I think it's saying that you must move forward no matter the cost. That the world will always be cruel but beautiful. That the cycle of life and death is unending no matter what happens. Time will always march forward with or without you
Yes exactly. At first I thought it was just a uniquely-angled battle manga, then it became a body horror manga, then it became a mystery/ suspense manga, then a war manga, and finally a eldritch existential horror manga.
Yeah. In the beginning of the series, its foreshadowing that Armin survive to the end of war and become the most important man to ensure peace to the eldian. He is telling the story from start to the end.
Today I am a 52 year old man. I have two teenage children and I entered this universe through them. I am immensely grateful to Hajime Isayama for allowing me the experience of sharing this masterpiece with my children. I hope to God that I can still be alive to see Eren coming out of that tree.
Such a genius song writing where the Linked Horizon put a small detail in 1:35 as the drum beating slowly, which like symbolizing Eren last heartbeat as the screen turn into dark.
This song fits like a glove to this ending scene. The sadness, depression, the melancholy of history, the new world, the war begin anew, the history repeated itself and the beginning of the new ending. Linked Horizon is so amazing. I still can't stop crying listening to this song and from watching then end scene of AoT anime. This anime full of life lesson here. It fit with our modern world issue. Thank you Hajime Isayama for creating this manga in the first place. Thank you WIT Studio and MAPPA Studio for bringing this anime to life. Thank you Hiroyuki Sawano for creating the song that enchance the atmosphere of the anime. Thank you Linked Horizon for creating a song fit for AOT from the beginning to the end series. Thank you to all the other band group for singing the opening and ending song of AOT series. Thank you to all voice actors and actress for bringing life to these anime character. Without you guys, AOT will never be amazing like this. Thank you so much.
@@konosekai1193 yeah. That's why I like the ending. The ending hurts so much but it fit the real life human characteristic. What Eren did is cruel, but it did give a chance for his friends to save their people. To us his decision is bad, but to him, its the only way to save them.
I love how the manga readers anticipated everyone was going to hate the ending when it’s the exact opposite. I watched the finale knowing the ending was hated. After I finished it I was like what didn’t people like about it?
i am someone who adamantly didnt like the ending when it came out. To me my main issues were that it seemed like there were several plot holes in the finale. The most ergerious one for me and what i probably dislike the most is that killing zeke stops the rumbling. Eren freeing ymir in that beautiful scene where he gives her a choice for the first time in 2000 years is one of my all time favorite scenes in any anime. I had always intererpeted it as Ymir finally being free from the influence of the royals, considering she actively chooses to defy one. Yet apparently zeke was still needed. Furthermore even after zeke dies, eren is still somewhat able to use the founder, which doesnt make a lot of sense. As he is able to transform into a collosal titan. Then the thing with the worm, that would apprently start the rumbling again if eren makes contact with it, which would mean that zeke wouldnt be needed for it, which also doesnt make sense since the thing bursted from within erens titan form, meaning it shouldve already been in contact with him. That whole plot point feels very messy and although the anime does try to explain Eren's new transformation as being him having a lot of willpower to keep going, which doesnt make a lot of sense since he basically lets himself be killed 5 minutes later. Another issue many had was historia's baby. In the manga historia's child was being born right as zeke died, and throughout the whole series there had been mentions of a titan shifters power being transfered to the first newborn eldian baby if the shifter died without being eaten. So when historia's baby inevitably didnt really matter much, that was another thing people were upset about. A lot of people were also not a fan of Mikasa being the key to Ymir's freedom, as it seemed somewhat out of nowhere compared to that scene with eren and ymir in paths. Also, many were hoping for a darker ending, something like what was depicted in the akatsuki no requiem music video. Those are my main reasons for why i wasnt a fan of the ending, but im glad you're able to enjoy it! i hope this helped to clear up some confusion :)
@@kalk.2983Many people were hoping for what???? From the ones I've seen alot more wanted a happier ending instead of a very bittersweet ending, I always figured and prayed that the main villain would've been ymir Shoot I really wouldn't have cared what kind of bs they would've pulled to make ymir the main villain of the story physically, I just wanted to see eren and mikasa live out their days with each other. It also really pained me to see his conversation with armin, at the end of the day he is a 19 year old. A bloody teenager having all this power and seeing the future and the fate of the people he cares about, hell he didn't even knew if most of them were gonna live after the events, when he had his "pathetic" scene I literally could not stop feeling like crap, a person just barely starting out in life just getting taken away from the people he loves just so they can live long lives. It's way too much to bare honestly, That's why I wanted a happier ending because AOT is just so depressing, Eren deserved alot better. But I'm content with the ending :) guess it's something I have to accept!
@@CYN2207 i guess me saying many people mightve been something i worded incorrectly. I spend a lot of time in circles with people who like the darker ending ideas that would be proposed in the Akatsuki No Requiem music video, Thats me having a bit of a biased thought process i guess. If you're unaware, the video is still up for interpretation and the person who made the video has gone on reccord to say they arent allowed to even talk about the meaning even after the anime ends, but the common consensus of the video is that it depicts eren after a 100% rumbling, where he had to kill his friends to complete it. He spends his days mourning them and feeling terrible about the whole thing. On the surface, it seems quite edgy, but i always saw it as poetically tragic and beautiful. When Eren had talked about freedom in the past, it had always involved his friends, like seeing the ocean WITH armin. So Eren loses sight of what was actually important to him, he becomes a "slave to freedom" like he says in the anime. He has acheived the ultimate freedom, there is no one left to stop him, no one to harm him or his people, but he has no one to spend it with. He ends up wasting this freedom that he sacrificed everything to acheive, and i think that would've been an amazing ending. I have actually not seen people complaining the ending was too dark and wanting a happier ending, ive only ever seen the opposite, saying that the ending was too happy. I guess that just shows how vast and wide the AOT fandom is. Regardless of the opinion one has on the ending, i think that this negative labeling needs to stop. I see on both sides of the AOT community, of ending enjoyers and haters, name calling eachother. Saying things to put the others down, or assuming that just because you like/dislike the ending, you are the same as the absoloutely worst people on either side of the ending debate. This truly goes against the spirit of AOT, being to not judge someone just because they are a part of a group that you dont understand. The entire conflict of the series is because of this, and its incredibly ironic to see the community do the one thing the show openly went against. You would've thought that it was clear enough with characters like Gabi learning that everyone on paradis is not as bad as she thought and that theyre just people like her. Im honestly just glad to have a peaceful discusion on the matter, ive never actually participated in ending debates online before because they get so nasty and hostile, im curious as to what your thoughts are on the Akatsuki No Requiem video and the theory around it :)
@@kalk.2983 Hmm I never even knew there was a whole theory revolved on that specific ED, I always found it more mysterious than all the other ones and a bit uhh how do you word this.... a bit nostalgic? I always figured it was about Ymir, I saw a comment about it that compared it to most of the events that happened to ymir and the ED was similar in that aspect, Though I don't really know anything more than that The cycle repeats even in the AoT community 😂 like most of them learned nothing lol, I personally don't like the ending but I won't ever bash anyone for liking it, at the end of the day some will like it and some won't. I'd hoped for a happy ending because just how gloomy and depressing the world is and AoT is in general. Been in this Rollercoaster of playing games and watching animes that have had bittersweet or sad endings lately 😭 But if there's anything I'm happy about is that Mikasa and most of the others got to live a long n happy life.
@@CYN2207 i think you're a bit mistaken, im not refering to the ED, im refering to this music video made for the full 4 minute song. ill post the link at the end of this reply. ua-cam.com/video/OrQ0zZArUV8/v-deo.html

