But in the modern timeline, China has become one of the stronger countries, thus Yao is much more confident/arrogant, not afraid of anyone, and seen casually approaching Ivan, talking, sitting with him, etc. (Also, it's interesting that Russia/Ivan is far less whitewashed in Hetalia than other countries, if you treat every major country the same way, they would all be super toxic.)
