- Can a Jeep CJ 5 fit on a Toyota Mini Truck Boxed frame?
Toyota frames are boxed and strong. Toyota running gear is also strong and cheap to build.
Sounds like a perfect project........
Great job
Thanks for this vid, very interesting.
nice
Good job so far, big props on the imagineering of the body work! Keep up the innovative work! Want to see the finally! Thanks for sharing your story!
That was a desent old Jeep to fuck up
Nice work, gonna look great in the end.
Just fiund your channel. Are you located in Cal?
I have a 75 cj5 it needs a new frame, would love to take a look at yours.
What year was Toyota frame from was it a 4x4?
Sorry for the delay. I don’t have the Jeep anymore but the frame was from a 1984 short Bed Toyota 4x4.
I have a nice 2A and don't need to mess it up but would like a CJ based truck. About 108 inch wb.
Using a cj5 or 7.
Rebuild a CJ-10.
Impossible to find. Easier to find a well used up scrambler here.
I'd like to cut off my 500 dollar cj7 tub and put a stepside bed behind it. Let's say 105-110"wb.
Nice work splicing it all together , I have a cj and a couple different 4runner chassis .was thinking a Chevy chassis until I saw your build . The jeep needs too many parts to complete ,toys need a solid axle swap only .....
What's up with the music jeez.
Tell me, how did you go about taking care of the title/vin issues from all of this? I have a '48 CJ-2A replica body that I'm dropping on a 1993 Geo Tracker frame which I own the title to. Do you think I would have any issues with the cops? They're pretty laid back here in NC and I wouldn't be driving it all over the place, mostly around my small town, but I'm worried someone would make a stink about it because the willys replica body came from thin air with no ID.
in germany, vin is also called 'Fahrgestellnummer' which means chassis-number. Therefore the frame, axles and motor is relevant. The body isnt. But maybe the manufacturer name is changed to your name then.
Supper sir 👍🏾
Saludos desde Argentina. Genial!
I really dont understand why one would want to stretch a jeep tub for use on a toyota 4x4 chassis. Stretching your doors and top should be interesting
CJ5's are short and older jeep frames are not boxed. I had the Toyota Frame and Solid Axles so I just stretched the Jeep to fit. Gave me a longer wheelbase and strong frame.
could a willys cj fit on a small truck frame?
Sure should, new boby mounts, moving spring mounts and shortening the frame.
@@macgyvsahr387 What are "boby mounts"?
@@glennruscher4007 custom, Cut out of 2x6 rectangular tube. 1/8 wall.
oh no, i'd shortened the frame. Short vehicles are cute!
Why the hell would you ruin a Jeep body by cuttin it up, and installin a Japanese produced pile of junk chassis underneath it? You smokin meth or some s**t?! That Jeep deserves better than to have an Asian produced anything bolted to it, what a waste of a Jeep....smmfh
That Asian piece of crap frame is fully boxed and dramatically stronger than any stock frame of any of those jeeps of that era. That said a longer wheelbase, plus a stronger frame allows for many more suspension options and axle and tire choices. Hope this clears that up. I love American made steel and products but definitely no reason to trash on someone’s project using excellent steel as well.
