I'm so glad Blair's youtube has blown up. He used to be a no name that occasionally showed up on Raw Beefs, now he's thriving because people have discovered how amazing his skill and talent is. So so so happy for Skid Kids blowing up. It's what's right with the world.
I'm with ya on the UA-cam blowin up but the no name gtfo here Blair's been blowing it up way before there even was UA-cam ripping lips 🌊🎉 he was sliding out almost to the freaking sand bar skimin at a skim contest in Panama City back in 98 bro, those in the know, know, ya know . 😋🤙
What year was the 1st oak street contest.i lived there from 83 to 93 and grew up going there since I was little.my great grandparents lived by boat canyon.i remember amber Cottle. The Henderson and Tex skimming Shaws cove in the late 70s
Hi Blair! We, me and my husband, would like to thank you and Emanuel for making Kiko's dreams come true! ❤️ Being with both, in Santa Cruz, was really important for him! He loves his teacher and to see your work!!! He talks a lot and had lots of questions but language was still a barrier this time! I hope next goes better. We will be waiting for you!!! 🙂 Greetings from Sesimbra!!
Was an absolute honour to meet you and Skylar , you absolutely killed it in the pool 🤙.....such a fantastic edit 👌👏👏 Can't believe I'm actually in one of your clips 😁🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
No shyt dude, hes opened my eyes on some things for sure.. i had no idea skim boarding could go that far.. Its sad because, it seems this style of surf skimming is probably best suited for areas like where i live..
Gotta be the most fun Skidkids vid ever, loved it, "you're doing AMAZING". Excellent job on the editing. Totally unexpected to see this but somehow sensed to check out Skidkids today.
wow.. what a boss.. tha'ts magical to watch.. would love to learn how to skim on waves like that; you owned that Wave park .. ownership right there. they should have just given you the keys and all went home forever.
Never associated U.K. with surfing even after living and working there for a couple years. Live 'n' learn. Way cool skimming action down those cobblestone steps in Portugal. Glad the guy that did a faceplant was okay.
North of Cornwal and south of Wales are the best and most beautiful spots for watersports in the UK. There are places in Cornwall where the sports are so popular that equipment hire is dirt cheap.
These videos are awesome, and you all look happy doing stuff you love - good vibes. Cornwall has some great beaches along with Devon. Unfortunately here on the east coast in UK not so much but I have been watching your videos and inspired to start skimming again in my 40s. Keep up the great work. Ps Would be lovely if you had a exile skim board distributor in the UK.
ok this one was awesome. started with a real sweet wave park in the UK of all places.... some of those were decent fake waves. portugal looks fun too! can't wait for the next episode Blair
Thanks Barne! Really appreciate you! The fake waves were definitely better than what we had to work with in the ocean while we were in the UK. Next time we will hopfeully get better ocean waves in Cornwall.
Nice video Blair. I went to high school with your dad, lbhs 75. Also grew up in England and went back there in 72 and made a plywood skimmer and a skateboard. I was just like you long hair and all. Lol.
Yeaaah Blair! Woolacombe is my local, so good to see you cruising the old logs. Super good for flatland skimming on these beaches, not exactly the Wedge in terms of waves though... Keep it up!
So, Blair, here's a story of having money doesn't have anything to do with a good life. Some of my best memories were of having a dollar, in quarters, to get a round trip, bus ticket, with transfer's, to get from Anaheim to 1000 steps. With sleeping gear, 5 shopping bags, trash bags to clean and pack out trash, up the stairs, and I would camp out every weekend, there, for years. The longest stay, without leaving the beach, was a week. When Can Halen came out with the album"1984", I was camping at 1,000 Steps Beach". Please, take good care of that magical place, with a great history. Check the archive's of the Orange County Register, newspaper of the first "El Nino" storm there.
I kidding. I just Jest. Like a Jester. So many props and prayers for you, and everyone around you. Have you given competitionons, off of peirs in so.cal for future lifeguards, yet?
FYI. The best spot, to get into, The Wedge, is a channel between "Clynders" (we used to call that northern break next to The Wedge, Gravel's". Enough said.
@@SkidKids My pleasure. Blair is amazing and a super chill guy. I'm older, 54, and have done Rock Climbing for 35 years... but I really enjoy surfing when I get out once every year or so. We can all at least live vicariously through him ;)
THE VERY FIRST, " El Nino" storm, peirs across So. Cal., Were getting ripped apart. A few friends, and I, decided to check out, 1,000 Steps Beach. The Army Corpsbor Engineers helecoptered in a Excavactor to save those 3 houses from the shore break Waves of 9th st. It was so epic, it made the the front page of The Orange County Register newspaper. Ask your folks.
The saying, back in the begining of the 80's, at 1,000 Steps Beach, was, "Bring it down, pack it out.". Alot of "Mission Viejo" kids wouldn't. So, I, and my friends, would bring trash bags, with us, to clean up the house, pack it out, and keep that 9th and 10th street beach looking prestine. Carry it on. Up those 224 steps.
At a super low tide, 1982, you could walk, in the surf, almost to the middle of The Newport Pier, So Cal. That day, of low tide, some guy fishing on the Peir hooked ontu an 18 foot Tiger Shark. Understand?
I cleaned ears at a clinic that’s all we use ,,, they make a squirt bottle with a tip that goes in the ear and flushes it out… oh do not use cold water in ears,,, it will make you pass out ,,, If you have a friend that you want to pass out squirt some ice water in the ear they might not pass out but they will get dizzy and possibly pass out ,,, love watching u do something I can only dream of ,,, good stuff
So, in the early 80's , us young kids use to challenge gromiy, lifeguards that had to jump off of The Newport Pier. It was halarioys, as being an Aquaman.
I believe that Seal beach had alot of sand brought in to save beach houses. The Ocean brought the sand to bad ass places like Salt Creek and 1,000 Steps Beach. Ask your granddad.
Salt Creek is not a secret. It has been a feature in surfing magazines for many years. Too much sand causing it not to break? I remember that 10th St. Suffered that effect.
I'm so glad Blair's youtube has blown up. He used to be a no name that occasionally showed up on Raw Beefs, now he's thriving because people have discovered how amazing his skill and talent is. So so so happy for Skid Kids blowing up. It's what's right with the world.
Thanks for being with us through the process Brian! Stoked you are still enjoying the videos
It’s so nice to see a proper skimboarding community supporting such a legend
I'm with ya on the UA-cam blowin up

