@@ant2901 Yeah, for a computer monitor, 4K would be a decently noticable bump, but for a TV at the average viewing distance, there is barely a perceptible difference if at all between 1080p and 4K. You have to sit pretty close to the screen to really get the benefit of it.
Bad news bro, it's probably running crysis and on top of that running on a super computer that doesn't handle that kind of code. So now it's forced to run crysis and forced to run inside a virtual machine that makes cyrsis and the game think it's inside a PC. IE: you'll get 10 FPS of blazing fast gaming experience at 1080p. Even if it ran on a super computer, it's automatically handi-capped by the cry-engine. ;)

Daniel Black because of this video I want him to go revisit that quad sli quadro build he mentioned because clearly the adapters he used in it and here are not up to snuff.
Reminds me of the time I tried to fix my AC remote, only to end up buying a third party replacement, only to finally realize the problem is with the AC's IR sensor and not the remote blaster
yea and then people say "no the cables don't matter" yes they do. Had so many issues running 4k 100hz on my tv with some cables, I said screw it and bought a more expensive one and that worked instantly
I must say I totally understand the struggle and frustration you had setting this up since I'm dealing with this almost on a daily basis. With the company I work for, we regularly use Quadro cards in a 8K Mosaic configuration for media servers. With time we found out the following points to be really helpful: 1. Windows does not allow you to create 1x4 single resolution display. To overcome that, I put all the displays in portrait mode in Windows and then create a 2x2 mosaic with Nvidia. 2. We found that the Accell DP to HDMI active adapters are working really well for 4K60 coupled with standard Startech HDMI cables. 3. I like to get my first display resolution right and export its EDID file to apply it to all my displays. That ensures the resolution will never change and the mosaic will not be broken even if you mess around with the cables. I have to acknowledge the fact that Nvidia Control Panel is everything but stable and reliable. I cannot understand how they are making such advanced GPUs but still make sh***y UI for their control panel. Hope this helps!
@jeffery thank you. I consider myself a hardware genius down to soldering transistors .. this is mega useful because I'm not an expert on firmware and drivers. I had only rebuilt an amd Linux driver because it was out of support... It's hell, and the skill set is hard to come by for those who build firmware and kernel driver in today's world
also consider taking the right cables. most adapter cables are one way to another. so you have to check whether the directions you are using is correct. PC-(DSPPORT-HDMICABLE)-TV is not the same as PC(DSPORT>
@Jimbo Bimbo for sure it will, or at least, it has to be like that. there should be rather no difference between 4k and 8k when its about bringing the signal to the TV. i totally agree with you
4k on a 32" monitor: 137.68 PPI and 0.1845 mm dot pitch. 8k on a 70" monitor: 125.88 PPI and 0.2018 mm dot pitch. This means that the first monitor will result in a sharper image.

