Rear doors don't open, defeats the purpose by making life harder No back seat is no excuse, you need it even more for that very reason Who wants to hurt there back putting their tools in and out of it... no one Not practical is an understatement YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GASLIGHT ME !
I think in a few years ..after toyota sorts out it's problems this will be the best option .. convert rear with a wreaked Trail hunter rear ... suspenion ...
Jeff, Game changer is an understatement. We used to see 5:18 a fold-flat front passenger seat in hatchbacks, wagons and SUVs but now we can only find it in a 2 door pickup? 🤔I hope the XTra Cab Tacoma inspires Toyota to bring back a basic XTra Cab Tundra with an 8 foot bed. 🤩🤩
My theory... It is obvious that Toyota intended the "Xtra Cab" to have rear hinged doors like the previous generation "Access Cab". What got in the way at the last minute was the NHTSA and their modern crash safety standards which disallowed the rear doors. It is so apparent as access to the rear cargo area in the 2024 Xtra Cab is abysmal! So much good room and many storage areas that are hard to reach. Picture having some heavy tools or a tool box back there and having to reach way out and lift them over the front seat. Ridiculous! This is one of the reasons why I purposely bought new a 2023 SR 4x4 Access Cab, 4 cylinder, knowing all about the coming 2024. The only thing I would like in my 2023 that the 2024 has is more power. But knowing my under stressed naturally aspirated 4 cylinder is a proven 500,000+ mile engine makes me smile more than 90 more horsepower would.
Hey Jeff, the power specs you stated are actually not correct. This being an SR base, has the de-tuned fleet version of the 2.4T makes significantly less power. Thanks for the video!
Bought a 2021 TRD off road four-door short bed four-wheel drive with the rear window power driver seat dual air controls in front nice Wheels nice seats for 38,000 out the door back in 2021 not that long ago and this is what you get for $38,000 3 years later? Absolutely ridiculous. Still love you though Jeff don't blame you
All I can say is Toyota continues to just baffle me, no access doors, what’s the point? What engineer and what focus group thought this was a good idea. The Gen 4’s leave a lot to be desired, I’ll drive my Gen 3 forever if this is the way Toyota is going!
New chassis is designed for independent suspension. Clearly they didn’t plan for leaf springs but still wanted to cut cost so they just slapped them on even though they look absolutely ridiculous.

I still wish it had the little back doors that open because it would make accessing the storage even easier
That makes no sense - Toyota
@ Actually, it makes perfect sense.
or like the old Saturn coupe, put a rear door on one side. Come on Toyota!
Access Cab, with less access. Thanks for nothing. My dogs hop right in my old tacoma with ac.

Man if they make this in TRD Off-road I'd be driving one right now.

$37k for a base Toyota!!! What on earth is going on!!! How can you say it’s a good deal!!
They should’ve kept the other steelies, these one make it look even cheaper
Yup they look like the spare tire wheels.
I wish this cab configuration was available on the higher trim levels. An extra cab with trd off road would be great.
Nice but I still think it needs the back door that the old one had.
Is this the one with the blow-up motor? Transmission too ?
So funny bro
That’s the sploder motor
All Toyota pickups are a disappointment in comparison to the last generation..
The 2.4t is a solid motor. There were a few early 8 speed autos and a lot of 6 speed manuals that had issues. The truck is solid now.
This truck what the hell man. The back doors don’t even open???
Pass
Contractor’s dream truck with all that storage!
Right on
Except for no deck rail system. A contractor would need that for sure.
Yeah if you are 4ft 11,this thing is a Joke, but im also living my 2014 TRD SPORT EX- CAB 6 ft bed
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 Jeff!
like the useful 6' box but, none for sale them in so California sales region same with the trd pre runners
The dealer lots are loaded with high level trims no one wants, but there is no inventory of basic trucks people want.
Problem with the base sr model Toyota takes away 50 hp from the engine. What a bs move.
Probably a special order vehicle too as it's a base of a base model

2019 TRD PRO owner in Voodoo Blue, and I paid 42,800 brand new. 😮 I'm definitely keeping her with 39000 miles 🫡🍻
They 70k out the door for the new ones with smaller engine, what have they done
37,500 + for a stripper. A few years back you could have got a Tacoma V6 Sport TRD four-wheel drive for the same price. TOYOTA IS CRAZY..
#stripper
Hey jeff, can you please do a review of TRD sport with the 14 inche screen option only.
@@DerrolGibson I’ll see if I can find a TRD sport with the 14” screen for you!
Extra cab with no access... really poor design !!

I absolutely love your humor and quirkiness. I can absolutely relate ..HIYA! 🤪😂😂😂

If I were to buy another Extra Cab 4x4 I would get an SR5. Thanks Jeff and Merry Christmas!!!

This is how my 2012 Toyota Tundra 2 door was!
I think the SR hp is less.
Everything about it is less but the price... SMH
It is 50 hp less
more durable

That's my choice, in Pre-Runner!
the fake vent below lights makes it look like its crying
just put cushions in the back for seats
🎶Jeffrey’s a cumma, cumma, cumma, cumma, cumma Cammeleon! Jeffrey comes and goes, he comes a go ooo oh’s……🎶
That’s a nice Truck
why the leaf spring hanging so low? it looks horrible

I was wondering if you would ever do a review of the Tacoma Extra Cab Jeff. I used to own one for 9 years and it was a 4x4!!
Actually, this is the first one I think I’ve seen at the dealership. I jumped all over it.
New Taco not looking good, my 2022 way better and cheaper.
Sorry bro nobody is buying this trash now dealers are stacking them up on top of each other😢
Absolute junk and way overpriced!!!
That thing will be in the scrap yard in 3 years!!!!
ILL NEVER NEED OR WANT AN ECOBOOST ENGINE
NO TY
Only 50 k so cheap
How much!!! Good lord. That’s a 20k truck at best. That’s all it will ever be
It's a bummer Toyota just offers the Xtracab in stripper trim or a 2WD. Make a TRD offroad and people will buy it.
Overpriced junk
Exhaust on the drivers side throws me off!
