The utter and complete arrogance of this CEO cost him his life , as well as the life of four others. So sad
Exactly! He was an arrogant crook selling last minute tickets
This guy. This guy here. This guy stated something very important and wise: “Learn the lesson .”
I agree the implosion was probably the best outcome. Considering the alternatives.
I feel so sad for the crew and the fact that it didn’t have to happen makes it even sadder
This man has gave the most unbiased, knowledgeable and sincere thoughts about this whole Oceangate sub Titan incident have watched yet.
Nothing better than a military man.
Good interview ..good questions and no interruptions.
It's NOT the Titanic Sub. It's a submersible vessel with a different name. Titan.❤
It’s true name is “ a piece of junk “.
@@allthatsheiz 👍 AGREE 👍
What about the story that they were preparing to go back up just before implosion. Did they hear cracks?
that story isn't verified
Get real, grow up
This "The crush was immediate / It happened in a split second" is everywhere in the media and experts since yesterday but we still don't know what happened and theres a very high possibility that the water find its way under the carbon fiber wrapping and then pushed *more progressively* directly on the metal cylinder wall (titanium) of the pressure chamber, under the carbon fiber layers. And this is consistent with the subsequent finding of the pointy tail, intact, which was attached to that cylinder. So, we don't know if "It happened it a millisecond". It could have been several seconds. It could have been a slow deformation inward until it popped and then it was a millisecond implosion. We won't know until we see the actual pictures of the pressure chamber.
It might not even have deformed, it might have been a breach of the seal since they were using bog standard wrenches to bolt them up. They don't appear to even use rubber in those gaskets nor do they use torque wrenches. Also look up the video about cracks and CEO ignoring them. I agree, it might not have been quick at all, there might have been jets of water tearing their way through giving them minutes to realise their fate but nothing that could be done about it, remember the intercom was text only by design....
We won’t know then. Whatever happened likely destroyed evidence of whatever came before. You’re talking like you’re fit to do some forensics on the wreckage or something. We have only ever known about this what we are told and that won’t change. People now acting like the submarine industry is a daily concern to average citizens just because they followed this story for half a week 😂no judgment. I’m right there with you.
Yeah, I don't buy this 'it happened in milliseconds' either. Most propably, my guess is it took at least from 5 - 30 seconds before it cracked like a can. Can't imagine the panic what they went through.
Great interview - thank you 👏👏
I wish they would release the sound they heard. The knocking in timely intervals bother me.
It’s nothing.. maybe the debris moving around with tides.. also 30 minutes intervals is too long a wait.. if someone was trying to get sonar attention they would keep knocking nonstop.. or morris code with knocking
also,it would have been in morse code
Great interview
People focusing in "stuff from a hardware store." It was a HANDLE, ON THE INSIDE OF THE SUB! A HANDLE!
The passengers knew it could be unsafe. That's what makes this harder.
My heart bleeds for them as well. This is just unfathomably devastating.
no way this thing could ever be certified.
Rush was insane and that insanity of his cost lives.
PS5 controller? That was a PC master race controller
It’s very hard for us, the public , to comprehend that depth , and the pressure involved.
Merciful it was fast. Also merciful they don’t have to recover bodies.
You sound rather patronising and dumb
When humans implode under that kind of pressure, the skin goes inward while internals spew outward. There are no bodies sadly
You speak the truth
“I was on a couple of plane crashes” wtf bro. That’s not normal.
he meant plane crashes that were being investigated under the sea
He's US Navy
@@gracebateman777 and I am a lazy just eating
I don't think we need to spend another dime doing anything.
We already have all the answers to prevent another mishap.
The title of the clip has nothing to do with its content.
Did I miss the part about the acoustic anomaly?
2:35 Everyone in different interviews says something different. This guy says 3 tons per square inch at Titanic level. Others said 6000lb per square inch, which is 3 tons. Someone else said 125 million lbs pressure was on the entire sub.
@@RubiaStorm Not sure. He was on a NewsNation video.
6000lbs a square inch. It's a fairly big sub. so all the pressure surrounding the entire sub, every inch of it, could make sense, but I doubt it.
Another guy just said the people inside vaporized when the sub imploded and then they were crushed. He might be wrong too, and probably is.
@@RubiaStorm James Cameron said two things. He said the sub was ascending when it imploded because sensor alarms were going off in the sub as the interior hull was cracking.
Then he said the sub was descending when it imploded. He's covered all his bases.
All the vultures diving in.
Like a crisp bag popping outside of bag
It wasn't shortly, but the same time.
At the same time is less accurate than shortly after, the sound had to travel through the water to the detectors which then sent the information to wherever their computers are located. They lost contact likely because of the implosion so that happened at the same time but the detection of it by the military was moments apart.
@@lololololol3295 True, but "shortly after" can create a contextual variable that can be misleading.
@@rushmore3927 Shortly after can be interpreted as minutes at most and anyone who can think properly for themselves will understand that it was seconds after. Nonetheless it is still less "misleading" than saying it happened at the same time. I don't understand your point.
@@lololololol3295 From the standpoint of location and implosion signature timing, it is more accurate than "shortly after". Semantics in the face of the oxygen countdown by the media was an intentional, or ignorant charade.
