I so enjoyed this video! Everything about it felt so cozy...your outfit matched the colors around you so perfectly! I loved hearing you mention American Girl books, because I've been pulling a few from my shelf to read. I'm going to pass along a few of the titles you mentioned to my sister, too. Thanks for sharing such a lovely video! ♥
W&D deserves a slow read!♥️ You picked up so much to read this year. It’s wonderful how much of it you loved! We love Josephina 🥰 I need to pick up Grace again. I wasn’t in the mood for it when I picked it up initially. I have way less buddy reading going on in November, but it still feels like quite a few😂
@novelideea Yes, I ended up loving Grace, but I suspect it’s a mixture of the writing style, poetry at the head of each chapter, and Grace the main protagonist! 😂
I felt similar about A Study in Scarlet; I really enjoyed it, but the idea for part of the story was...interesting 😆The Grace of Wild Things is definitely on my TBR now! Loved hearing your thoughts on these books 😊 -Amelia
I need to read Cranford. I LOVED the miniseries. So funny. But everyone in that one dies! It got to the point where we cracked up when someone died because there were so many! Yes, we're morbid and weird over here. I totally agree on the relationship tension in Juniper. I am totally cringey about stuff like that. It was a hilarious book. I had a BLAST listening to it (and I just realized that this is why I didn't blink at who was talking. It wasn't that I followed it any better but that they had two narrators, so it made it easy to know!) LOL. But that book was so crazy funny. That's the primary thing I liked. I also really liked that they TALKED about things. She's interested and says so. He's not going there and says so. And that opening scene with the blind date? I still crack up thinking about it. But yeah, 100% agree on it not being "Christian fiction" per se. Didn't know she's a Christian author. That explains the relative cleanliness (although, yeah. I feel like there were a few toes flopped over a line a few times.)
Yes, my daughter noticed all the deaths, too! 😂 Victorian literature, I guess?! 😂 Yes, Juniper is “clean” in that we aren’t getting any actual stuff spelled out on the page , but it was up there for me. But it’s just my taste. It did have good back and forth banter and I like the friendship aspect to love. 😄
I totally agree! And I was thinking about your video last night, and I remembered you talking about innuendo. I do tend to miss innuendo half the time.
if i saw that book at the store id pick it up bcz i love a vintage look --wow i had a josephine in my life- she would take care of us while our mother worked. i looked up juniper bean synopsis -- lol it sounds great- im going to order this one💙💙

After 60-something chapters, I DNF’d The Way We Live Now, too. No Regrets.
Happy Saturday 💙💙
You have put Grace of the Wild Things on my TBR. I’m glad you had a great Victober! I hope your November reading is great!
