Everything is for sale by the rich, including laws and natural resources we need for our basic survival. Turns out humans were forced into a monetary society by the ruling elites long ago and still are under that boot, today. The worst part is that the infinite growth incentive of the market is unsustainable. The seams are coming apart. Heading off a cliff. We need system change. Economically libertarian. There are obvious reasons to restrict the second amendment, especially when it comes to mentally unhealthy individuals accessing firearms. Do you realize how many shootings we have had in our state? Columbine HS, the theater shooting on the front range, the one at the Boulder supermarket. Not to mention suicides, there were several at the high school I went to using guns. We have a major gun problem in America, and it stems from ineffective background checks and gun safety training. Why should any bloke be able to purchase a semi automatic rifle? These are designed to be weapons. I love going shooting, but should we trust anyone off the street with such a powerful weapon? The second amendment was intended to prevent an authoritarian government from taking over. Not self-defense, not hunting, not shooting for pleasure. The British government was ridiculously oppressive towards us, and it made sense to allow everyone to own a bayonet and blunderbuss, especially with the threat of hostile natives (although I strongly disagree with the way we pushed them off their land) But did Jefferson anticipate the availability of rifles that can shoot multiple rounds per second? I highly doubt it. I think we should approach the second amendment the same way Switzerland arms their citizens. Required military training with a thorough mental background check. As far as requiring businesses to cater to LGBTQ weddings, it’s reasonable to require if you consider sexual orientation to be an innate human condition. Should the government allow white owned business to deny services to other races? I would imagine a gay governor would consider it a fundamental part of his identity, similar to one’s race or cultural background. Does the first amendment permit people with a religion that discriminated against race to deny service to other races? Is sexual identity on the same level as race? A purely libertarian take on this would permit this kind of discrimination by private businesses. I’m not pretending to know the answers.

+100 to everything you said. I was born and raised in north Colorado Springs area. It's abhorrent what the state has become. I loathe every time I have to go to Denver. The last time I was there I had to walk my kids through 2 blocks of homeless encampments to get to the state building for the event we were attending and my daughter almost stepped in human feces right in front of the capitol. There was a fight at the street corner up from my house just a couple weeks ago where two homeless men were fighting over who got to panhandle there because apparently they are "running out of good spots". Polis is famous for trying to get something passed that we reject, then claiming he fought to give us what we kept him from taking. As an example for anyone not familiar, he pushed a bill that would have amended the Tabor Law saying the state had to return to taxpayers any excess tax revenue "accidently" collected. They wanted to keep it and use the excess as a baseline for future taxes. When it failed and the Tabor checks got sent out, he started taking credit for "sending Colorado taxpayers additional money when they need it most" or some bs like that...

My wife and I lived in Denver, Colorado from 2010 til May 2021. Everything became so expensive that we left. He may have reduced the taxes, but it's still one of the highest in the nation. The average price of a home in a decent area is at least half a million, and if you want to buy a home relatively close to the mountains, you pay an arm and a leg for it, and the taxes alone are so high that you wished you never even considered buying a home. Anyway, home prices are high everywhere now. Also, I used to work for a hydraulic fracturing company in Colorado, and Colorado being a blue state put so many restrictions that pretty much made it almost impossible for the company to be profitable, so, as a result many people got furloughed or got laid off. Every Democratic run state in a short time will get ruined because the people who vote for these immoral, incompetent politicians are somehow benefiting from them, but in the long run, we the people end up paying a heavy price. FYI, Jared Polis is a Sodomite, he is married to a man.
Denver went to hell, but most of the state hasn't gotten bad as fast. Don't get me wrong, he's still bad on a half dozen issues, but better than most democrats, at a time they've gone completely insane.
I went to an event at the capitol build last year with my family. We had to walk through 2 blocks of homeless camps and my daughter almost stepped on human feces right in front of the capitol building. Denver was never the cleanest city growing up but it's absolutely disgusting now.

I find it a bit silly to say we have a labor shortage so therefore we need more immigration, while at the same time having millions of able bodied people not working, but collecting taxpayer money.
We have a labor shortage because we have people that don't want or have to work, not because we don't have enough people. Adding more people just makes the tax burden higher on everyone for an incrementally small increase in unskilled labor.

