Fantastic find, the nesting herons. An unusually exotic bird but I always think they've got such a loud, harsh skwark. Always lovely to see.

we've never walked the North Wall and looking at the mud might leave it a while. I suspect it's a lot less walked than the other side. Amazing pictures of the herons, we have a heronry close to home but they're way up, must be very unusual to see them so low. Medmerry has lovely surfaced footpaths.

Yes best to leave the mud behind on the North Wall . Summer coming 🙏. So lucky to almost be eye level with the Herons . Same problem with my local Heronry too high up to see the action. 🤔

Hi Mark, as you say what a brilliant end to the day. I think herons are fantastic birds to photograph but to get them nest building is superb. All the best Steve.

Totally agree, great to get them low down in the trees normally a Crane required 🙂

There's an Osprey there at the moment (or was on 4thJune). Spends the day sitting on a post on the north side so a dot for those of us walking the south route.

A great video and a great location. I go there from time to time and must get back there - just want some better weather!!!! Last September I photographed a large number of Cattle Egret in the area where you have video's the Grey Herons

Thanks 👍 I was told Cattle Egret but only saw one Little Egret. In Salisbury Little Egrets share the Heronry it's amazing !
