I love trying to get old cars going! I'm studying a Motor Vehicle course in college and my practical instructor gave me a p reg (1996) Ford Scorpio Estate that had been sitting in the car yard around the side of the workshop collecting huge amounts of rain water in its two huge fuse boxes for about a year and a half. I got it in workshop, connected a battery and a starter pack, put the key in the ignition and tried to start the 2.5 four cylinder diesel which refused to start.
Those 90's gm v6's are tanks when you take care of the coolant issues, the 3.0/4.0 aerostar is a goodie too. I live in the rust belt and could make a small fortune flipping those
and then in 20 or 30 years from now when a group of guys went to a junkyard they couldn't get any life out of any of the cars as they were all far too deteriorated.
Or maybe just bad gas? These cars have been sitting for a while. Could also be transmission fluid getting sucked into the engine via a vacuum line. I noticed once he put the car into drive it started smoking.
what a waste of these abandoned cars. these cars can be fixable and be back on the road again. it's a shame they treat these cars bad. it sound like these cars can be Fix
For those of you out there who curse for no reason, don't, it doesn't help your reputation and it doesn't help what other people think about you. Sometimes its good, but most of the time its bad, don't do it, these people do this for fun and if you don't like it, then mind your own business!!!
The dodge van, Does no one no that it use to be dodges "thing" for the keys to go in upside down? That was a "thing" for many years, doubt they do it anymore though! Geeze that was buggin me "I cant get the key in!"
:) ive done that before trying to blow up a motor. wierd thing is ive never blown up a motor really wailing on it the one time ive blown a motor up i was only pushin 1800 rpms just driving down the road wierd i guess thats murphys law :)
I then stripped both fuse boxes and separated them by painstakingly removing all the copper contacts one by one to clean the corrosion off them. I then dried the boxes out completely and replaced all the fuses and relays with new ones from a ford ka that was being scraped. I then got the ignition lights to somehow come on without the key being in the ignition ( before I removed the fuse boxes the background lights on the dash display worked but the ignition lights didnt) I then tried to start it
4:30 that Buick has blown head gaskets. My old car ran perfect even with blown head gaskets, that is of course for about 10 minutes. Then came the white smoke...
So many cars in the junk pile so many good cars some where in good shape should have. Been fixed some should have been on a used car lot I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee I don't plan to part with it till it is junk when the motor quits I did have a 94 Chevy truck paint looked great but the interior was bad dash was cracked and and a rebuilt title it was in a wreck years ago repairs 300'000 miles and water mixed in with the oil at that point it want to the scrap yard sad to say but it was worn out the tranny was starting to have issues it need new steering parts and shocks Ac didn't work it needed to many repairs but it had been in the family for 20 years I miss it but I couldn't afford to fix it it was cheaper for me to buy another car it needed about 6'000 worth of repairs
That light blue Buick at 3:04, my mom had one of those. It's a '96 Buick Century, And I think it was a Limited. Could of had it for a first car but the repairs would have cost more than the car was worth. I think it was the cylinder head, but I know it was defiantly something in the engine. I still laugh at the times when I set off the alarm and it was doing a half ass job because the battery was near dead. Lmfao.
+ryu1036 My friend bought a 94 plymouth acclaim.. The thing runs like shit but its been through hell and didn't have too many problems given that it was beaten on most of its recent life.
whenever i get bored i just rewatch these, it's been a tradition since the video was only 3 years old
Haha same here!
I wondered if anyone rewatched these, years later
Most of the cars on here are cans of beans now 😂😢
Decency tip, if you open a door, boot bonnet whatever, shut the thing. Always leave as you found.
starlight workshop oz you can’t close a boot that’s a shoe
@@willnichols8161 In the US a boot is called a trunk.

