Could you make a cover of Beat the Devils Tattoo?
Any guitar you touch is bound to sound like a $10,000 guitar. Great video man!
My duuuude. Hope you’re doing well, brother!
Lol. A good guitar player with a bad guitar sounds better than a bad guitar player with a good guitar. Great video Nathan!!🙌
Say it again for the people in the back! 🙌
Wow, now we have a firm grasp of the obvious. Thsnks
Of course!!
What about a great guitar player with a good guitar? 😊
My first instructor used to say, “An expensive guitar does not a guitarist make. Take this course, it’s worth every penny.
Thank you for your trust, Kathy!
I definitely agree with this l recently bought a new guitar, l was a bit disappointed that it didn’t sound 11x better than my cheap beginner guitar but after a while l took pride in that my diligent practice over the years, allowed me to push my cheap instrument to sound almost as good as the more expensive one, that said the more expensive instrument allowed me to do more as it almost feels like it’s playing for you in a sense, it takes less mental bandwidth so it allows you to push rather than fight you as you evolve.
Very well said
Yes. I got to play an $8k French Luthier guitar and sound was very big with so little effort. Playability is what you really find a difference in with high end. There are definitely some of spring for if I were rich.
Did the cheap guitar sound better or worse than you expected? Let me know in a comment!
better
Obviously worse, but I kinda appreciate that low tone it has for some kind of pieces.
So beautiful. Fun when you post your own pieces. Love how you honor that little guitar with your big gift of music that inspires.
I don't know if I'm more impressed by how good you make the 100$ Yamaha sound, or how much more innovative your promos are getting. Anyone interested in learning to play guitar, I highly recommend this course which I went through myself. It's simply excellent.
*PERFECT* example of the guitarist's skill determining how great a guitar sounds. Listening with my eyes closed I could only hear the guitar changes by concentrating and listening very carefully and focused.
Aaaaannnd yet another beautiful piece I want to learn! Awesome as always, Teacher!
Thanks Chris! This is a fun one for sure
That's a dope course graphic
Your compositions are amazing…
Love that you can squeeze such a lovely sound out of a cheap guitar. I remember when I upgraded from my old guitar (which I got for free and my teacher reckoned was £40 forty years ago) to my current one which I think was about £500. It was such a huge step up but I'm glad I got a good one when I did because it made me appreciate how nice my current one really is.
honestly i think i liked the tone of the cheaper guitar better for this song, it just sounded a little warmer and fuller which suited this piece well.
My brother once bought the same Yamaha childrens guitar, and although it’s not a good guitar I always love to play it when I come to visit. For some reason it’s a lot of fun
No musician, I am an artist here, in the middle of a discussion of working materials I had this friend who became my teacher years later. He was sharpening a pencil and drawing an incredible and realistic face on his desk with the graphite powder and his finger. The discussion ended there. No matter how many expensive materials you buy because that will not make you better, only the practice. On the other hand, practice makes it possible for you to enjoy good and expensive materials and makes them look better, taking out their full potential. (greatings from Argentina, sorry for my English)
No denying everything ya do has style and a sound that allures and enchants so whatever you touch bestows musical gold!
Love the piece! Those little Yamahas sound great for the price, I always recommend them to my young students
That was really cool!!
Glad you liked it Elijah
For someone like me, who doesn’t play guitar and doesn’t necessarily have discerning ears, the two guitars sounded almost the same. I’m sure someone more knowledgable would be able to pick up more of a difference, but like the others have pointed out, skill definitely matters more than the price of the guitar itself.
Your ear gets much better when you play. It's just familiarity.
Now THIS is how people need to do guitar comparisons! Excellent video!
I love guitar but I'm not a connaisseur. To me there was a clear difference between the 2 guitars, the cheap one sounded more dry-like, like the sound didn't last long. Whereas the expensive guitar had a lot more vibration and lasting sounds, kind of like an atmosphere sound. Maybe I'm crazy but that's how it sounded like to me. I wouldn't say the cheap one sounded bad, they're just different.
You composed a beautiful piece! 👏
Thanks! You gonna try to learn it?
@@BeyondTheGuitar I don't play guitar, but I'm going to forward it to a friend of mine who plays 😉
This man can make even a piece of wood with strings to sound like a masterpiece
Could you go over how they feel to play? How does the action feel?
Other than the small size, the cheap guitar actually feels really nice. It has a noticeably lower action than my nice guitar. But high-end classical guitars often have higher action to allow you to play louder - since you can pluck the strings harder without worrying about them rattling against the frets
Agreed it’s a lot about your fingers and technique. If you know what your doing you can make any guitar sound good. A more expensive instrument is only necessary when your technique skill level is above the instrument and the instrument is holding you back
Will definitely have to consider joining, have been considering so for a while. Also little guy did have kind of a fun tone haha

