Astro's choreos are so satisfying!
[Knock] Someone had a video pointing out "things you missed" during Knock, and noted that there are three little steps they take (3:09) that are easy to overlook, but perfect musicality. They struck me as funny and now I can't unsee this. It's so satisfying to hear all the sneakers tap down at the same time. I completely understand about watching each member do the whole dance. Sanha isn't my bias (I don't have one), but I love watching him dance because he's such a perfect fusion of both Rocky and Moonbin.
[Again] Check the knee movements at 7:21 because how stupid talented are they that this is the level of detail!? Sanha moving backward blind at 9:13 and even turning to fold through? Confidence. And yeah, they were still babies, only a year after debut.
[CSC] This reminds you that they're all various heights and they tailor their movements to make that less apparent, which is a skill I don't think all groups focus on. Rocky is SO good. Like, I have zero reservations about saying he's the best dancer in kpop I've seen. I know people will say "it's Taemin" or "it's Kai" or any other number of people, and there are absolutely great talents. Rocky has such amazing control of his body and the lines he can create. His freestyling is effortless and his dance vocabulary is voluminous, which is something I think even many of the great dancers don't have at their disposal. Check out some of his vlive dancing if you can. I hate that he doesn't do this as much anymore, but our man is an actor, emcee, and preparing for another comeback, so I can forgive him.
[Breathe] How unprecedented is them actually singing during their dance practice!? I mean, yeah, they do it live in performances, but it's a practice FFS! It's still jarring to see them in the SM practice space. I know the company is just renting the space, but it's still so weird.

To be really impressed with Rocky's skills you cannot overlook what he does in the *_With You_* full dance practice from about the 17 minute mark in "[ASTRO DDOCA] 아스트로 또까 AAF D-3".
Don't forget to check "moonwalk" and "with you" dance practice on ASTRO DDOCCA 아스트로 또까 AAF D-3. They sync is very cool!!!

Excellent. Loved your reactions, you're so on point. I love how you instantly appreciate all the things that make Astro so good. Rocky, Bin and Jinjin are such eye-catchers as the danceline, but MJ, Eunwoo & Sanha are sooo good as well. Endless practices together make them move together as one. "Again" is one of my favorites both for the song and dance. There's no MV of this but they do have a lot of live stages for this, hope you can check one of those out bec there are stages where they changed the bridge to Rocky and Moonbin doing their own dance break, which is nuts. "Knock" is just a masterpiece of slow then fast movements and very powerful too. I don't remember but just in case you haven't checked it out, their dance practices for earlier songs are even more high energy:

I love dance practice videos. Maybe because you can focus on the dance without the “distraction” of everything that’s in an MV. Don’t get me wrong, I love the MVs. But when I’m watching one in addition to the dance I’m also taking in the lighting, set, outfits, etc.
I have to watch every astro dance practice a billion times because I have a serious case of rocky tunnel vision lmao same thing with oneus' hwanwoong and purple kiss' ireh :'D
