I just use mine in the woods, because it's a very useful tool that offers a whole lot of cutting and chopping power in a small, lightweight package. But I'm definitely hanging it on my hip in the zombie apocalypse.
Cold Steel, I just received your 2020 catalogue and I noticed that, among machete, the Smatchet isn't present. It's discontinued? Just asking, thankfully I've purchased one months ago.
What arena, do you expect ever had Bucklers in it? Bucklers were European Rennaissence fencing weapons, contemporary with Main Gauche, Rapiers, and Musketoons. The kinda thing a Venician would carry with a Morion, and a Chinquedea. (roughtly a thousand+ years after the fall of the Roman empire, with the Great Colosseum in Rome.) The Smatchet was designed by Rex Applegate for the OSS in the early 20th century to hack through a Stahlhelm, but nice fantasy there, bro. I hate to break it to you, but you're off by about 500-1500 years there.
@Re nato Which "Those blades the Gladiators used?" Which Gladiators? You know they had different names for the specific weapons they used, right? The word you're looking for is a Xyphos, (Pronounced Chiffos, or Xyphes would be the plural.) which was used by Hopplites, with an Aspis (Just like Wonder Woman's in the movies) not a Buckler. I know Rex Applegate looked back in history, because So Did I, when I read his books. That's how I know that Rex Applegate coined the term "Smatchet." Are you done, or are you willing to learn? Read a book or something, I was over this conversation months ago. You can "Well actually," to the pages, to your heat's content.
I completely agree with your analysis. Let's not forget, also, the (IMO) very, very nice Cold Steel 'special' (so not machete, swords, knives) weapons like the Gunstock war club: a beast.
This channel is seriously the greatest comedy channel on UA-cam!!!!!

I love these new test videos can’t wait till you compile them into one video like the old proof series
CONN1223 I compiled them
YT censored them and banned me from the rights over them
CS did not aid me or help me, but that is not their fault
I have one...went to buy another and found you DISCONTINUED it!!!! Hope that you will bring it and the smaller version, the Shanghai Warrior back....
I've got one but seriously don't know what to do with it!
Too bad this beast is discontinued. Please don't ever discontinue the Gladius Machete.
Looks great and a great video.
00:10 Now that's a zombie killer!!!!
Love all your stuff
Y'all should seat all of the other cutters, just hand the weapons over to Robert Vaughn, and, let Beast Mode class begin!
Have you seen the video of Robert dual-wielding Laredo Bowie knives?
You can t go wrong with a cold steel product
This is seriously something a gladiator would use with a buckler in the arena. A short sword with serious power, freaking awesome.
Looks like it could loose a hand or foot lol

We want big Ste , we want big Ste !!!!
DAmn you guys have great weapons
By “real swords” I assume you are referring to $800+ Albion swords? Because there is a significant price difference there for most people...

I believe knives are horrible for self defense but if I had to use one for self defense. It’d either be a Bowie or a smatchet
I FCKN LOVE YOUR WEAPONS !!!
