Crocodile more have an evil look like that of a T-Rex or Dragon.A much more frightening look especially when approaching their prey.But they can be defeated by much stronger forces either hippos or even the Killer Whale who would make rings around them.

It's because they are cold blooded and don't have the energy to waste. If they use their energy they have to get the kill, or they risk not having enough energy to try again.
There's a 120 year old 18 foot saltwater at a Crocodile Park in Australia. If he wasn't missing the end of his tail and part of his snout. He'd be just short of 19 foot / 6 metres.
They are actually great pets if you get them as babies

I saw a 60minutes segment with Anderson Cooper in which he was SCUBA diving with them. When you are down in the water,away from the surface, you are not food.its really interesting.
So even though crocodiles kill thousands of people each year, the number of crocodiles killed by people each year exeds that number.

Salties are more likely to eat large animals like us. I don't think it's aggressive necessarily, they just big and hungry

If a crocodile has a big meal, it might not eat again for a month. So, when they go for their prey, they mean business.
They have no hesitation because they are armoured and they lead with a huge jaw full of teeth. They are such tanks that they have little reason to be careful.

The answer is simple. They don't have the consaciousness of mammals and are merely a system of automated responses, no different in principle than the mechanism of a car engine.

I don't think you can call "abnormally aggressive" a predator who can wait up to a whole year to eat a single prey. Crocodile aren't especially aggressive they just have a very specific hunting method which is embush, they stay immobile until something comes very close to them and they are incredibly patient. It's the opposite of aggressivity
