Are you kidding me??? Dude how do you even hear all the notes??? How do you arrange a song like Stargazers for solo piano and keep the atmosphere of the track?! ...And then you play it so seamlessly! My mind is blown. You sir, are a true musical virtuoso, and possibly from another planet... that is the only logical conclusion. Congrats man! I will never reach this level. I don't think it will be worth while for me to check out the sheet music, my physical and mental health will most likely not be able to bare it. :) None the less, great admiration and respect for you.
+Dirk Claassen Aw, haha, thank you so much for your very kind words!! I appreciate it very much! I know Australia might be a fair distance away but I assure you it's still Earth! XD I just got here with my music because I spent many years working on my skills, lots and lots and lots of listening to music and figuring out how to play it on piano! And there's no reason you can't do it too if you spend the time! Thanks again!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my video! :D
You have to have a very well trained ear period, this reminds me of many classical pieces I've played, I wanted see just how well it played and how good the technic was, very good, well done sir. Your playing reminds me some what of Keith Emerson has played.
Oh my god... I am pianist and keyboardist... And I play some NW stuffs... And you did this one with real honor to Nightwish... Awesome work! Keep it up :)
They played this live last concert of theirs I went to, everyone went nuts lol. Very nostalgic, amazing job man, can I request "Nightwish - Bless the Child"? looking forward to more of your work.
OMFG this actually made me tear up a bit. One because Stargazers is one of my favorite Nightwish's songs and you captured it so damn flawlessly and beautifully in the piano. And two cause I'll probably never be able to pull an arrangement like this hahaha (I'll still read the sheet for the benefit of doubt XD). Regardless of that, superb job man! Thank you so much for sharing this! Makes me very very happy listening to this over and over again!
Whaaat! That's the most badass cover I've heard of this song! Amazing how you preserved the feel of such a complex ensemble arrangement like Stargazers. Kudos to you! 😁🎹🤘
Glad you enjoyed!! I've played piano since I was 5, did lots of music things in school, then did a music degree, and now I make a new piano video every week. :)
Thank you Andrew for this brilliant and outstanding cover! You did so great job! This song especially means a lot for me as it makes me feel so happy and so excited every time when I listen to it even when something in my life goes wrong at the moment. Since the very first chords it grabs you by the powerful sequence of mathematically perfect rhythms and notes resulting in the fascinating melody and don't release until the very end. It somehow tells you: "Don't worry, everything is going to be OK. Throw away all your sadness and bad feelings. Be brave, dive into your fantasy and let the music lead you exploring the deepest pieces of your mind. Find something that you always wanted to find." Just a great and magical composition from Nightwish.
+ChebRollerMisha I'm so happy to hear you feel that way about it! It's a little like that for me at the moment too. Music is so good for taking away those kinds of feelings. That's why Nightwish is so special.
One of the rare instances in the world where yelling 'fuck!' is caused by an extreme positive reaction. This was incredible, especially how the left hand is able to just run across the keyboard as the distances between keys, the pressure needed, the separation of finger movements, has all been routed through the brain for years and years of practise and practise. And that's not even getting into the fact that this was done by ear. Intellectually, I understand how someone who worked with music their entire life would become talented in it to this extreme degree. I'm a software engineer by profession and a lot of things come easily to me that I see many others struggle with. Being this good at piano and musical arrangement comes with the territory of having the dedication to put time into it, and the genuine love for the musical arts themselves. Yet I feel a bit sad watching this as well. My dad got me a keyboard when I was young too; not 5, but close. I didn't really get into it. Granted, I was doing some small-level programming stuff even at a young age, but still I had plenty of time, if I had chosen to, to work on keyboard and to understand music theory... I just didn't. Youth was wasted on the young in this case. I've started forcing myself to practise about an hour every day with that same keyboard my dad got me. Starting simple, like Castlevania and Banjo Kazooie tracks. Trying to play without looking at my hands, getting a feel for note distances. But at the end of the day, I work in software, have other projects, and I just will never have the time that I could have had had I started young, nor the superior knowledge sponge of a young brain. Anyway, what all this is leading up to, the point I am trying to make, is that Fluttershy is my favourite pony, and if anyone says otherwise I'm going to hit them with my umbrella. Also the Nightwish font is Shelley Volante, not Nelson Script... which I think is the font used here but I am not sure. But seriously this was an amazing rendition and even if there is no conceivable way I will ever be able to play anything like that assuming immortality is not invented, it's still an inspiration.
