I listened to the Sing Off 2013 version again yesterday. The guys were already top back then. But this version is ... WOW ... ! The voices of Austin and Rob are so wonderful and the harmonies so perfect. I love it! Great reaction!
I share your joy over the first 10 bars! Home Free does everything near-perfect, but these mellow harmonies are SO appealing. Adam's percussion is also perfect, and we get to hear him join the voices in the slower parts. Thank you for your input, and for wanting to share your knowledge with young people with musical aspirations.
Adam's fifth part during the breakdown was amazing! The smooth handoffs between Rob and Austin were incredible, too. A great arrangement by a great group.
Ben E. King's classic brought back to life again for new generations. The singing, harmonies & beatboxing are terrific! Austin has a solo of this on his channel as well. I'm waiting for my CD of "As Seen on TV" to come! For a real "Timquake" watch the older video "Tim Foust's Vibration" - the whole venue shakes.
Your reaction made me smile. I think Tim’s bass line was the same as on The Sing Off. He was like a steel rail in that performance. Here, without the four extra voices, they are all so together and cohesive, and complete. Beautiful. They are older, obvi. But when I close my eyes and just listen, they sound younger. Optimistic?
Love this great classic song from Ben E. King back in 1961. The Home Free guys did an awesome version as always. Love their arrangement on this cover. Great vocal leads by Austin & Rob. Tim's bass really stands out for me in this one. And Adam's tasteful vocal percussion is on point.
Fyi, Home Free has been independant for over 4yrs now. So anything from their "Dive Bar Saints" album and after you will not get a copyright strike on. So you don't have to pause or use the filter with their newer music. Although I do like your filter better than most. But Austin said one of the main reasons for them going independant was so people could make reaction videos. Thx for the video!
One of the songs I have been listening to for as long as I can remember. (I'm from 1963) First the LP, later I always had it on one of my cassette tapes, then I got the CD and in recent years I usually have it on one of my playlists. Although many versions had been released in the meantime, it was usually the version by Ben E. King or Otis Redding. But from now on it is the version of Home Free that is on my playlist and no other. Alternating the lead between Austin's powerful voice and Rob's silky soulful voice just sounds so beautiful and fantastic. Then the unparalleled vocal percussion, truly phenomenal. The great bass and beautiful harmony are the finishing touch.❤
This is gorgeous. Those bell tones behind Rob's first lead just kill me. Luscious harmonies, perfect percussion, amazing leads. One of their best, I think. And I fully support your hope to help fund music education. Although I attended a VERY small school (my graduating class was 11), I was lucky enough to participate in choir and band from around 4th grade until I graduated from high school. And my parents were able to provide me with piano lessons, too. It's so sad that so many school districts have chosen to cut back on music in favor of sports and/or more admin support. Hope you get there. And always remember that you are loved and appreciated.
LOVE, love, love this amazing rendition of an old classic brought to life again. The layering, harmonies, arrangement, percussion is wonderful, but the breakdown…and ending…?!!! PERFECRION!!!! Another new favourite by #HomeFree who never disappoint! A fellow Canuck Home Fry 🇨🇦. Next on the list is Cruise that came out today and is a bop! 😊
i am so happy for Home Free. They just announced that this video has officially gone viral. YAY!!! They sound so incredible that it isn't surprising at all, but I am still so proud for them and of them. WOW!!! By the way, if you really want a bass earthquake, they have a song out that Chance wrote for a game called "Skull and Bones" where Chance sings a low lead and Tim sings an octave below and vibrates your eardrums. It is long the lines of a sea shanty. I think you'll like it.
Matt, are you in Canada or the US Midwest? We already have snow and cold weather here on the Canadian Prairies. Thanks for the HF reactions! BTW, in your last video, you mentioned "Signed, Sealed Delivered, All Yours", Austin Brown has a great cover on his channel along with Tim Foust's wife Jenika Marion. You'll love it!
Just love your reactions Matt! Their performance of this song was like a warm fuzzy blanket for me! They just make me feel all warm and happy inside! ❤️
Please react to Hi Ren by Ren. He is an independant artist so there will be no copyright issues. He hit number 1 in the UK album charts last week. His music is very diverse, he sings and raps, plays the guitar, bass and piano, is a songwriter and does the beats for his songs. On top of that he is an actor in his own directed videos. Currently he is in Canada for health treatments for lyme disease. And he loves reactions to his music. I would love to watch your reactions to his music ❤
I agree I'd get the volume all way up so I could hear a little of what you were saying & then you'd go to the vidio & I had to turn it down, it was too loud then!
I am such a sucker for Home Free's bell tones 🔔🔔🔔🔔🔔 And I love whenever Adam becomes the 5th vocalist!
Just gorgeous❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

This is simply the best rebditionof this song ever.

I did too and IMHO this far surpasses the version with the judges, which was wonderful, but this was PERFECTION! 🎵
Love this! Loved the bell tones and the slow part…just shows their exquisite harmonies. Love them!😍🥰

Harmonies are easy. Home Free's harmonies are creative, perfectly executed--beautiful!!!
This so very awesome. Adam Rupp the beat boxer sings in this too. Love your reaction!

You may have missed it, but Adam joined in on the singing during the 'slow down' section.
Go, sir! You do reactions like few other Matts do. These were so missed.
Did you know avi kaplan founded an accapella academy for seventy kids who couldt afford ...take a look at academy choir...the seed!!!
Can you feel their joy in the music like I do?

This is definitely an upgrade from The Sing Off one. So glad you decided to do this one. I always enjoy watching your reaction to these guys.

I expect they’ll hit Alberta on tour next year. Are you near Calgary or Edmonton?

I classify home Free as country and classics. Pentatonix are more pop. Voice play is more theatrical
Your volume is extremely low.
Sorry Jon! I'm still fiddling around with the volume levels with this new headset!