Erin gave his friends time to live in peace until they pass away. The cycle couldn’t be stopped and Erin knew this. Rest in peace all the fallen heroes who died fighting for peace.
He wants to give them a chance to live happily in exchange for his life. He wants them to be free from the life of the cage and like cattle to titan. It hurts, it painful and full of sacrifice but he is willing to do it. It is truly the path of hell is paved of good intention.
@@thaqwacarpet3685 bad intentions He is selfish reasons. His evil genocide backfired. That is not good intentions. He murdered children and innocent people along the way he become evil he fought.
@@Gadget-ELJMordino126-yt9cidid you watch the show? His plan worked perfectly. There is no backfiring. His friends lived out their lives in peace. What happened later literally didn’t matter to Eren, just like murdering billions didn’t matter. I feel that the requiem part was so peaceful. A quiet ending, exactly mikasa would have wanted. Buried beside eren, surrounded with love from her friends.

to think that Armin is Narrator of the whole series, it hits more than what I thought
Yeah. In the beginning of the series, its foreshadowing that Armin survive to the end of war and become the most important man to ensure peace to the eldian. He is telling the story from start to the end.
Yep every prologue in series is Armin 's voice
No wonder the narrator feel so familiar. It's Armin's adult voice

So you mean the narrator in this song is Armin??

From the ones I've seen alot more wanted a happier ending instead of a very bittersweet ending, I always figured and prayed that the main villain would've been ymir
Shoot I really wouldn't have cared what kind of bs they would've pulled to make ymir the main villain of the story physically, I just wanted to see eren and mikasa live out their days with each other.
I always figured it was about Ymir, I saw a comment about it that compared it to most of the events that happened to ymir and the ED was similar in that aspect, Though I don't really know anything more than that
The cycle repeats even in the AoT community 😂 like most of them learned nothing lol, I personally don't like the ending but I won't ever bash anyone for liking it, at the end of the day some will like it and some won't.
I'd hoped for a happy ending because just how gloomy and depressing the world is and AoT is in general.
Been in this Rollercoaster of playing games and watching animes that have had bittersweet or sad endings lately 😭
But if there's anything I'm happy about is that Mikasa and most of the others got to live a long n happy life.

エレンの根源的な欲求(いらん他人のいるところ全部ぺっちゃんこに踏み潰して、自分の望む光景を手にしたい)こそ、まさに人類が争いを行う源で、だから人間の宿命として争いは無くならないし、
