Ah man,we got out of milk 30 years ago. (No money in it) Switched to beef.Best thing we ever did.. Oh,and at the time we were get 35ppl.. Farmers can only dream of that now.
Nice video, put in the electric scrapers to all the sheds as soon as you can, long term you wont have the time to be doing that manually with the bobman
That's a very handy little machine 👍🏼 Just wondering if you fitted a slightly wider scraper would it be any more beneficial when scraping? Happy New year to you and your family.
Ya we have tried making up a bigger scraper before, wasn't successful but must try again. It would have to be switched just for the that job as its could stay on it all the time
Very good video. Liked how you did a very basic job but did it really well. Can see why you found it satisfying. If you ever watch the SaskDutch Kid, he has a big tire cut in half as his scraper. It seems very effective. Look forward to arrival of new born calves. I know you do AI to breed your cows. I wonder if you keep a bull around as a safety net?
Very weird to see a cowhouse without roof. We had a cowstable were the cows ate outside, without a roof but rain made it a wet mess. You don't have as much rain as in Easern Europe?
@@MCMilkingIt by using plastic roofing different colors and different sizes are available by using roofing that's one best plastic or ms sheets are available in my area u see my shed bro??????
Wash it after every time if you don’t will last long will rot how do find the yard without no roof In heavy rains how do the cows react will the tanks not fill up with water
Ya we try to wash it once a week. The outdoor cubicles work very well, cows act just like they do in the field and are very content. We have plenty of storage to account for dirty water
You should do a video on all the old buildings ,looks like a lot of history there
Great. Video. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Yeat.
Great video I always wears a good quality mask when liming cubicle s lungs so important to keep safe
Pozdrowienia z Polski.

Are your cows staying outside all winter whatever the weather ?
Yes
Be great to see u doing bookwork management of drying off vaccination and calving records I recon ye would have a good system

Cubisan is great stuff. Teat end condition is great versus hydrated lime
How long does a brush last? How much snow do you get in a typical winter?
2 or 3 seasons maybe. We might get less than 1cm of snow that would stay for about 6 hours maybe 2 or 3 times in the winter. So basically no snow

Thanks for the comment 👍 we do all AI so no bull. Myself and my father do the AI
How long does that take daily? I’d definitely be trying to attach a wider scraper somehow!
Not sure maybe over an hour, ya working on making up a wider scraper or else a tractor and scraper
@@MCMilkingIt a tractor scraper would be way handier maybe even a small tractor like a John Deere 2520 but that machine is very handy
Do you find the co op source products good
Ya we get a good range of there stuff and we're happy enough with them 👍

We find the grass silage isn't affected by the rain

Go away and get a box type scraper made up for the bobmam
It'll halve scraping time
When is the calving starting?
1st February
What was the cell count like last year
It was 110 for the year up to the end of November so probably just over that for the whole year
why do u use lime ? can we use lime hotter climates or in regions near the equator ??
Lime increases the pH of the bed to kill bacteria. I presume you can use it in hotter climates but I'm not sure
If any ask ya how many u milking, and u don't want to tell em,say the same amount as this time last year
Just say you milk all of them !!
If that yoke broke down you be rightly fecked, whole operation stopped
Haha got a flat today on the back wheel at the end 😅
Dairy master can install scrapers in a matter of hours
Why are your holsteins so small?
They are Friesian X Jersey cows
