The first edition was the first Bible I ever read through, and just those notes alone were enough to prepare me for a freshman Bible survey course in college! You're in good hands with the 3rd edition as a new Christian!
The layout also does everything right to make the text not get lost in the gutter. My new favorite Study Bible, but I got the NKJV. I like the NLT and the Life Application Bible, but got the NKJV because I've got the NLT 2nd edition.
Im a christian.Never had a study bible.I want to be a better christian and Im if this would be the study bible for me.Been researching them for 2 weeks now.I loved your video.Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless you for.the great works you do!
I know those are some great Bibles, and I really like that green coloring. They have come a long way with the "leather-like" varieties out today. Nice review.
Just bought a copy yesterday. Love it so far: I’m not a new believer or anything but I was happy to have something a little lighter, if that makes sense, easier translation than my ESV and notes that are immediately encouraging. Thanks for the recommendation, bro.
Hey. I was hoping you would be interested in doing a review of the chronological life application study bible. Hoping to start it Jan 1st! I wondered about your thoughts on it!
Can you do a video comparing the Life Application Study Bible and the Faithlife Logos Study Bible. I am curious which one, between the two, do you recommend?
Great Review and Comparison. This is my Favorite Study Bible I have a NIV 1st Edition. It is very worn and I have been thinking of getting a 2nd or 3rd Edition? I like the NLT too. Also I’m new to your Channel and just Subbed.
Awesome! Thank you! Yes, it's my favorite as well. The 3rd edition is great. You may want to get it in NLT since you already have an NIV 1st exition. Then you'll have the best of both!
@@DiscipleDojo thank you so much for the reply. I got the life application Bible delivered yesterday. All your reviews are extremely helpful for navigating all the different study bibles. God bless
Hi! I'm looking at the first edtion on ebay bc I want the NASB version. Are the notes pretty much the same between the 1st and 3rd? I know the 3rd's content has been reworded for our times but the notes are essentially the same? Features too? Thanks!
They're very similar. Some more modern topics are dealt with more in the newer edition that weren't around in the pre-internet era when the first edition was printed. But very similar overall.
Life Application Study Bible its Worth it . Its a great Bible I can understand why is The Best Selling Bible I Love Mine NASB and NLT . I want to buy my self the KJV and the NKJ. I Wish they could make it in CSB translation
@@DiscipleDojo ~ I picked up the HCSB Life Application Study Bible and I love it! I believe it is the 2nd Edition. I enjoy the HCSB Bullet Notes. I also have an older KJV and the 3rd Edition NIV chunky monkey. Wonderful job on this comparison.
@@DiscipleDojo Curiously I watched this video a couple days ago, and today I happened into a Books-A-Million and snagged a brand new hardback HCSB in the box/sleeve for $20! I thought it was a great deal in general for a LASB, but I looked it up on eBay and they are selling for $100! The TuTone Leathersoft one is pre-owned on eBay for $160! Thinking now I should have bought more than one copy!! The crazy thing is, I went in there looking for an NLT version…$89.95 and came out with this one for $20.
This particular one isn’t, but they did make an absolutely beautiful chronological version of the LASB a few years back (only in NLT and KJV, I believe). Highly recommend checking it out!
Just seen the first minute of your video, and reminded me of something someone said. If your Bible is a mess, your life is not.
I always heard it as "A Bible that's falling apart belongs to a person who isn't." 😃
Just bought third edition! Looking forward to using this study Bible as I’m a new Christian

I just got a Life Application Study Bible 3rd Edition NJV large print, I am really liking it. Good video review on yours.

I like the Life App, but I'm honestly not a fan of Chronologial study Bibles in general. See the review I did recently here on the playlist.
Does that old NRSV come with the Apocrypha?

Would you recommend this one over the NLT illustrated study Bible?
For a new believer, yes. For someone who is more mature in their faith, it would be a toss-up between those two.

HI Dojo, I have seen a ton of reviews on the 3rd edition but none on the 2nd edition Life Application Study Bible. Is there a reason for this? 🤔🤔

They made it in the HCSB (the precursor to the CSB) and you can still find it in some stores or online.

Are the pages thicker or thinner in the newer or order version? Or the same?
I didn't notice a difference.
I didn't notice a difference.
Is it in chronological order?
No, it follows the canonical order.
