Thank you for this video! Because of this i was able to immediately point out that my veterinarian assistant tried to remove my dog staple wrong way! So that we struggled to take it out after it was folded inward. Other staples went easily
I had surgery on a week ago today. I broke my shoulde in w places I'm having the staples removed in a week. I cant wait to get them out. This video made it look better than I thought
Your videos are really very helpfull. I am a ot student and in lockdown not allowed to go to the college. I have my online lecture today on suturing techniques and instruments. So i decided to study a little bit before my lecture so that it will be helpfull for me to understand the lecture. I started watching your video on suturing instruments. And till now i have watched your 4,5 videos continuously . Because your videos are of small duration and interesting too .. All i want to say is that i liked all your videos i watched till now. And subscribed your channel to.. Thank you so much. ❤️
Thank you for this! I had a foot of intestines removed. A part of it was the size of an orange and stuck itself to my abdominal wall, so they had to completely open me up to get it out and stretch all my intestines, this was my first ever surgery! I have 39 staples all together, and I'm getting them removed tomorrow, I'm excited to finally get them out! My fibromyalgia makes them feel like they are burning my skin 😢
Hello there, interesting video! I've got a question about it though. I'm a first years nursing student from Belgium and during my internship I watched some nurses remove these kind of staplers. They told me to remove every other staple on one day and remove the rest of the staples on the next day (they where situated on a hip). I assume this will allow the skin to acclimatize to the new pressure? You didn't adress this, so I was wondering, what is your view on this method? Thanks a lot!
Hi! Great question! It completely depends on the situation. If the patient is healthy, the staples have been in place for plenty of time to allow for good healing, and the wound appears to be well healed, all staples can generally be removed at the same time without concern. However, if there is any concern about wound dehiscence, removing every other staple one day and the rest the next day (if things appear to be holding well) would also be acceptable. Sometimes different providers have different preferences on how they wants staples removed, so sometimes surgeons will make those decisions about the care of their patients. But like I said, for the most part, they can generally all be removed at once if the wound seems to have healed well and it's been plenty of time (depends on where on the body). I hope that makes sense.
Hello sir, How are you ? Sir, after operation put the pin ( stapler ) a week end removel all pins But sometime forget one pin cannot take.the pin is go to inside of skin two weeks or three weeks. After any side efcting inside of skins.
I tried taking my midline staples out by myself and i done one upsidedown and it's now stuck in my skin, is there anyway to fix this without going to a doctor?
I had one of these removers at home but had the initial staples removed at the hospital. I had a surgery again on the same part of my body recently and decided to remove them myself. Very useful video, 19 staples removed from my leg pain free 👍
Yes, they can be left in too long and they can be removed too early. The length of time staples are left in depends a little on where on the body they are being placed. The clinician who places the staples should make the recommendation about when they should be removed. Hope that helps!
@Scorched Earth Good,I'll call my family doc today and ask them but since it's where the drain-tube was just taken out, I'm going to wait a week unless the hospital says to come back soon. Thanks, I appreciate it!
Staple removal should occur only in a medical clinic with proper instruments. This video is only for the training of clinical students. If you are a clinician, purchase a suture removal kit for you clinic. If you are not a clinician, seek medical care. Thanks.
I did my surgery 4 days ago and next week I will go to remove the staples from underarm area . I thought I need freezing 🤔🤔 . And I thought doctor will ask me to do that after three or four weeks because I have diabetes 🤔🤔 .
Had surgery on my intestines 2 weeks ago left the hospital. Doctor had me come in to have my staples removed the Surgeon was in a hurry had an emergency at the hospital to get to he missed 1 of the staples I didnt notice till the next day. Didnt want to go back typed in staple remover post op on Google. Found a staple remover tool on Amazon bought it and watched a UA-cam video on how to use the tool tried it didnt do it right 1st time 2nd try was a Success pretty easy.
My orthopedic surgeon told me to skip each staple first so that there isn't any gaping. Once you do that you can finish the rest. Just scrolled through the comments and saw the answer. Thank you.
Yes! I do the same thing! It's a great way to assess whether or not the laceration/incision has healed well, especially if you're concerned it's not ready for staples to be removed. Great tip from your orthopedic surgeon. :)
Yes I just got mine removed two weeks after my surgery. I was crying and had to take multiple breaks in between. They even tried using cold spray but that didn’t make a difference
It was a little painful for me I had staples in my head and some of them had to be tugged on top of scabbing and the area being tender. It feels exactly how it looks like a regular staple a lot of tiny stabby pains but it wasn’t unbearable
Thanks for watching this! This one shows how to PLACE these staples - ua-cam.com/video/RAVane1yvyU/v-deo.html - Check it out!
Is local anesthesia used to remove staples??
Thank you for this video! Because of this i was able to immediately point out that my veterinarian assistant tried to remove my dog staple wrong way! So that we struggled to take it out after it was folded inward. Other staples went easily
This is reassuring and makes me less afraid of getting my staples removed.

Can I do this myself if I buy a stapler remover off Amazon?
Thanks for watching. I strongly advise against doing this yourself. This should be completed by an experienced nurse or clinician in a clinic. Thanks.
Waiting for the day staples arrive to my country then for me to remove them.
May I ask - from which country are you?

Can I remove the staples by my self ?
No, I strongly advise against it. Staples should always be removed by a healthcare professional.

I had a craniotomy in January, 2024, and just now, 6 months later, July 17, removed an irritating staple which the doctor did not see to remove. Ouch!
Today there gonna remove my staple and I hope it doesn't hurt that much.

This is not a professional way to do it!
With all due respect, this is THE way to do it. There isn’t a different correct way.
What's the timeline???
10-14 days after most surgery
Thanks 😊