Woah, I don't get to read such a detailed comment very often, but thank you for taking the time to write it! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I put a lot of effort into them so it's really wonderful to hear how you enjoyed it! I've done some coding and software stuff so I really respect what you can do because I know it's hard and involves a lot of problem solving, not to mention the different languages you have to know! I also want to learn other things but there's only so much you can focus your efforts on at once. It's so cool that you picked up your keyboard, keep playing your favourite music and you'll improve! And trust a software engineer to have a fave pony, haha! I found Nelson Script through a Google search, and I had it wrong this whole time, damn. I'm glad you liked the video though! :D
My detailed comments are a direct result of the fact I don't comment much because when I do I have a need to keep talking, which can get annoying after the first 67 times. Also as evidenced by how long it took to respond, I get distracted easily with billion other things all the time. I fear I likely won't ever be good enough at piano, so ever dream shall it remain, but I won't stop practising it even as a hobby. Sometimes I get on fire and do well and sometimes I just suck. It can be rather mentally taxing to keep making the same mistake (especially in terms of misjudging the distance to move the hand) no matter how many times I try to actively teach myself that proprioception that I need. Which is totally a word and counts in any standard ruleset for Scrabble. I wish I could just look at a note and know exactly where on the keyboard it is from where my hand currently is; right now my thinking is relative, like a note looks a fourth away, so try to feel a fourth away... oh but remember the key.... having taken Music Theory in the past I do understand the concepts of keys and chords and scales and such, but putting it into practise in order to sight read is very difficult. Ever since I stopped looking at my hands I got better at reading music faster, but if I could, for instance, start recognising chords, even when chopped into bits, as well as their inversions, it would probably allow me to learn pieces faster and more effectively. Right now a lot of the bass lines for the songs I play love octave jumps, or (I don't know the technical term, Music Theory was years ago and I replaced a lot of that learning with Software Engineering and Underwater Basket Weaving) something like a chord in the key of the piece starting from one note, adding the base of the chord one octave up, if that explanation makes sense. Anyway, remember when I mentioned the need to keep talking? I'm going to stop now. I'm also curious as to what forms of software design you did, mainly because I am curious.
This is so badass and amazing! I wish I had the ability to make such incredible arrangements of the songs I wanted. Anyway, outstanding job! Greetings from Mexico :D
I used this video to convince myself that in the live version of Planet Earth, Tuomas inserted in his solo the first part of chorus from Stargazers. I thought that I was going insane, but nope. That's how on point and clear your playing is in this, that it stuck with me and I used it as a reference instead of the original song :)))) Bravo
amazing!! every new transcription you do completely blows me away even more than the previous one. thanks for sharing this with us! do you plan on doing Sleeping Sun at all? I'd love to see your take on it.
I'm looking to start learning to play the piano sometime soon and hearing these covers is getting me really excited. I know that it will take a really long time and a lot of dedication, but I can't wait until I'm able to play my favorite songs like this! Thank you for your videos!
I have the same piano! You made an incredible sound out of it! the best version I've heard in my entire life! incredible! the essence of Nw in all your interpretation! you are amazing! God bless you! I subscribed to your channel! you are an amazing musician! Could you do the same song but with a piano accompaniment version for the voice? ❣️ thank you! a hug from Argentina from your new Chilean follower! 🇨🇱🇦🇷❤️
Thank you for the kind words! I have other projects I want to focus on, so I don't plan to make any more versions of this. But I'm glad you like this one!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! :D
Daniel after 6 yrs can you play stargazers?
The nightwish's most difficult song to play by vocals or even single instruments but you nailed it .... Thumbs up to you
May the most powerful piano cover of this song that I've heard! Awesome arrangement and skill! Congrats !!
+Florent Joannès thank you so much!!
This new version is simply unbelievable. I stuck in the rain of August... I mean, absort. I'm very surprised by this arrangement.
When he comes to a real challenge, he takes off that band on right hand and unleashes true power.

Great. it's my favorite. good job. I'm downloading right now.
+Lourran Carcheno Coco That's awesome to hear!
The full beauty of sound and melody, harmony and rythm. .So very much more satisfying the the minimalist 2 and 3 note "popular" music of today.....
This is so great ! Your arrangements are better and better, I'm really looking forward for every new one !
+Gofrsz S Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to bringing you more arrangements!
Dude. Woah. What kind of music education do you have? This is incredible.

Охренеть. Вот это оранжировка - просто супер!
WTF :D?! WOW! So f*#°ing good! And the more I listen, the more I love it. I'd sell an organ to play like that.
+Anissa Ivone Frisoni Aw, thank you so much Anissa! Don't go sacrificing your musical instruments though, then you won't have anything to play! ;)
Ahah, now I have everything I need to play but I lack skill. I'm not sure I'd sell a playable organ, but maybe a kidney for a bit of talent... I've got two after all. Anyway I can play the first measure! And with a bit of patience I'm sure I could pull the ten seconds starting at 3:40 off. :P But I trust you when you say this arrangement is omg to play and I haven't given the Poet up yet. One impossible piece at a time.
Awesome 😁
Please can you do BLESS THE CHILD?? It would be awesome!!