@@rushmore3927 for air time and viewers yeah, they had something to talk about for the whole week instead of saying the sub imploded and then be done with it in one evening. No biggie, they weren't pushing an agenda in this case. The outcome wouldn't have been different.
Sad to say, but it sounds like the sub operated exactly as designed. The designers were just painfully unaware of what that was or they left the company awhile ago or were forced out.
Is this guy saying TIME or TONS??????
Tons
Why are all these people couldn’t get the controller right. I guess they don’t play much video games.
So was there any welding done on this sub the thresher is the only sub that was lost at sea
USS Scorpion, the Russian sub Kursk, etc.
Everybody talking about this submarine but nobody’s talk about this missing people, what is chance to recover bodies, did they ever gonna be able to recover bodies
I keep hearing this but can’t visualize it but I think I’m fine without knowing
Zero chance. They are sea dust unfortunately
@@Lulumelon333look up air pressure steel barrel tests on YT. Then imagine that flattening times 10 with bodies inside. Under that pressure the skin goes inward while the internals spew outward. There are no "bodies" to recover sadly.
My heart bleeds all day every day because thats how our bodies work
No, your heart pumps blood all day. every day. Bleeding only takes place when blood escapes the circulatory system.
why does the government have to pay for a debris clean up of an certified can?
What source did they use to validate the integral strength of the carbon fiber hull after each use?
Nobody here will know the answer to that. Wait until the official report is out months from now
I don't think it was ever tested. Carbon fiber is made for tensile strength not pressure. It was actually put on wrong from the beginning. It is supposed to be crossed over one another. They had it over top of it self in a circular motion.
They didn't need any tests. Everyone knows that carbon fiber tells you with a specific series of cracks that it's going to fail. You then have 3 hours to get to safety before it breaks. At least that's what the CEO believed.
reckless and greed
I simply cannot believe that this can happen in this day & time. With all of the regulatory bodies and red tape around safety, that a contraption like this could be allowed to sell tickets to the depth of the sea floor outfitted with parts from the hardware store??????? IT WILL NEVER MAKE SENSE.
So everyone knew that this sub was a possible death trap. Then how come all these people coming forward now didn’t do anything about it !
These comments need to be left at the moment there are four
families trying to come to terms with this tragedy.
I find all this in extremely bad taste.
Leave it right now. Have a heart.
they can't stop oceangate
Oceangate was sued one times by a former employee that said the sub is not safe and another time by another expert in the field. Numerous people warned Oceangate that their sub is unsafe, almost the whole dive community tried to warn them. What else could they do?
@@JapKonoko they could do what they are doing now. Making video after video and tv programs continually, that is if the law doesn’t help.
Shut up Janet
I so hope the xBox controller is ok?
How is this possible?
Arrogance and ego.
The navy was no where near sea at that are Look sunday
Properly the PS5 controller stick drift, cused it!
The whole vessel was unsafe. Rush was a dreamer who killed four people with his idiotic tinpot sub. The window was only rated to 1300 metres not 4000. Wonder why it went bang?
Doubt it was actually the window. It was most likely that carbon fiber hull. A friend of the CEO said he went on the 2nd trip in that sub and it was already making cracking noises. He said it made those cracking noises every time it went down.
like a coat hanger?
Stockton rush was wrong with all he did
It was poorly made that’s what happened. Just leave it on the ocean floor
It wasnt a ps5 contoller. Why is ther so much misinformation on this story. Literally ther is so much that is not being said or covered
It’s a generic Logitech controller. Don’t get caught up on semantics.
The only thing that hasn’t been officially reported yet is whether the implosion occurred while they were still descending, or if they attempted to surface first and it occurred on ascent. Everything else has been determined
they would of done better using a ps controller 😅
Does it really matter which game controller it was?? Any one would of made me turn and run! So tragic and sad.
@@janetd569 misinformation is the disease of society. If you're going to report, report the facts. If it was your family you'd be asking for the same respect
@@alant9517 It would be a waste of time to ask the media to be correct this day and age as most of them are paid to lie! Unfortunately they like keeping us in the dark! But regardless which game controller it was is so irrelevant to most! The fact that the CEO used cheap bolts and other materials should be a major concern. And the fact that he was even able to get paid and risk lives is the most important issue at hand.
May they all R.I.P.
OSHA!!
And cheap outdated carbon fiber from Boeing.
The sounds they heard were the five members knocking on Heaven's door 🙏
I disagree. They KNEW they were risking their lives because they signed a waiver!
Creepy to sign a death waiver and it actually comes into fruition
Was the last words from a abort mission?
How many people in the world willing to throw away $200000 dollar for a few hours trip under the ocean floor ? it must be money come from heaven . what do you get out of it ? seeing fish and ship wreck. so much fun????
Hey David...tell me what an implosion is..while I explain to you what an implosion is..??? My grandson can come up with better questions...
As a deep industrial diver for a large science corp I can say down at that depth, its hard to see. my last dive at the titanic was 5 months ago and had only my usual wetsuit system called a recoil air system. i was there for about 2 hours. i am part of the team that is welding the sides back on the titanic so it stays in one piece when we bring it to surface. I saw the titan as it imploded . the amount of blood and guts that spewed out was amazing. i even saw a fish eat an eyeball.