@@SkidKids the production quality in this one was... 👨🏻🍳💋 Great job Skylar et al.
He needs to be brought to justice for the continuous destruction of nature back in the US.
I spent my childhood there. I've missed it for over 20 years. Dana Point, Salt Creek, 1000 steps, one hundred percent.
I remember the first "Oak St. Skimboard Competitionon. I wish that I still had that shirt. Bless it all, without prophanity.
What year was the 1st oak street contest.i lived there from 83 to 93 and grew up going there since I was little.my great grandparents lived by boat canyon.i remember amber Cottle. The Henderson and Tex skimming Shaws cove in the late 70s

Started skimboarding because of you!!! Best regards from a man of Santa Cruz itself :D
Same!! Santa Cruz rocks!
One of the sickest videos in a while 🔥🤙
Blair is also an accomplished surfer. I love to see him blur the lines between surfing and skimboarding.

Love it! Can’t believe you didn’t visit Fistral Beach, surf capital of the UK!
Love your vids by the way
Did they dismantle the house, on the beach, of tenth street, that had a private Peir? The cement pools are still there, right?
Yeah Blair! yewww
Gotta love skid kids surprised you left little dog behind
Little dog is going full time surf maniac. Might make it in to the WSL one of these days

The Skyrar touch really upped the quality of this one!
As a surfing kid, after seeing a huge Tiger Shark, I would raise hell of anybody fishing around surfers.
Nice music choices during the surf segments. Whom are they by, if you happen to know? Just subscribed to your channel about two weeks ago.
how do u paddle with the skim board

Yo, skid kids, I use to practice Knunckucks at 10th St. 1000 steps. When it was more private.

sick
The mating season of Grey Whales seem to attract White Sharks, too.
You need to come to nj and have a skim board class
I would like that!
50 Percent peroxide 50% water. Pour it in your ear each eve lay on side and let sit 10 minutes
