Thanks for braving the cold conditions to share a walk and a conversation. Livingston looked lovely under it's blanket of snow. I can see why you like living there so much.
Glad you enjoyed it. It's been cold but as long as I dress for it, it's ok. Supposed to be -15F tomorrow and I'm going to walk in Bozeman. All the best, -H
@@CityWalks The coldest I've experienced here in Burlington, Vt was -11 two winters ago. All 480 sq miles of Lake Champlain froze. Someone decided to drive their Tesla onto the lake then somehow scrapped the bottom of the car on a protruding rock and the car caught fire. The Tesla did not sink because the ice was too thick. So if -11 is cold enough to keep a burning Tesla from melting ice, I can only imagine how bad -15 feels. Have you ever been to Vermont or Burlington? I believe you would enjoy them. Be well.
@@TomSealey Yeah, and it keeps getting colder here. I've only been to Sunderland. I was filming something for Orvis but Vermont was beautiful and I'd love to come back and explore some day. Great story about that Tesla. But its good to know electric cars can handle that kind of cold. -H
Fun seeing Livingston in the winter. My mother was born and raised in Livingston. She was the last of 14 children born to Angelo and Lula Tecca. I do have a few cousins still living there. Most left when the railroad left town. Thanks for the walk!
Another lovely video. I went through northern Montana on the westbound Amtrak Empire Builder in 2003, on the way from Chicago to Seattle, before travelling up to Alaska. I have always wanted to explore the state further, as what I saw was stunning.
Wonderful walk again Henry. Seen most of your video's on Livingston, love them looks a really beautiful place to live, you're very lucky! Really find it amazing and pretty sad that people actually criticise your "throat clearing and umming"! What is wrong with these people?? You take the trouble to walk in hyper cold weather to bring us these great video's and they moan but such trivia. As I've said before, it's the fact that you don't over plan your walks and you may um on occasions that help make your videos stand out. it s just like exploring with a friend. If they want a hyper scripted documentary tell them to watch tv instead!! Yours are spot on as far as i'm concerned. Keep up the great work!
I actually don't mind them sharing their opinions. I ask for the feedback and genuinely want it so I can make these better. It's the very occasional person who voices their opinion in a rude and entitled way that ocassionally gets me to slip in being "relentlessly positive". Thanks for your encouragement! -H
This was perfect! First time to hear someone talking to us on a tour. Really enjoyed it. Hope you didn’t get too cold. My husband said it was a very comfortable, relaxing tour. It’s snowing right now in TX, so we felt right at home. 😉
Nope, we are used to it. I was just chatting with someone in Austin who said it was 19 there. Pretty cold for that part of the world. Stay warm and thanks for saying hi! -H
Hi Henry ! Thanks for this great guided tour in your town of residence !! Again, enjoyed your interesting chat. I have never experienced temperatures as low as this because we live near the ocean. You did so well keeping going !! As you mention U.K. still in “Stay Home Order”, but we enjoy out daily walk permitted for exercise. Cheers Don ;-)
Hi Henry! Just stumbled across your channel and I love it. Just wanted to say hi neighbor! Hope to see you around town as I love to walk around Ltown too.
Hello, Henry. Regrettably, I’ve been delinquent in watching your wonderful videos (all apologies!). Fortunately, I decided to see what you’ve been up to and especially love your Livingston videos (a place I desperately want to visit with my family). I am very disappointed to hear about The Sport closing as I had hoped to visit it. I first leaned about it when I watched a wonderful video 2 young explorers (Small Towns to Summits) made when they visited Livingston in 2019 and interviewed Jordan Rose who I believe was the proprietor and chef at The Sport. A very cool, young transplant to Montana. It’s hard to wrap my head around the enormity & devastating effect this pandemic has had on so many areas of people’s lives. It’s so tragic yet we have to continue to live our lives as best as we can. Thank you so much for what you and Traveling Mel do. I don’t know if you realize what an important service you provide. Thank you and best wishes to you and your family. Stay safe!
Hi Ken, I hope you and your family do get to visit. I'm hoping the Sport may reopen this summer. Not sure of the details. Thanks so much for your comment. Hearing from viewers really does keep me motivated and has been an unexpected perk of this channel. All the best -H