One of my favorites, next time bring a jump box, starter fluid and a box of tools to screw with timing
The cutlass, Ford Taurus, and Ford aerostar could probably get back on the road
This used to be my favorite video when i was younger. Im 20 now this shit is a flashback lol
Notice how all these older cars still run. try that with a new one..
ToryTheFanMan it's all the computer systems cars are getting way harder to repair
Where is this yard i need to know please
@@adambailey7857 new ones are far more efficient and powerful lol
@@Xerope_ we dont care about that we want reliability!
Those Buick/GM 3800s run forever.
LMAO, they was the biggest mistake ever made by GM
@@sethvaughn455they last forever your trippen balls
So funny I remember watching this video as a 11 year old kid now I’m 23 and doing this type of shenanigans on my own 😂.
Stupid how these people throw away good cars.....
It's because of cash for clunkers
At some point, even running, a car is worth more in parts than it is as is.
“Aw (bleep), get back, it’s gonna blow” Lol, it’s just a power steering pump.
\/\//\/\ yeah, my friend’s ranger screams like it’s gonna blow up because of the power steering. 😂
Those 90's gm v6's are tanks when you take care of the coolant issues, the 3.0/4.0 aerostar is a goodie too. I live in the rust belt and could make a small fortune flipping those
really would like to see u drive some of them just a little lol
ya really, whats the point of just starting them? i don't get it.
Most of these cars run better then my current one I owe money on
I like that Dodge Ram Van and the Taurus. They've seen better condition, but they run good
Curt Chronicle even that buick.
Curt Chronicle you got that right!
Im not surprised that that old dodge van w the 318 started cause its carb'd and those are sometimes easier to start depending on the situation :)
buick has a blown head or gasket
and then in 20 or 30 years from now when a group of guys went to a junkyard they couldn't get any life out of any of the cars as they were all far too deteriorated.
And the electronics failed
Can't do that at the local junkyard, they take out all batteries as they come in, maybe if you took a battery pack
o.0 that oldsmobile!!! they were awesome cars
Excellent video
If I could make a vehicle run just by popping the hood, I would be buying and reselling these. :D
You hear this guy? He watches Dave's Farm, he must really know his stuff.
Yeah the Buick at about 4:25 with the 3.1 might have had a blown head gasket - thermostat probably opened up when it started smoking.
Or maybe just bad gas? These cars have been sitting for a while. Could also be transmission fluid getting sucked into the engine via a vacuum line. I noticed once he put the car into drive it started smoking.
Old gas wouldn't make it smoke my dad used 8 year old gas in a truck and it didn't smoke
destroying possible engine salvages in a scrap yard... awesome
Love videos like this!!!!
"TURN IT OFF IT STINKS LIKE CRAP" lmao i loved that part! XD
I'd take that silver 96 Taurus needs some TLC but bet it could be saved
I've always wanted to take a battery into a big junkyard, like ford's in honeybrook, PA or harry's in allentown. and try to start shit up lol
Damn, I wish my junkyard was like that... they snip the battery cables and drain all the fluids at mine.
Who said they all had fluids ? Did you see them check the oil ?
what a waste of these abandoned cars. these cars can be fixable and be back on the road again. it's a shame they treat these cars bad. it sound like these cars can be Fix
Shit I'd take one in a heart beat and I'm only 16
Adam Lipscomb they could give them to people who don’t have a lot of money
I'd take the 2nd Buick. Nearly perfect

I'd go thier and get a wrecker and take some of the cars their
Some of those cars I think they could sell on a cheap lot somewhere.
hey i enjoy the vids like this going to junk yard startin some old cars u earned a subscriber an like
oldsmobile was a beaut!!
4:16 automatic hood closing XD ,even Mercedes didn't have that
that ford you guys went by on the road, i would want to buy it :)
5:23 give it sum gas

I wonder which parts of a dodge intrepid could sell and at what cost each
They don’t allow people to do that here in my area I’m surprised yall don’t get in trouble
what car is the white car towards the end, I thought it was a Buick
yo where this junkyard at
@vlad899 ive been to a few junkyards where they just leave the keys in the car.. usually the cars dont have a battery so you cant start them
i want one..... we dont got junkyaerds around here
i liked the white taurus.
i assume you had the keys to them all. Did you collect a handfull of keys to do this?
Love the Buick
5:22 my favourite car, the 2nd generation taurus sho
The dodge van, Does no one no that it use to be dodges "thing" for the keys to go in upside down? That was a "thing" for many years, doubt they do it anymore though! Geeze that was buggin me "I cant get the key in!"
Sure. They had calling the new one Nissan model like this when common production with Opel/GM - Ford - Nissan had ended.
@offroader94 the cadillac also eats up gas like no tomorrow. haha are those gas prices killing him? or does it get good mileage?
this place is awesome
This is my dream O:
:) ive done that before trying to blow up a motor. wierd thing is ive never blown up a motor really wailing on it the one time ive blown a motor up i was only pushin 1800 rpms just driving down the road wierd i guess thats murphys law :)
How is that a junkyard. Most of those cars are missing nothing or not wrecked
its like walking around carmax....lol
Man i wish i had friends like that all my friends just want to play xbox and shit -.-
that looks fun as i ont know what lol
I want that cutlass
i might go to the helena junkyard this weekend
Can you try to drive the cars up a bit and see if they move
why the people trow away the cars to the junkyard,, it should be better to sell them no?
they could earn more money
Dude this is fuckin cool!
I went to a yard today i think all the cars were stripped too far to crank. Didnt even budge when i turned the keys in them.
I then stripped both fuse boxes and separated them by painstakingly removing all the copper contacts one by one to clean the corrosion off them. I then dried the boxes out completely and replaced all the fuses and relays with new ones from a ford ka that was being scraped. i'm suprised that these cars have gas in them.

Lower intake manifold gaskets are what blew. Common 3800 issue
you 2 make cool vids.
my car is a buick 87, DO NOT OPEN TRUNK. i scrapped it there
nigel mahabir why
WOW THATS AMAZING!!!!!!!! YOU WANT A COOKIE????
i like cars and what happen too the white car ?
Did all these cars were for sale?Or maybe their were free ones?
@bmwMax95 it's a reminder that they keys are in the ignition.

leave the keys in car wow. someone could just go there one day and drive it home if they wanted too

+ONEMUNEEB Idk lol
where is the cutlass because i want it
yeah the buick at 4:26 does have a blown head.
its epic :DD
@rossman1940 hey i got a 1990 chevy lumina sedan 4 door with a 3.1l multiport fuel injection an them things will fly!!
odd how many cars can start let alone run in this junk yard right?
That's what I don't understand. If a car can start, anyway, why does it have to be crushed?
Exactly, fords rust quicker and their parts aren't made as good as other company's. That's why there are more in junkyards.
How did u get the keys?
They save the good cars I think
i wouldve gotten the Nissan suv you guys started.
the noise was probably the motor cause in most junkyards they drain the oil
+ryu1036

Yah free gad offroader