We have a nation of mostly middle management qualified workers. We have way more people trained to work in HR than our country could ever need. Too many people that want high pay for being a barista rather than working a construction job that would actually pay more. The governor cited "personal responsibility". That's a stretch for most of the younger generation who want rights without responsibilities. They think they will be cared for by socialists.
Yeah, this is outright wrong. I'm a Colorado resident and business owner, and they're very not business friendly here. Ignoring for a moment that our Secretary of State is an idiot and pushing things that actively hurt business, this guy is pressing insane taxes that's massively hurting our economy, while he keeps getting richer off of it. Like our new bag tax where we have to pay $0.10 per free bag we get from the store. The new tax on delivery so not only do you get taxed on the items you bought, and on the bag they're delivering it in, but also on the very fact that it's being delivered. Not to mention his Department of Regulatory Agency is damn near the mafia in the state, bullying companies out of business by demanding ever increasing money and harassing people over any thing they can to get every dime possible. Don't forget about their soft on crime garbage that supports local businesses being robbed regularly, which is ironic coming from a state that's profiting from their legal system that targets people in a specific income range then gives plea deals for people who made a stupid mistake, all to make money off them. As soon as my local businesses have grown enough to safely move, I'll be moving them out of this state.

Can't be a Libertarian by restricting the Second Amendment!
Of by forcing people to provide services for gay weddings.
@@TenGreenRangers Agreed. I'd love to see Stossel drill him in the full interview.
The British government was ridiculously oppressive towards us, and it made sense to allow everyone to own a bayonet and blunderbuss, especially with the threat of hostile natives (although I strongly disagree with the way we pushed them off their land)
But did Jefferson anticipate the availability of rifles that can shoot multiple rounds per second?

So Polis is not remotely libertarian. There is not a year that goes by that our Governor and Government does not try to bypass Colorado's Taxpayer Bill of Rights.

Do you get 30 days in jail for stealing a plastic bag that used to be free?
And beginning Jan 1, 2024 you can't even pay for a plastic bag, you'll only be able to get recycled paper bags for 10 cents a pop. Oooo, we're so free!! 🙄

A massive homeless problem is happening in small and major cities due to his policies. He didn't start it, but he's not making it any better.
"government is only driving of inflation... Too much government spending, and too much government create of currency" ~ milton friedman
How about the federal government fights inflation by SPENDING LESS.
"we should not penalize trade" .. well we also shouldn't penalize purchasing and income...
I read somewhere that after Colorado decriminalized or legalize pot the number of traffic accidents increased significantly.
Don't drink the kool-aid. Polis is awful. Look into his actions not his words. He's disgusting.
I can’t wait for the full interview.
I don’t understand why a successful businessman would run for office as a Democrat. But I’ll listen.
A - He was not a successful businessman: he inherited his parents' business and sold it to pocket the profits.
B - He is a lying weasel who says anything he thinks he needs to say to gain power.
C - Polis is NOT a libertarian in any sense of the word: his actual policies are authoritarian and punitive.
Ask him about Juvenile Records preventing adult ownership of firearms. Why doesn't he address Denver PD and how they are on recording calling themselves "the biggest gang in Denver".
Like I like his Free Market attitude but his absolute disregard of the Constitution is fuckin sickening and it's why I left for Arizona
This governor aligns himself with the complete opposite of his claimed views !!... makes me wonder about his intentions or his intelligence ??? .. DON'T TRUST HIM !!
Infant Genocide...
Calling Polis a libertarian, is like calling Jefferey Dahmer a vegetarian.
Mid to late 1900's (30's to the 80's) both parties had a nice mix across the board, not so much Regulations and businesses thrived. Now it's Regulate this, Regulate that, and get penalized for being successful.
Agreed. I'm a pseudo native to Colorado. I moved here when I was six. I'm 32 now but I can tell you growing up it did have a live and let live mentality and was probably one of the more libertarian states in the union. Locally. People were willing to try new things and if they didn't work they would go back to what did and go back to the drawing board. On the federal level it was a bit more conservative because most of the representatives that went there felt as though their constituents were telling them to tell DC to stay off their back. Let us do our thing here
Thank you John! I’ve always liked your reporting.
Look forward to the full interview, but, I will say, it doesn’t matter that this governor has done some good things, he still means to govern. What about the 2nd amendment?Colorado has turned into a anti gun state similar to the New York and Illinois. The governor mentioned something about the self. Well, that should obviously include self protection. Anyways, I could go on-n-on about things. Thanks for your work and videos....

Except for, you know, website designers and bakers
Indeed, more than 70% of America's current STEM grads can't find work in their chosen field, and 250 American Disney techs were forced to train their own Indian replacements. The tariffs Polis insults in this video were adopted by every country in the EU, and some of those countries are now considering a 4 day work week, since Europeans can afford it. In this video, Polis clarifies he wants China to get what China wants: American jobs, Mexico gets what Mexico wants: American jobs, and American businessmen get what they want: cheap, foreign labor at slave wages with zero employee protections. The Americans who fought for a legal minimum wage and safe working conditions are the ones who lose out. America's minimum wage and safe work requirements will completely disappear. We can either work for $4 per hour to compete with the foreigners or wind up unemployed. Even CNN admitted in 2006 that the most authoritative estimates of what illegal immigration costs Americans "put the suppressed wages at $200 billion a year".
@@Dawn737 There should be no minimum wage. Wages should be set by the market, not government.
