Remember that customer service can most definitely help get you a job! I have my A+, Net+ and sec+ and one of my co-workers used to be a bartender and works the same service desk role as me. His experience with customer service really shows when he takes his calls.
Facts. Customer service helps.
How can you get customer service expereince as a disabled Final year IT university student ?
@@q2l867 I would volunteer at school or talk to your professor.
CompTIA is a very large respected industry. I currently have the "Trifecta" (A+, Net+, and Sec+) Also, CompTIA is vendor neutral, meaning they don't just focus on one device or brand. I'm currently studying for my Cloud+. Cloud+ is getting a lot of recognition lately. I'm interested in cloud computing.
You’re honestly better off specializing one cloud platform. Although, learning one will essentially translate to others. No employer looking for a cloud engineer respects the Cloud+ certification. They will often require associate level certifications in AWS/Azure/GCP
I only got the CompTIA Core Trifecta A+, N+, Sec+ along with Linux+ and MOS 2007 IT certs because they were FREE through the Illinois WIOA job training grant (10K value) from MicroTrain in 2011. I was already working in the IT field for well over 15 yrs (since 1993) even at this point but was pressured to take this track from the MicroTrain Counselor because well that's all my measly 10 grand could buy! I wanted the better advanced MS or Cisco tracks but could not afford them as it was really only a money play for MicroTrain back in the old days when FOR PROFIT tech colleges (Westwood, Everest, etc) were all the rage. Obviously all of these old certs have long expired but don't matter to me anymore as they're all entry level certs anyway.
Really, all you need as a newbie to the IT field is the A+ cert as that's what you'll need to land that critical first Help Desk job, and it's only then that your REAL LEARNING begins with hands-on experience and mentoring. The hardest part for a newbie to the IT field is landing your first IT job generally in Help Desk or PC/Device Repair. Sec+ becomes important when applying for those coveted Fed govt contract jobs that require a security clearance. CCNA would be the BEST choice for a Networking cert over N+ with the MCSA cert being a close second as it focuses on Microsoft Windows Networking.
Thank You Kevin, very informative video!
this channel a GEM ty bro
Thanks good information
Kechtech you the man!
I had 6 years at an MSP no certs starting now I’m a senior network engineer yes got all comptia and CCNA but started with nothing I simply showed them I knew more then others with their certs at the end of the day it’s a digital piece of paper 😊😂
I don't think we need to learn how to walk if you are already a runner, but if a company want you to prove that you know how to walk, then you'll need a way to prove that you know how to walk. The same goes for certification. Sometimes if you don't have a must have certification to check the box, you aren't getting hire, unfortunately.
Kevtech, I’ve got A+ but I still can’t get job in London it has been struggle for me.
I just got my IT degree and Associate in Science transfer degree for CS because I wasn’t sure. Im using Microsoft’s deployment lab kit and Azure free account for labs
Kev, what are your thoughts on CourseCareers? Have you heard of it? Particularly the IT course.
I'm affiliated with them. I know the ceo of the company. Its legit.
@@KevtechITSupport oh wow really? Been thinking about going through the course. Thanks for replying.
Hey Kevin, I just started the qualys cyber security course thoughts? Also, a video idea/request can you perhaps go over some of the core skills/programs/day in the life that one would need to have down when trying to start as a cyber security analyst?
That depends where you work. You may see a security analyst use splunk or something else.
@@KevtechITSupport gotcha, but you would still benefit from the foundation of how to do those tasks right? it would just be with a different type of software?
@@mariotorres001 yep
@@KevtechITSupport thanks man 🤘
My English is poor, but I want to make a friend with you, may I?
Hey Kevin what's different between Compita Server + and Mcse, but the Mcse certification is no longer available, does Compita server + cover the similar topics
Never taken that cert.
im brand new with no experience, and I'm trying to get into cybersecurity. Should I start with comtia A+ or Security +?
Should learn fundamentals first before going into cybersecurity. Than focus on what particular area of cybersecurity you want to work.
What about ComptiA Server+ ? Thoughts?
I personally never taken it. But I heard good things about it.
@@KevtechITSupport thanks for the answer Kevin. You rock
I just watched your video, but I have a slight issue with it. While CompTIA provides good quality training, it generally lacks practical application. This is why it's not widely recommended. If they included practical assessments within their training, I would say go for it. However, the main reason people opt for CompTIA certifications is mostly due to the brand name.
Now, let's talk about Google certificates. They are quite good because they offer both academic and practical training within the syllabus. This makes them superior to CompTIA certifications. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that many employers still require a bachelor's degree alongside the relevant prerequisites, although this requirement varies depending on the organization.
However, I'd like to shift gears and discuss your training course on Udemy. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly good. It seems like you simply copied what you did on UA-cam and used that as training material on the Udemy platform. I'm sorry to say this, but it wasn't very effective. I think you should reconsider how you approach teaching in that regard.
People ask me to put it on udemy because they don't want to see UA-cam ads. If you want to see the same videos for free. You can go on UA-cam. The course is intended for people who want structure without having videos all over the place. As far as comptia is concerned. You may or may not need it. It gets bad rep because of some of the information. If your new, it does help. I also have been giving out my course for free every month.
What do you mean? Do you not do the labs? If so, do you only do them until you get them right, or do you do them until you can't get them wrong? If not the latter, you're not spending your time wisely.
Can I start a home lab with a laptop?
Whatever you like. Laptop, azure, aws.
@@KevtechITSupport thanks for the reply much appreciate it
is google it certificate worth for starting?
It helps with fundamentals but you won't see it on a job posting. Comptia a+ would be in a job posting. I recommend you do both to get well rounded if you have money.
hi.. jesus loves you... and he died for you... these things might be temporary but jesus is the way ,the truth and life...
The only issue I have with CompTIA certs is that they are over priced and are getting harder each year
It’s like compTIA doesn’t want you to pass any test.
Just a big time profit organization
Yep
Great info as always my guy 🫡
Thanks
