing what an Oland card can do with a 128-bit memory bus AND GDDR5 memory. Cheers, Bob.

      @@yesterdaysram1375 Oh i see, i didn't check specs so i assumed that the 430 was better, i mean higher number in the same series mean better, but is not the same in this case.
      Hey check out the R9 350, That is a really good low budget card (the people's card xD) I think it is better than the k620, but i'm not completly sure cause you can't find the exact specs of that card because it's a mobile and desktop hybrid that almost nobody knows.

      Hey @yesterdaysram1375 mate, yeah AMD recycled many of the same GPUs through the HD 7000/8000, 200, 300 and 400 series. I had a look for the R9 350. the specifications sound identical to the HD 7750, I've got something with the same Cape Verde GPU and I'm looking forward to testing it. Cheers, Bob.

      @InSaynUFC Nice one mate! I'm liking the K620 more and more in comparison to other low-profile budget cards. Didn't seem quite enough for 1080p, but maybe 900p will give a better experience, and there's always 720p, which really isn't too bad once you get used to it. Cheers, Bob.

    there are only 2 sensible use cases of this card i can think of:

      Hi @macedonianlad and thanks for your comment mate, while the K620 will do those things. After looking at a more expensive low profile GPU that performs worse, the little K620 doesn't look so bad at £15.00. Maybe need to drop the resolution to 900p. Cheers, Bob.

    So mines coming in the post by Thursday. Only different thing is that I’m gonna use all low setting or maybe a little high but mainly low and have 16gb ram? Would that run Fortnite alright or would it be terrible? I was gonna get a gt 1030 but that’s out of budget for me.

    • @yesterdaysram1375
      @yesterdaysram1375  8 місяців тому

      Hey @dq2rk144 and thanks for your comment mate. When I tested the K620 in Fortnite it did OK, with an average frame rate of around 50fps. The percentile lows were better than an AMD R7 250, but you might want to drop the resolution to 900p or adjust the scaling to improve FPS. Run it from an SSD, if you can, and your 16GB of RAM will help. If you've got a better CPU than my i5 6500 you should be alright. Cheers, Bob.
