Thanks for the tutorial, I had Google sketchup for some time now and never even heard of sketchyphysics until I saw your vids and you really inspired me to download it, and by just watching this video I became to know as much as "What is THIS!" to "Ohhhh...I get the concept." So thanks much!!!
This is the most awesome thing ever and I will never figure out how I used sketchup for the past two years without ever checking this out. thanks a million times.
I'm a fan Jimbo. At first I thought it was going to be another terrible video of some monotone guy boring me to death. But then stuff started going wrong and you said sh*t. Felt right at home. Thanks man.
funniest part is where he rips the other bad sketchup vids, which is true, but i could barely stay awake on his vid, pretty funny though, its not an easy program, thanks for puttin it out there jimbo!
hahahahah "it's gonna work out, guys, it's gonna work out" I fucking love this tutorial, totally downloading SketchyPhysics and learning how to use it with your help.
I love your tutorial!!! I learned a lot! Thanks for not editing the "sh"-part out! I followed along easily and at the end was in tears, laughing, and sreaming at the screen. Will now check out your other vids.
Never thought I could laugh so much watching a tutorial haha.. And you have the voice of Tom Hardy in Lawless, which makes it even funier. Anyway thanks for the video :D
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but I thought I'd let you know. The "accel" is for accelerate, which is the rate at which the object will accelerate. If you set your max field, it will accelerate at the "accel" rate until it reaches the "max" velocity value. "damp" is a damper that allows you to create more realistic looking acceleration, in that it doesn't suddenly jump into motion, it "winds up", so to speak.
It's good to make mistakes when you're doing a tutorial. People need a frame of reference when they're learning. Perfect execution only helps people who already know what's going on. It's true though like you said, how there are plenty of terrible tutorials, and one mistake the noob can make is not executing their instructions properly, or in a timely fashion. But I like how you handled it :) Thank you for your mistake.
Very excellent...looking forward to more. Got a little draggy at about 6 min, but that's cool...loved that you were willing to mess up at about 9 min and talk it out...
@tavitooo Worked it out mate: Click 'Plugins' then 'Sketchy Physics' then 'Version' then untick 'Auto update (recommended)' That should stop the update window popping up!
great video.....new to sketchyphysics........do you have a tut that shows how to export your sketchyphysics animations and how it interacts with sketchup's camera animations? what format do you export them to and is another plugin reqiired? Love your tutes.
what form of Google Sketchup are you using? I have Sketchup from the official download site with a whole lot less tools. and the only polygon shape I have is a hexagon.
how come when i make a box and i make it a group when i hit play it falls thru my floor? im trying to achieve a box that floats but when i hit play it falls but lands on the floor instead of falling thru it. how do i do that?
can you do a simple simulation for me? im trying to prove to a friend that a ball rolling around in a funnel will orbit forever if there is zero friction, thanks!
Hi everybody ! I'm on mac and I installed Sketchyphysics (changing the .zip to .rbz) into Sketchup 15. The toolboxes appeared but it doesn't seem to work... Anyone having an idea how to fix it ?
Hi, first i want to say thanks 4 your video! its the best tutorial about Sketchy Physics here! I tried to build the figure with the servo. So i followed yout unstruktions step by step. but if i klick on the play button, the empty control panel pops up. But the window is empty. and if i klick on the "UI-button" and then on the servo it doesnt show me any infos about the servo. Same with normal hinge or slider. Can you help me?
ey nice video you really help me, but i have a problem with this program, when i do like the box u do or something with the movement joints after a while, it appears an error and it say ERROR BUG SPLAT, what happen??help me please!:(
Great but there has been a problem when I downloaded 3.2 it was really 3.1 and will not work. It is looking like sketchy phisics is dead.PLEASE HELP! I really want to use this
I want to learn more about sketchup physics because my knowledge of it is still very shallow in great need of the examples of making more equipment some time ago I wanted to create a simulation tool with google sketchup that I want to simulate the movement is a magnet motor system can be seen in step 7 youtube title animation .... magnet motor, but the obstacles that I get is I did not understand the use sketchup physics as a whole with this I ask your help as best regard Arief Triwahyudi
i haw problem with join connector when i join first box everything ok but when i try connect second box with join connector he Mark my first box with green color and i cant join 2 box with shift when my first rectangle has selected please help how to select hinch with join connector without selecting first rectangle!!!!!!
Damn, I picked up on your mistakes before you did and this is the first time I even see SP! Mistakes are something to learn from, but this vid could use some editing... Plus, you explained it so slowly I felt like in kindergarten and almost fell asleep.... This could easily be a 1-2 min long video, but thanks for the info anyway
@JimboVids It's just common sense, no intention for credit. I just tried to give you some constructive criticism for your forthcoming videos (and not to bum you out). You sound so frustrated in the video, which implicate on me as a viewer. In short: try to practice the video before you shoot it (so you won't be surprised) and make it a little more fluent. Peace.
Thank you for the tutorial but you don't need to say bad things about other people work... that was rude and didn't add anything to your work...actually it made me have the same thoughts you said ppl had when reading instructions on a tutorial.
Thanks for the tutorial, I had Google sketchup for some time now and never even heard of sketchyphysics until I saw your vids and you really inspired me to download it, and by just watching this video I became to know as much as "What is THIS!" to "Ohhhh...I get the concept." So thanks much!!!
Man~ There's no one explained like you. It is a great tutorial. It is never any sarcasm. I mean it.
Thanks man.
The second time it tips over is so incredibly funny! hahahahahaha. Thanks for leaving that in there.

funniest part is where he rips the other bad sketchup vids, which is true, but i could barely stay awake on his vid, pretty funny though, its not an easy program, thanks for puttin it out there jimbo!

Glad I choose you to learn sketchyphysics! Thanks man!
I love your tutorial!!! I learned a lot! Thanks for not editing the "sh"-part out! I followed along easily and at the end was in tears, laughing, and sreaming at the screen. Will now check out your other vids.
Nice work, and a few laughs thrown in too!
Great tutorial. Thx for showing your errors, it's actually really helpful.

hi Jimbo! thank you for making this great tutorial, and for sharing your mistakes as well! =)
if you explode a group it will be unlocked and editable.
No bombs.
you're talkin about joints and static and stuff, but it looks like you just smoked one just before makin tutorial :D
great.
Best tutorial ever :)
Amazing!
what form of Google Sketchup are you using? I have Sketchup from the official download site with a whole lot less tools. and the only polygon shape I have is a hexagon.
Great tutorial... but how do i export sketchyphysics animation?? or how do i connect sketchyphysics with sketchup scenes?
only need one diagonal to find center...
looool great tutorial
how come when i make a box and i make it a group when i hit play it falls thru my floor? im trying to achieve a box that floats but when i hit play it falls but lands on the floor instead of falling thru it. how do i do that?
Should've just turned gravity off by setting Gravity value to 0 or rotate the whole thing so it lies on it's back .
Lo bueno es que me has enseñado, luego de algunos fallos.
Super !
The option simply ungroups groups.
Thanks ! :)
Em que guia ou janela eu vou para anexar essas ferramentas a minha barra de ferramentas JimboVids?

is it possible to turn off friction in sketchyphysics?
you forgot to tell us what finally fixed the box falling over.. static again?
I explode group . Each block must be alone group . Wall must have status static .

I enjoyed the commentary.
one thing is how to record that animation ?save to movie clip
because you didn't click "make solid floor"
Wait a minute. After it fell over the second time, then you said it'll work, but you couldn't see what you did to make it work. What did you do?
hey.. is it posible to copy a physic piece so that every part has it own axis?
