Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour ¼ cup rice flour 1 cup sugar 2 TSP . Cornstarch ½ TSP .salt Mix well Take another bowl 4 egg whites wisk it together Create a little well in the middle of the dry ingredients ¼ cup plus 2 TSP. canola oil 1 TSP . Vanilla extract Add some water Baking tray and parchment paper
Lyndsey Pierre No, there's no additional baking. While warm, the cookie will have a tendency to straighten out again so the muffin tin is used so to help keep the shape.
Great taste and texture. The fortunes (using normal printer paper) got spotchy with grease from the cookie. Reducing oil by half and replacing the extra volume with water fixed that issue. The cookie was a little extra crunchy/hard, but still great. Make sure to get that batter thin when pouring it on the baking sheet! Also use a silicone baking mat, for sure!
1. Combine dry ingredients. Regular flour, rice flour, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Whisk dry ingredients together. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites together until frothy. 3. Add oil, vanilla extract, water to dry ingredients and mix together. 4. Add egg whites and mix until smooth. 5. Scoop 1 tablespoon of the mixture onto greased pan. Using the spoon or a spatula, flatten it out by swirling from the outside to inside making the cookie to be about 4 inches wide. 6. Make 6 per pan, although it is easier to work with smaller amounts per pan. 7. Place into oven at 350 degrees for about 8-10 minutes **KEY STEPS. MUST FOLD WHILE ITS HOT** 8. Flip the fortune cookie over and place fortune paper in the center. 9. Quickly fold cookie in half. Use a cup or the edge of the hot pan to fold the cookie over the edge of the cup.
Also, for the computer thing. I’d prefer to buy it in store, like the nearest Microsoft store. Idk how long it will take for it to be shipped in stores but yeah just make it quick and for information I’ll just ask the people in the store about the shipments. Thanks!
I'm about to ask out a girl with a fortune cookie. Our first hangout was at a Panda Express. The fortune cookie said "Good things come to those who wait." Been about 6 months and I'm ready to make it official. This time it will say "Will you be my girlfriend?" Haha the things we do for love 😅
Hi! Thank you for making and sharing this video!! How long will the fortune cookies stay fresh and how should I store them to prevent them from going stale if I don’t eat them right away? Thanks!!!
I just made these. I really think I should get a silicone liner. I couldn’t get them off of the wax paper until they were a bit cooler and I think I made them a bit too thick. Still ate the heck out of them though. Next time it will be perfect. 👌🏽
i did this and a few sec after i took it out from the oven ,it get hard too quick ,like really quick. I followed the recipe and the tutorial ,and now i have no idea what i did wrong .HELP ME!
Every time I try to make the cookies, the shape gets distorted in the oven and I also have trouble getting them off the parchment paper. Any tips to prevent these things from happening?
You can use palm oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil or grape seeds oil. Olive oil has a strong olive taste so maybe it's not appropriate for dessert recipes :)
I no longer have finger prints. They were so darned hot that it was impossible to handle the cookies to fold and mold them. Epic fail for me. In the video the chef handles the cookies without a problem. What in the world?
Yes, it does work and they taste delicious! Here's the actual recipe with written steps, www.popsugar.com/food/Homemade-Fortune-Cookie-Recipe-33814151 :-)
Yeah, it definitely works and they taste good, but the chef in the video must have teflon hands! It hurt like a mother and even so, I found it very difficult to form six cookies before they got too hard.
Hey, if anyone tried, can someone tell me hoe they taste? I want to bake these for my friend but since i've never tasted them i want to make sure they taste nice :D
Fun Fact:San Francisco's The fortune cookies were made by a San Francisco bakery, Benkyodo. David Jung, founder of the Hong Kong Noodle Company in Los Angeles, has made a competing claim that he invented the cookie in 1918. San Francisco's Court of Historical Review attempted to settle the dispute in 1983.

It is how to make the real thing. Stupid

I made fortune cookies using your recipe and I made it! Thank you very much.
Really great that's reassuring
when you're baking and the recipe says you have to make a well in the flour, you know your into some real serious sh*t

Or wait... Does the recipe call for water, but instead she uses vanilla exstract?
Nanna Trytek She already poured vanilla extract before she poured the water in. So I guess the recipe requires both.
Omg! It looks so easy!
