thankyou so much! Ive always wanted to do this on one of my windows but I thought I needed special pens and just never did. my boyfriend told me I could use our chalk markers and I did not know that until today! this is very inspiring and helpful, thank you so much for the tips and making this!
Happy creating Rachel, I’m sure you’ll really enjoy transforming your windows. To anyone else reading, yes you do need special pens, chalk paint pens, these should rub off cleanly when the season is over, I have a pack that say window art, so please make 100% sure
Brilliant! I often draw on my windows, with my finger, when they steam up on cold nights. But this way I'll be able to use these great big "canvases" all year around! Thanks so much for the idea. 😊
Thank you for this. I decorate our class window foe each book we read, double sided picture for the characters and pens for their names. It never entered my head to use templates. Will have to be inside ones, i don't think I can reach up enough outside! xx
I'm thinking of decorating the windows at the care home where I work. Could I mix chalk pens and acrylic paint for larger areas (I'm thinking Flamingos and Palm trees)
The flamingos and palm trees 🌴 sound gorgeous but personally I wouldn’t mix with acrylic paint. I’ve not tried before but you could try a chalk and water mixture maybe and then sponge it on for lighter larger areas….just a thought, but I’d go in with all window pens. Best of luck 😊❤️
Hi Sarah! I've really been enjoying all of your videos and have binged most of the air dry clay ones. Have you tried the chalk markers on any of your clay projects? What were your results? Would I just be best to stick with acrylic paint/markers? Thanks in advance and have a great day!! Magee
Hi Magee, Thank you, I have tried them on the clay yes, I love to give everything a go ❤️ Acrylic markers are better if you have them, but the chalk goes on well and to set it I actually sprayed it with hairspray and then added spray lacquer over the top, just try to not smudge in the process ❤️ Thanks, Sarah
Right after I posted my question , I logged into Arteza and ordered their acrylic markers. While there, I also saw the chalk markers at a lower price and hurried back to ask your opinion. I have an impulse control problem... LOLOL!! 🙃 Thanks again!!
It lasts till you choose to rub it off, unless you get windows in the winter that get damp. The kids did some designs on internal glass doors and it literally lasted forever! Till someone wipes it! Thanks
I must be doing something wrong because mine do not work as well on my windows. Maybe I'm not shaking it up enough or letting the ink fully get into the tip.
Yes really get them working and I guess if they’re nearly empty they will want holding more upright for the chalk paint to flow to the tip, keep persevering 😊
@@RedRockingBird shaking them for 30 seconds did the trick. Before, I did have ink flowing, but it wasn't very consistent and so things looked very blotchy. Now, it looks great.
What would you draw first?
the buildings!

I hadn’t thought of using paper templates - I’ll try that this year. I use a cotton bud for cleaning up mistakes, they are nice and precise. 😀
super and thank you for the tip, cotton buds would be perfect yes, enjoy

What do you actually use to clean it off the windows once your ready?
Absolutely gorgeous 😊
Thank you, nearly time to do some new designs on my windows 😁🌲
I have searched higg and low for the Noel in circle - what font is it please? 😊
Hmmmm not sure, Google Noel text and. See if a nice one comes up that you can print out maybe?

Looks so nice! Does it come off easy?
It wipes off easy yes, thank you 😊
How do you prevent the ink running down the window
The ink flows enough so that it draws on the window, never had the ink running
why did you not trace directly over the template?
How do you mean? 😊
