    I have three daughters with long hair, and I have been TRYING to get this for years. Thank you for your easy-to-follow instrucons. The "two finger" thing at the top of the twist is what made this invaluable!

    I gotta say it's the best explanation I've ever seen! I understood how to do it and I finally got it! After watching thousands of videos, yours was the one that helped me achieving the French twist! Thank you!

    First of all you have beautiful hair. Out of all the twist tutorials, yours is one of the best. You make it look so easy and give thorough instructions without saying a lot of nothing. Thanks for the great video!

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video! I was never able to really do a French twist until I tried your "two finger" loop at the top of the twist. Now I can (usually) nail it!

    Thank you so much! I have VERY thick long hair, and after years (and far too many UA-cam tutorials) of battling the frustratingly beautiful French twist, I finally came out with one that looks nice! It will definitely still take some practice, but I'm on my way thanks to you! =)

    Thank you for this! I have long thick hair too and haven't figured out how to do this, but always wanted to wear my hair this way to 'dress up'. So classic and looks easy the way you showed it. Thanks too, for showing me the pins to use. Makes a difference!

    I just found this video and am soooo grateful. I also have long very thick hair and have been looking for ways to put it up. All others I have seen have been gals with thin hair and their styles never work for me. Thanks very much for sharing how you handle your long thick hair!

    This feels like such a stewardess hairstyle. I love it! I’ve tried to do multiple French twist videos but they never addressed long thick hair. This actually feels doable. Plus I high key love those pins.

    This was very helpful. My eleven year old daughter came to me out if the blue and asked me to french twist her hair. I had no clue how to accomplish this feat whilst looking like a hero to my kid. So, UA-cam to the rescue! All the other videos we watched prior to this one required copious amounts of SEVERAL different hair products. No thank you. We were able to do it without any hair spray, only used about 5-6 bobby pins and it was super fast! Looks great too. Thank you!

    Really loved this video. It was easy and you got straight to the point without telling us about all kind of unnecessary stuff what we cannot afford anyway. It was just you and your, may I say very gorgeous hair. Absolutely loved it, definitely going to try this soon. xoxo

  • @SmittyKat

    Thanks for the compliment, I am glad it helped you!
    A tip for longer hair would be to twist the hair a bit looser, to make room for the extra hair that will be tucked under the twist. Also, keep looping the hair up and down like the very first loop I made after the hair was twisted. Just keep making them until you have all your hair looped and twisted, and then fold and tuck the hair under the original twist. I have the feeling that made absolutely no sense lol

    Now I finally know how to do it with my stupid long, thick hair! Thank you! I don't have bangs/fringe, but I managed to do basically the same thing aside from that, even with really smooth, natural, wavy, Lebanese hair.
    My hair is such a pain in the butt sometimes, but it's really pretty so I like to keep it long (tail bone length), but I want to do different things with it sometimes, without damaging it.

  • @SmittyKat
    @SmittyKat  11 років тому

    Yes. When doing the original twist, make sure you don't twist too tightly, and don't twist all the way to the scalp. Leave room underneath the twist to tuck in the extra hair that you have. You might even want to use some nice small butterfly clips on the twist to keep the extra hair tucked in. These will give a bit more control than the large bobby pins, but also use the large bobby pins in tandem with the clips. This should work. Let me know if you have any trouble.

    Awesome tutorial for long hair, thank you!!

  • @SmittyKat
    @SmittyKat  11 років тому

    I don't use heat tools on my hair :-) I usually squish the pins down so that the space between the two sides of the pin is thin, and then that way when they spread out a bit going into your hair, they don't open up to this huge size. You also have to use a lot of them.

  • @SmittyKat
    @SmittyKat  12 років тому

    Also, make sure to twist A LOT, this will help eat up a lot of the length of your hair. Then after that first big twist, take your hand and pull the twist away from your scalp a little. This will help make the pocket that you have to tuck excess hair into a bit bigger, so that tucking will be easier and you won't run out of space.
