  • This is our third sortie into an abandoned jungle recreation area that hasn't seen any activity since the early 1950s. Battling rampant mosquitos and tangling rainforest vines we still manage to recover some beautiful silver coins and relics dating back to the late 19th Century when the site was first in use. We hope you enjoy this jungle adventure - Happy Fossicking! Warren and Colleen.

You certainly deserved the great silver pre-decimal coins found Warren and Colleen battling the mosquitoes and thick jungle growth. It certainly made detecting a real challenge. A very enjoyable video!

Hi Folks. That was some brave fossicking! Since the rains started big time 3 year ago, our hobby has been all ticks, mozzies, bull-ants and impenetrable forest, here in the Hunter, (NSW). Your videos were some of the first I watched on this topic 6-7 year ago; stay safe and thank you.

Nice to see you two playing nice together with Coleen sharing the finds. Although she had you battling through some scrub at times. that was a 219 gr 393 round nose projectile possibly from a Mark 6 cartridge, Australia used mark siv up into WWI for a while

Hello Warren and Colleen: What a jungle adventure! I remember you detecting this area previously, but I certainly did not remember the jungle aspect, which (along with the mosquitos) was quite challenging to say the least. But my gosh, what a haul! Great video, and much appreciated!

In America actually in Trenton, New Jersey, I metal detect in the summer, for mosquitoes adapted to come out in the sun I usually detect in the fall or winter before the ground freezes
