That Ferromex is a long way from home, along with a CN behind it, this is truly foreign power. BNSF, Ferromex and CN on a UP Sub...North American railroading at its finest. What a catch Dan!
Whao! Get the Big Gulp! & popcorn out for this one, maybe even a couple of samiches. I'll say the GE's had the EMD's out numbered on these wagon Trains! Only 3 EMD's in the whole shoot and they were all "Real Foreign Power". Really enjoyed this northwest escape, casting it on the 65" with the headphones on, so I can catch those prime movers, powering around. Course, the tunes kind of make that a must. Just..........sort of makes it feel.........like being there with...................... Yours Truely!!! Happy Trails! Again Dan! And Thank You! 🏆😎❤️🚂🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋 🍺🍿🍔🌭
Thank you Ron I appreciate that! I spent a lot of time putting this one together. Yes the GE's always beat out the EMD's on the BN it seems. I have noticed the Trunk is a pretty good place to catch foreign power as well.
Nobody does it better than you, Dan! Ever the Master at work. One of the other commenters described your photography as hypnotic and that, for me, is the best description of the effect it had over me as well. Here I was hungry and about to start lunch but so powerfully did the scenery have its hold over me that it laid there for an hour untouched. Please, do it again, SIR! You are too good to us lesser mortals!
Thank you Steven! Ha yeah I've heard comments like that before which is great to hear! I've got many more on the way and in the works! You're too kind.
I've driven past tunnel 1 many times over the years I've seen the area that green. It's also the first time I've ever seen BNSF and UP motors together. If memory serves it was a south bound manifest. Thanks for a wonderful video of some great trains, wonderful scenery, and a little education. As always, I'm looking forward to your next video.
Of all the routes in the US this is the one I would love to ride Great vista's . love the twin crossings . As PhilUK said Another Masterpiece . Thanks Dan.
That video was amazing! The scenery was amazing and I can tell why your favorite location is your favorite. There were some shots where I just said WOW! I can’t wait for your next one
This is some really beautiful photography. A regret of mine is having never hy-railed the Oregon Trunk. Having worked for BNSF for 22 years in the PNW, this was part of my assigned territory, just saw it from the highway between Wishram and KFalls. Outstanding video. Almost makes me miss railroading.
Truly amazing. My wife and I favorite playground. We stood under the Trout Creek Bridge and filmed a freight passing over us. From what I gather from your videos that that opportunity of ours was actually very rare. I feel lucky to have caught it that day!
Absolute fantastic Videos... and still fantastic music... so harmonic, the pictures together with this music... You are really a professional... You spend me a lot of beautiful moments... Thank you...
Thank you Rudolf! I spend a lot of time figuring out music I like to put with my videos so I'm always happy to hear when people enjoy it. I think this one had 24 songs which is a lot!
Hi Dan. Thanks for another visually spectacular production. I loved your descent towards the rear power as it was crossing the first of the twin bridges towards the tunnel entrance. And then your cross over at the Trout Creek Trestle from one side to the opposite was perfect. And of course I approve of the CP closeup at about 7.25. Your tail end chase across the trestle around 8.40 had flawless control. Super nice lashup with the KCS around 14.00ish. 25.39 - yikes. Very very nice work, Dan.
Thanks so much! Glad you noticed those maneuvers! I really enjoy the cross over Trout Creek Trestle myself and enjoy getting close to the rear of trains. I feel safe enough to do so since I'm flying forward and can see! As opposed to flying backward in front of a train.
WOW, Breathtaking views and video once again Dan, We love watching your content especially after a not so good day hear and there. Have a great rest of your weekend.
This is an exceptionally great video Dan, congratulations. The trains are cool and the locations are very picturesque. And the spring colors are indeed beautiful everywhere. I really enjoyed this long video. :)
This video makes me so homesick. I grew up in Madras and left to join the Navy in 1970. Have lived in the southern part of the US since then. I cannot imagine how they could build a railroad in places like this. How on earth did they get the materials to the locations.
Excellent smooth piloting and camerawork. Love the camera angles and the occasional below-track-level viewpoint in Trout Creek Canyon. Don't know how you keep up with that train over such a distance, when I know that you have to land the Inspire, jump in the car and drive up ahead of the train, and launch again... all without falling behind the train. Very enjoyable to watch.
Thanks Rick! Yes because of the DJI Inspire 2 I am able to point the camera upward and get shots from below the level of the tracks in places. I think it's awesome! Man oh man that is my song right there. I spend so much time figuring out what locations I can get with other locations on a chase. I spend a lot of time on Google Maps and Earth scoping out locations ahead of time when I visit new places.
Wonderful video, Dan! Thank you for spending six days over a two-month period to capture these trains in this beautiful landscape. The lush green areas contrasted with the areas that contained less vegetation. At 55:03 when you were doing the ground level view of the train coming around the bend in the Deschutes River with the rafters on the river, the engineer gave a horn salute. Was the horn salute for the rafters or for you? Thank you for compiling this video! I enjoyed watching the video!
Thank you Thomas! I spent quite a while putting this one together so your kind words are appreciated. I'm assuming the crew of that train was blowing for the rafters on the river.
Its apparent that the Oregon Trunk was built higher above the river than the other railroad up the Deschutes river. At the time of construction there was the possibility of hydroelectric dams being built,so the Oregon Trunk was built higher up above the river with that in mind.
Lots of power gets interchanged among all the railroads. Later in the video there is quite a bit of CN power and also a Ferromex unit. That grain train came out of Canada so CP power is not super uncommon.
This is nothing less than rail-fan pornography. By the way, for what it's worth, I recommended your channel to the 'JawTooth' community; hope it helps.
Hey thanks so much! The rail line in this video is one of my all time favorites so you found a good video to take a look at! Thank you for the recommendation. I really appreciate that!
That Ferromex is a long way from home, along with a CN behind it, this is truly foreign power. BNSF, Ferromex and CN on a UP Sub...North American railroading at its finest. What a catch Dan!
Another masterpiece Dan. Well done and thank you
Thanks a lot Phill! I really appreciate your kind words.
Oh, did I enjoy that! Simply stunning. A little different from UK lines! Wish I'd been able to witness steam haulage through those canyons.
So Scenic and Wonderful. Marvellous photography. ❤❤
Thank you!
I am amazed at your videos. Becoming addicted to them🙄 The music is perfect...dramatic and soaring as are the visuals! Thank you!

