- July 2023 Astroneer update brings full customization to games, planets and hardcore more, where you only have one life. No re spawns for you this time.
Astroneer latest update brings custom planets, you have a lot of settings to play with and can make the game hardcore by limiting the numbers of lives (spawns) that you have at disposal
This update cracks open Astroneer in a way that allows players to do all sorts of really fun things. From creating new saves with unique characteristics like hardcore permadeath, to setting up exact scenarios and speedruns, the custom game tools added will allow you to make the experience your own and then share them with others.

I agree I love your videos. Do a let’s play! Also in customs is it all customs you die you loose the achievements? Or is that just one of the settings?
You can set how many respawns you have. If you set no respawns, you die, you loose . I call it hardcore

Man, I remember collecting oxygen and power in glowing deposits in early development builds, scrambling for those blue dots in caves when I ran out of tethers. Good times
I think oxygen filters last longer if you remove them from the backpack when your tanks are full and only equip them to fill the oxygen bar. At least that's how i used to use them years back.
This! They can last over 10 minutes but if you equip them continuously they will only last for something like 70s.
It's similar to how a small generator works. One Organic can produce 240 units but power goes to waste if you let it run on a system that uses less than 2U/s and doesn't have enough room to store the excess units.

I haven't played in a long time, so maybe this was already fixed in some update, but oxygen filters had a lifetime based on time, not on amount of oxygen produced. And their lifetime clock runs whenever they are put on a slot where oxygen can be consumed. If you know programming, then you can imagine the conditional ladder that determines if the filter is being consumed or not. For some reason, the decision tree was programmed wrong, and even if you are within range of an oxygenator and with full tank of O2, the filters get consumed anyway if you equip them.
So the max efficiency for filters was achieved by only equipping them during the brief time that it takes to fill all your O2 tanks (the basic one and any crafted ones). That way all the lifetime that you spend from the filter is taken advantage of at the O2 tank filling rate, which is much higher than the O2 tank consumption rate.
Power packs crafted from Zinc were programmed right if i remember right, you could plug them to a table and they would last forever as long as your base's power needs were met by other means. They would only start getting consummed if there was a power shortage.

@@KuyaGameAstroneer You need about 8 oxygen canisters in your backpack to make full use of oxygen filters. That's how much oxygen they overproduce.

I also tested on sylvia with the creation of a first tractor to breathe and move (bytes and find 2 aluminum only).
Then craft the oxygenator easier.
For early game I would reccomend to go for a tractor instead of an oxygenator. It doesn't need power to let you breathe, is easily mobile, provides safety, and only needs two aluminum instead of one aluminum and ceramic.
Still don't need power for oxygenator
I just started the challange, but I just selected to spawn on Sylva. I was exploring the world for like 10 minutes to find a nice place for base to continue the gameplay and I found gravity globe. Oxygen problem solved! 🎉

I've fallen down holes before and had to do similar things. Usually it's a rush to make a tractor or a buggy, tractor being more practical since it comes with a seat.

In the grade platform there is an option to use fault founders for trading resources, the problem Is that i cant use them with the platform (not the one that gives event items, the normal one) so i hope you or maybe other people could give me an answer of why i have this problem...

I just realized something. You can't place the oxygenator in the shelter because there is no shelter, meaning you can't get the first missions done, meaning you can't have galastropods in hardcore... 😢

Hi! I discovered that the planets and moons are positioned in a 3x3x3 cube, with Sylva in the center. Diebeck posted a video on how to make a slingshot using the node teleports. Wanna work with him and make him famous? I would be down to help with preperations if needed.

@@KuyaGameAstroneer heh so i tried the SES Hardcore mode .. i spawned literally next to a POI with a Gravity Globe. I won Hardcore mode xD portable and infinite oxygen for rest of the run. Eh too bad they didn't add the option to disablbe oxygen from vehicles like they mentioned on stream.

You need to complete the game in hardcore mode, I don't know if it means that you have to unlock sylvas core, all planets cores or complete it 100%
