I remember watching the music video for this on MTV AM. You had to practically stay up until 5 or 6 AM because that was the only time slot MTV had left that played music videos. Showed me bands like Cage The Elephant before anyone knew who they were!
I have a veeery strange thing going with this song. Well, apart it being my favorite song by Disturbed. At some point in my life I decided that reading books AND listening to music at the same time was a great idea. And at that time I was digging into Bas-Lag series by China Mieville (great books by the way), and at some point again, I was reading the Perdido Street Station and had The NIght in my headphones. Something clicked. For me it was just a prefect soundtrack for the book and feeling from it. So, with The Night on repeat I finished the book. From that point forward, every time I hear The Night I instantly fall back to the story of Perdido Street Station, and if I try to read Perdido Street Station alone, I instantly have The NIght playing in my head. Quite an imprint I created... But I have no regrets whatsoever =)