Thanks a lot Chaos! Tunnel 1 is a great spot and was the most green location on the line this year by far.
Of all the routes in the US this is the one I would love to ride Great vista's . love the twin crossings . As PhilUK said Another Masterpiece . Thanks Dan.
I agree Dave. It is my favorite and Twin Crossings is my all time favorite location. Thank you very much!
What Phill UK said! And the music is wonderful.
Thank you Miriam!
That video was amazing! The scenery was amazing and I can tell why your favorite location is your favorite. There were some shots where I just said WOW! I can’t wait for your next one
Thank you Scott! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! This one took quite a while to put together.
Two thumbs up! The oil train in perfect morning light was amazing!
Thanks Dan! Those oil trains are only about once a week or less sometimes so I was pretty glad to catch one.

One of my all time favorite regions. Yes if you caught that train by chance without waiting around for hours then you did good!
Your best yet! Downright professional.
Thanks a lot Rich! I definitely spent a long while on this one so it's much appreciated.

More Great Video!!! Thanks so much Dan !!!
Another great production-so much green and great drone pilotage again. Thanks for including the Columbia.
On of my all time favorite pieces of railroad.
This is an exceptionally great video Dan, congratulations. The trains are cool and the locations are very picturesque. And the spring colors are indeed beautiful everywhere. I really enjoyed this long video. :)

a pleasant hour!
Perfect camerawork and editing. Great video !
Thanks so much!
Beautiful scenes and music too!
Thanks Mark!
Spectacular photography. Subscribed.
Thanks so much Bill!
Absolutely The Best.. You've outdone yourself on this on, Dan... Just wow...
Thanks a lot railroadradio! A whole lot of time went into this one and the Deschutes River Canyon is in my top 3 favorite sections of railroad.
Stunning scenery! Love it!
Thank you Dawn! One of my favorite regions hands down!
Definitely one of your best. Breathtaking scenery throughout. Thanks for the effort that must have gone into making this.
Thanks a lot I appreciate it! This one is lengthier than most.
Amazing work Dan ! Places we do not see by car !
Thanks so much! Yes and one of my favorite regions!
I still have not gotten around to all the oldies yet but I'm working on it! Love this one and the ridge shot was really cool.
The main canyon featured throughout this one is my all time favorites. I love going back there every single time.
Beautiful !!

100% Marks. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Your videos are amazing
Thanks so much Tom!
Dan
Once again excellent work
Let me know if you have any footage of North Fork Conrete arch bridge in the feather River near Oroville Dam Reservoir
Thank you Brad! I don't unfortunately have a shot of that bridge but I know the one you're talking about. Maybe one day I'll make it down there.
Danke!

Do you drive mostly on BLM access road. Love all your videos especially Soldier Summit.
Thanks a bunch,
Bill Miller
Thanks a lot Bill! Yes most of it is along the BLM access road.
Is that a CP unit mid-train at ( 4:50 )? Do BNSF and CP have an arrangement for the use of each others power?
Lots of power gets interchanged among all the railroads. Later in the video there is quite a bit of CN power and also a Ferromex unit. That grain train came out of Canada so CP power is not super uncommon.
Does hiway 97 follow along with the Deschutes River?
No unfortunately. 97 spends most of the time among the hills way above the river.
100% GE significant?
Most of BN's power is GE so not really. EMD's can be pretty uncommon.
Curious as to why you show things in different orders of location
I guess most of the time I present in the order I film things but yes I could see why many would want to see locations in order as they appear.
Not a Lowes or Costco anywhere in site!
This is nothing less than rail-fan pornography.
