Thank you for sharing your experience, Brenda. I love traveling vicariously through you and learning of the places you've been. Your sketches, as always, are amazing to me, and I really enjoy the way you handle your watercolor. Also, seeing how lightly you travel is inspiring.
I love to watch your videos over and over looking at the different techniques. I especially love your line drawings. I think of a line as an adventure and how I solve problems as I draw is what creates the interest. I like the large heavier fountain pens as well. I am going to try brown ink and see how it works for me. Thank you for your inspiration.
Mike, Thank you so much! I couldn't agree more. Each drawing is a new puzzle-problem to be solved. Heavier fountain pens feel like an extension of my hand where small fountain pens require I grip tightly. Happy sketching!
Lovely sketches Brenda. I love all those comments and the sketch collage is delightful. I enjoy Brugges very much and also have sketches in my sketchbook. I remember sketching my moules and frites. Must find that sketch again.
It must be so neat and nice to have a journal full of beautiful sketches and paintings. As a beginner I am always afraid to paint in my sketchbook and never finish it xD
Eulili, Don’t be afraid... start on the second page if the first page is too intimidating. Fill it with every day little items and don’t worry about creating a masterpiece. Fill it with things that bring you joy... drawings of your favorite jewelry, a coffee cup, favorite sneakers, a friends face...
You are SUCH an inspiration! So much talent and skill. I love your creations. You remind me that every brush stroke is okay to make. Sometimes it’s quite intimidating. Thanks so much for sharing and for motivating me to paint what I’d like :)
@@brendaswensonwatercolors - No thank you, you have an amazing talent, they way you draw and paint is just stunning, I just love looking at all of your artwork, thanks for sharing it with us... and thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my comment, that's just lovely of you,...
Thanks, Brenda. A lovely city indeed is Bruges. Info at the end on materials and ink were helpful. I usually use Lamy Safari or a Lami Joy but will take a look at the Pilot VP. I have always had concerns about taking ink overseas but apparently you have not had an issue using the bottles that you showed us. Have seen good reviews on Goulet Pens for the Pilot. You likely refill the cartidges or fill an ink converter from this bottles you showed. BTW, I am nearly finished making a sketchbag from that Harbor Freight bag using your ideas. First trip out sketching it worked well. I"ve gone to Emmaline Bags in Canada for the bag hardware that enables me to attach d-rings to each end so I can use a shoulder strap.
It was super relaxing to hear you talk, and I really like your style! I want to grab my watercolors and go out sketching, but I don't like to carry too much things when I'm out so I don't know how would I do it.
Hi Brenda! I have taken two workshops with you but never fail to learn something new from you. I love the idea of the Pilot retractable pen. What size nib do you recommend?
Hi, Thank you for the interest. Once you fonish viewing my UA-cam videos please stop by my website to see instructional videos available www.swensonsart.net
One question about the De Atramentis document ink. Is it hard to clean out the converter from this ink after use? I have a Pilot vanishing point pen and a bottle of De Atramentis ink but am not sure if I dare to fill it with this ink? Is there no problem in your opinion?
Delightful sunny and cheerful drawings!
Thank you so much 😀
Love you drawings, with or without colors, and the calligraphies !

I like your placement of dark values against light values; particularly in paintings of architecture; also admire your loose brushwork! Art Weeks
Absolutely LOVE this awesome artwork you made of my homeland!! I’m in awe...

OH MY GOSH your outline-less drawings are soooo good...

Mike, I use the cartridge converter in the pen. Sounds like your ready to take your skechbag on a trip.
Happy Sketching!
Thanks, Brenda! It was fun watching your adventures via Instagram. This is a lovely summary and final ‘chapter.’ 🎨🖌👍💕
Lynn, I nice way to finish 😊

Sketching outdoors is so much fun once you figure out have to carry minimal supplies. Keep it simple!
This is lovely. Thank you so much for sharing. I kinda have my answer about the ink pen. I'm going to try to find the Pilot one here in France ...
Isabelle C , You’ll enjoy the pen!
Brenda, enjoying your videos. do you also do portraits with watercolor?
Sharon, Yes I do portraits. Check out my Instagram page to see a larger range of my work.😁
Hi Brenda! I have taken two workshops with you but never fail to learn something new from you. I love the idea of the Pilot retractable pen. What size nib do you recommend?
Hi Kathryn,
I have the medium nib on my pen… love it🖋

Love your penmanship. What type and size pen did you use for those pieces?
Sorry asked too early! Noticed you like fountain pens. I’m a fan now.
Yes...Fountains are the best!
Fantastic! thanks :-)
You’re welcome!
Me gusta mucho!!! 😀👍
Luisa, Thanks!
Wow! Thank you! ❤
Thank!
Superb x
Thanks 😊
What is that sepia ish colored ink you're using ?
The brown ink is De Atramentis document ink, Brown. It’s made in Germany. I buy it through Goulet pens
When you said condensed water colors did you mean paint with only a little paint?
One question about the De Atramentis document ink. Is it hard to clean out the converter from this ink after use? I have a Pilot vanishing point pen and a bottle of De Atramentis ink but am not sure if I dare to fill it with this ink? Is there no problem in your opinion?
Chatrine, I use the ink in my Pilot vanishing nib and I haven't had a problem. I'm careful to flush my pens with water when not in use.
👌