What ive learned from a decade plus of playing is that even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sometimes a cheaply made guitar gets put together perfect and it sounds like heaven, by pure coincidence. There was a $100 yamaha and it was the most "musical" of any acoustic guitar ive ever played. It was already gone when payday came around :( se la vie *smokes cigarette*
I've never played a crappy 100 dollar guitar with intonation that good. Usually they start going flat by the time you reach the 7th fret
What a great deal! Sign me up!!
Of course, there is a difference in the sound, it can be heard, probably there is a difference in the keyboard as well. But not 9900 dollars :)
There's a solid difference.
But that tremolo, though *chief's kiss*.
Hey could you upload this to Spotify or SoundCloud ?
As a person that knows little about guitars, I would have thought that the cheap one is just some other, special type that has that sound signature on purpose. I think it sounds worse, but only due to my preferences, and not because I can detect some sort of harmonic interferece or noise.
In other words, 10k is a massive waste of money.
Both sound wonderful. But in your hands, I suspect a tin can with a string would sound great. I did subscribe to your fingerstyle class yesterday. I am already getting benefits. I really appreciate your teaching techniques. Totally unlike any I’ve experienced before.
Thanks so much for joining! Already getting benefits, can’t wait to hear from you in 90 days 🤘
Hello, I would like to buy a new classical guitar (I have a cheap guitar atm, Eko Cs-10). Any suggestion ? How is the Yamaha C40II. Please help :D
hey, which western guitar can you recommend me up to 300 euros
One question, what guitar do you use?
THE NAME OF THE SONG YOU PLAY WHAT IS IT?
SONG?
One thing to remember here is that Yamaha makes ridiculously good budget guitars.
Outstanding video. You can't buy skill. :)
I practiced guitar for a 3 years every day for 5 hours. Observe my progress🚀
3 years is not that long m8, especialy when it comes to mastering an instrument
@@mr.m4524 I agree! The fun is just beginning)
@@10.000 You have a teacher? For classical music its invaluable
@@mr.m4524 Yes. I study with a teacher
@@10.000 Keep it up than. Good luck :)
10k for a guitar? That's crazy.
Agree. After about 3k you're just paying for a name , there is nothing magical that can be done to a guitar that lots of money can buy. I'll give an example, my brother has a 5500 dollar Luthier made guitar and my 2k Coroba sounds more lyrical and plays nicer. He agrees.
Good nails and good practice 👍🏽
Do you go over tremolo in your course?
Not currently. But I might add that as un update in the future. If you click the link you can get an overview of every lesson taught in the course.
the one you use for all your videos
What I noticed is that the 10k guitar obviously sounded deeper. The smaller guitar has higher pitch. both sound amazing
Yeah definitely a wider tonal and dynamic range
I was wondering did you use the original string on the cheap guitar ? I buyed one for my son few years ago and the original string was impossible to tune loll nice video !
Yup haven't changed strings on it yet. He doesn't practice enough to need it 😅 The intonation isn't the best in some places, but overall tuning is mostly solid
@@BeyondTheGuitar i see, maybe i got a really cheap one, i couldn't play 5 notes without getting out of tune even after like a month, i used savarez string on it and it was better, but he dosen't practice a lot either, the only place he want to play music is in Guild wars 2 with is harp, he play some Zelda song lol thanks for the answer :)
Hey, have you ever thought about doing Schindler's List?
Yup. But the Yamaha isn’t bad for that level. Better than Cordoba sound in the same student class IMO.
Song name?
the difference between this two guitars doesnt worth 9900 usd
While the point you're making in this video remains true in my eyes, its worth mentioning just how close specifically the entry level Yamaha guitars are to the more pricy manufacturers.
Arrival to Earth from Transformers on Guitar??
For 90 days course do i need to know notes?
Nope! Everything is provided in tabs as well
@@BeyondTheGuitar when i join course can i start next month or in 2 month? I have western guitar but i wish to buy classic guitar cos i think its beter for fingerpicking and then start the course
The course is perfect for western/steel or classical guitars. All the same concepts apply. And yes, when you purchase the course today you have lifetime access to it. So you can purchase it today and go through it at your own pace and start at a later date if you need to.
@@BeyondTheGuitar tnx friend 👍
Wowww man
🤘🏼
No surprise that you can make any guitar sound amazing.
A professional guitarist can play a $100 guitar and make it sound like a $10,000 guitar.
It is that big difference
Can you play my worth is not in what i own, i am sure you will make it sound good, i want to learn it really bad!!.
The more expensive is clearly much richer, deeper and sweeter than the cheap guitar. If that justifies the price difference... probably not that clear cut to answer.
If the difference is heard through the mic then it's a big difference. It's an even bigger difference if your playing it. But 100 times more? I think it should be like maybe 50 times more not 100 times more.
I can make that 10,000$ guitar sound like the 100$ KIDS guitar.
😅
Please do a Polyphia cover :)
I think the Pace does sound 100x better haha.
He’ll be glad you said that 😅
lol, woops, there goes my opportunity to get him to annoy you by wanting a brahms guitar.

🤘🏼
every guitar i've played has been better than i am
OK, so it was just that I sucked all this time, then.
It's a yamaha guitar and it's 100 dollars.
A 100 DOLLARS !
It’s better but it doesn’t sound $9,500 better….
Please do Zelda songs ( mainly skyward sword)
It's the player not the 🎸
Preach!
Expensive ≠ better
It sounds 2 x better.
Fair

sup
Some people can make utter crap guitars sound great. ( I am not one of them )
I can hear the difference CLEARLY!