@Trump TheTerrorist Upscaling and gutting the shit out of textures, shadows and lighting, which is what we already see with PS4 Pro/One X. 8K is what 4x the pixels of 4K, No way in hell a PS5 etc will be able to get 8K30 without looking like a damn PS2 game in the best of circumstances.
Trump TheTerrorist you still aren’t caught up even in 4k on consoles lol. The graphics settings are tuned way down on consoles even if you get “4k” resolution. If you put a high end pc build right next to a console with the same games you’d notice a huge difference in quality and smoothness. With that being said not everyone wants to throw down $2,000+ to get a good 4k build, but pc’s blow consoles out of the water when it comes to graphics and performance. They are in completely different leagues.
He said that the adapters were active, I think the problem was that he was trying to mix input types, 3 active adapters with 1 HDMI then with 1 DP to DVI to HDMI and 3 active adaptors.
Isnt the problem that they are active adapters though. Converting the signal is a vector of degradation, where a passive adapter doesnt touch the signal
I'm telling you if you're looking for a salvage monitor, you should buy a TV instead. It runs at 60Hz max but based on what you said, I assume you don't have a good gaming rig to run at higher fps anyway, so a TV is a better choice
@@SigmaHayate dude what are u talking about lets say he only has a rx 580 then many e sports titles would still run with far more than 60 fps. He should go with the aoc 24g2u. IPS 144hz 5ms response time for just 200 bucks
Fun fact, I knew the problem. Having set up our business's monitors with dual and three monitor setups, depending on the PC driving them, windows will not let adapters work without screen flicker and eventually not boot at all once more than one is used. Two displays max and third was downgraded on vga, your mileage may vary (running monitors from laptop docking stations).
I remember just a few years ago trying to get 4k 60 to work. Same kind of problems. So this will be ironed out eventually. Linus had a point though this is less useful for couch TV watching, but would be a game changer for VR. Im using a Valve Index and upgrading to dual 4k or dual 8k displays in a vr headset would be mind boggling... so would the price of the GPU to run it but... eh. Eventually.
"I have a way of creating hassle where no hassle existed before!" I think that is all tech people when trying to show their normie friends something cool.
To be fair... technology has a way of breaking itself stupidly. Like, Linus was using DP to HDMI adapters (a logical thing to do..) and it wouldn't work but somehow using DP to HDMI cables (theoretically the exact same fucking thing) DOES work. If you've messed about with technology long enough and are knowledgeable enough with it you come to realize that there's really SO MUCH shit that's stupidly broken it isn't even funny. For example: Did you know that if you have a locked EXCEL sheet with a few cells unlocked (for user input) whenever somebody pastes ANYTHING into those cells, excel locks them because it applies the 'normal' format to the cells and THEN applies the specific format of the pasted text over that and the default 'normal' cell has the property that it is locked? Microsoft considers this 'expected' behavior... Even though NOBODY that would ever design a locked sheet with a few unlocked cells for user input would want unlocked cells to become locked by users pasting something into them. Turns out not even changing the normal cell layout to be unlocked by default fixes the problem... the only solution that seems to be working thus far is to simply disable format pasting on excel load and then re-enabling it when the user closes the sheet.. But even that is a stupid solution because this disabling is application wide so if someone has another excel file open where they WOULD want to paste with original format intact they wouldn't be able to... And that's just a recent issue I ran in to as a pc power user... The oldest issue I can remember is deleting some essential windows files (without prompt or hassle or warning mind you!) to free up disk space as a kid... Imagine if your mp3 player allowed you to erase the software it uses to play back mp3's you put on it's memory... It really is that stupid.
In all honesty, everything came down the to Cords he used being bad... That was his only issue... They told him what Cords they used, & from what it sounds like, the PC booted straight up into 8K, super fast, so technically it was as Easy as they said... The issue is, Linus bought Display Port Adapters, that is a big no on new Tech like this... Display Ports have Limits, I got 1, & it read 1080P Max, it also read that Multi-Monitor was only doable on Adaptive Cords, I think? But my Cord said no where on it if it was Adaptive or not, It said nothing, Not on the Cord, nor on the Box, ~_~ Point is, you need the Official Cords to run, because they will have better luck & run better... But ummm... I just dunno the correct ones to buy... That is the hastle of Display Ports... ~_~

I must say I totally understand the struggle and frustration you had setting this up since I'm dealing with this almost on a daily basis. With the company I work for, we regularly use Quadro cards in a 8K Mosaic configuration for media servers. With time we found out the following points to be really helpful:

Active vs passive adapters, Linus. Techquickie next episode so you can learn

He explicitly said the first set were active.
He said that the adapters were active, I think the problem was that he was trying to mix input types, 3 active adapters with 1 HDMI then with 1 DP to DVI to HDMI and 3 active adaptors.
Adapters are fine to get it a screen to work, but reliably cables all day.
Isnt the problem that they are active adapters though. Converting the signal is a vector of degradation, where a passive adapter doesnt touch the signal
