Thanks. This is VERY helpful. I am a stills shooter (with a bad back from years of lugging around camera bags) who is just learning video. My back has actually been quite good for the past few years, but I suddenly got pain when I bought a gimbal. Ditching a lot of gear is a great tip. I’ll check out more of your videos. Glad I found your channel.

Great video! Nice to hear someone recommend a light, minimal gimbal set up. Couldn't agree more that it just ends up getting in the way, and unnecessary weight. Love the lighting in your studio too 👏

All valid tips Chris! Tip number 6: Develop your core, a strong core will keep you back stable with less pain :)

Oooh the weightlifting belt is a stroke of genius. We've been struggling with aching backs since we started doing all our own camera work about a year ago. The thousands we've saved on videographers has gone straight to chiropractors... 😂 We're only using an a7III on a shoulder rig, and even that is killing us after a few hours.
    Cheers mate!

Great bit of insight and could not agree more about the lightweight setup. I connected my Desview monitor to the Weebill-S with A7iii when I got it and it was on there for 10 mins. Came straight off and I went back to the rear monitor. It's perfect for pretty much every type of shot other than jib with the monopod. Nice one, Chris. 👍

Hey Chris! I’m 19 and since I’ve got a new, heavier lens I get bad upper-back pain when filming with my gimbal I believe it’s because it’s front heavy but I’m not sure

you dont want to keep this belt on for too long as well! that can do serious damage from your muscles relax too much. but keep it light is the best tip! weebill s and a6400 for me!

i get the pain in my forearms and front area of my shoulders >.<
and also..my eyes get really strained looking at the back of a a7r3 on a gimbal
and then i get headaches cause it feels like my aperture rings in my eyes keep going from like f2 to f16 back and forth from back of screen to whats happening in front of the camera. etc etc
