      Teighlour Swyftte lol tbh for about 5 minutes I liked the body changes but now that I bought one and been driving it for a week, I'm missing my 2017 more and more, and liking the '17 less and less. Oh if only I could have my '15 back. ☹️ This car just feels like a family car trying to look like a sports car.

    Some people are just looking for space, comfort and fuel savings, that's what pretty much defines this Altima

    • @py1211
      @py1211 7 років тому +6

      I rented an Altima for 2 weeks and I completely agree with those 3 categories that you mention, where the Altima excels. And the cargo area is plentiful makes it a perfect rental car for families.
      But I would consider something else for my daily use, not because Altima is not a good car in fact it is, but for its lack of fun to drive and CVT.

    • @DiwaGalvez
      @DiwaGalvez 7 років тому +5

      Paul if you want a fun to drive midsize that sacrifices comfort and interior size, then get the Mazda6. I'll choose the Malibu or Accord over both, though.

    • @py1211
      @py1211 7 років тому +4

      Diwa Galvez If I have to choose between the two I would go for Malibu as it will have 9 speed auto transmission vs Accord's CVT.

    I have a 2016 2.5L S model, which has no difference to the 2017, and it is awesome. The review is on point with both the positive and the negatives. I love the 39mpg marker. It is very comfortable (although my mother disagree) and drives smoothly on the road. If you want a decent car with decent features, no bells or whistle or other needless features, this is the car to go.

    I bought the SR midnight edition about 1 month ago .. I actually like the altima it's really good on gas and it's sporty looking ... adding tint makes a difference.... I just don't understand why so many people complain about the CVT 🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @MrGpoulin
      @MrGpoulin 6 років тому +4

      Agree with you. Nissan's CVT id one of the best out there, if not THE best, the latest version mimics automatic transmission shifts quite well, and most important it provides THE best fuel economy in the category.

    • @iketanikoichiro3519
      @iketanikoichiro3519 6 років тому +3

      Yea I agree with both of you, my parents use to own a Ford Edge, and almost at the end of our lease the trasmission was hard to switch, and the battery died. Now we have a Nissan Murano and a Nissan Sentra on lease, and we love them

    • @iketanikoichiro3519
      @iketanikoichiro3519 6 років тому +3

      Now I’m a car enthusiast, so I don’t like any automatics, like you can ask me, do you like lambos, and I’m gonna say no because they cost too much for its power. Like I can buy a used Toyota Supra, modify it to the points it’s faster than the lambo, and it will still be cheaper!

    I just purchased a silver 2017 Altima SV; traded my 2015 Altima S (w/Special Edition pkg) in last week. Noticed differences is the '17 feels slightly smaller both inside and out. Idk if it's because my '15 had the Special Edition package or what but I find my '15 was way more comfortable. I find the '17 seats to be a bit more firmer. I also notice my '15 I was averaging 410 miles (mostly hwy driving) per tank. Where (so far) the '17 I'm getting around 370 miles. So honestly I really liked my 2015 better. I only traded it (with a little over 8,900 miles on it) because I was looking to refinance but learned with all the rebates and stuff, my notes would come out cheaper with the 2017's. I guess you really do get what you pay for, huh? Lol

    Hey Zach, can you comment on the Emergency braking? I have heard some of the newer Safety Systems such as Emergency braking can be rather obtrusive. How did this one do you your testing? I had the SV model as a rental while my Nissan was getting worked on and the Blind Spot Monitoring was a nice to have feature and saved my bacon on at least a couple of occasions. :)

      Juan Cabrera out of those 2 cars, I would get the Sonata. Nissans quality has gone down over the years, so your better off buying the Hyundai. If it was my money, I would get a Camry because they have the smoothest ride in the class and they are more reliable. You pay a bit more for a Camry, but it's worth it.

    I'm very disappointed with my 2009 altima. At 68000 km, my roof and its side panels, the hood and the trunk paints are all peeling off and appear to have too much scratches. I even took the 5 year paint warranty. After the warranty, it started to peel. I expected the paint to just fade and not peel. Wow! For sure this is a defect.

    I am not regurgitating traditional wisdom about Japanese vs American automotive reliability because cars from all walks of life are on average more reliable than their equivalent from the turn of the century. However there are some notable exceptions chiefly Nissan CVTs; not all CVTs are bad however the one in current gen Altimas and Sentras are notorious for their pre 100000 mile tranny replacement

    Altima used to be sportiest choice, no longer. Nissans sedan lineup is confusing. I don't see much reason to get an Altima over a Sentra unless you often carry 3 in back. Maxima hasn't really made sense since the G35.

    • @gedaman
      @gedaman 7 років тому

      mfmf100 The Nissan Maxima has way too much horsepower now. If you're looking for a premium sports sedan from Nissan then the Infiniti Q50 is the best choice indeed. Nissan needs to make the Maxima a cushy, soft riding large sedan more like the Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus. Who are they fooling with that "4DSC" (4 door sports car) sticker on the window? I would take the Sentra over the Altima too since the quality has improved drastically recently. The Altima used to really stand out against the competition from 2002 - 2012. Now every midsize sedan has gone into full style mode including the Toyota Camry and Chevrolet Malibu.

      mfmf100 my bff has a 2016 Sentra S. Drove it myself alone to the store once. Don't know if it's because I got so use to the size of my Altima or what but with the Sentra I felt like I was driving a clown car 😂 After a day driving her car I was happy to get back in my Alti! But yeah I can see your point though. Not to mention all over them have the same design; difference is just size.

    • @shellyhebert4814
      @shellyhebert4814 7 років тому

      Ulysses Roman it (base trim) has it. It's just the one in this review it the version where it automatically adjust the speed and breaks if it detects a vehicle so many x feet in front of it. If I recall just the SL offers it. But the base, S, SR, and SV have just plain straightforward cruise control.

    Nissan's new design language is hideous! The previous generation Maxima looked so much better! The previous Murano looked better also.
    The 2016 Nissan Altima doesn't look as good as the 2013 - 2015 model. Hopefully the next generation Nissan models will have sharper, cleaner looking designs. Maybe Nissan will ditch continuous variable transmission too, but I don't expect much hope for that. I would choose either a Mazda 6 Grand Touring or Ford Fusion Titanium over a new Nissan Altima 2.5 SL.

    • @1daful
      @1daful 7 років тому +4

      I actually think the 2016/2017 Altima looks way better than the 2013-2015 models. The tailights, headlights and grille on the new model looks more premium. I should note, I also just bought a new Altima

    I just don't get it. Why people call it CVT TRANSMISSION? The "T" in CVT is transmission already! You don't call it contiously variable transmission transmission!!! Just call it simply CVT or CV transmission or CVT automatic not CVT transmission!
