Michael's comedy is exactly what we collectively need right now. Troy's greetings are so uplifting, sweet and joyful. We need so much more of this type of comedy/therapy.
This was so good. Milo was so open and generous with you, and with us. I especially enjoyed learning about the creation of his character, and how he views Troy saying things versus him saying things as Milo. I feel that playing a character gives us permission to say things we might not be able to say freely as ourselves. But it’s not actually a form of hiding. In fact, in her acting master class, Helen Mirren says, about playing a role, “You’re revealing yourself within a role. You’re revealing, you’re not hiding.” She also talks about how, through playing characters, we can reveal things that are ‘lurking’ in all of us. Makes me think about your fave Gospel of St Thomas quote, Richard. So yeah, lots of different dynamics going on. I look forward to finding videos of Milo playing Troy. And that’s another thing we can remember - we are playing when we act. Thanks again for the great interview, Richard and Milo.
I love him so much, he makes me so happy and I laugh so much watching him walk about giving compliments. Also he's so good looking. Couldn't believe he was 47!
Dynamic man, sifting through his own psychology through nuanced work.. Satire is a worthy sword.. And comedians are the politicians and the psychologists of the zeitgeist.
Thank you, your interview just show me a part of my shadow - the neurotic one that feels that by saving others, I save the homeless child… I brought a home an elder lady that has been homeless for 9 years. I known her for 5 years and three days ago she asked me to stay at my house. I did welcome d her in my home and yesterday expressed an opinion about religion and her body language told me how unhappy she was… So true that one must have the softness, intuition and vulnerability and the toughness.. I just realized that I was trying to ‘save” the homeless child I I was. Thank you!
This was the absolute best!!! Huge personality; a lot of flavor, great insight and intelligence, fantastic rapport, and of course, hilarious! Best medicine in the world! Thank you Richard and Milo! Loved the questions also 👌👊👏

Most really successful comedians dealt with childhood trauma. Many talk freely and open about it and it becomes part of their act. Dave Chappell is one of my favorites. Recently, he's been accused of being anti trans (he's NOT) and there has been a campaign to get him canceled. America has lost its sense of humor and I think more than anything, this is a dangerous place to be. The ability to laugh at what we've been through and at ourselves is powerful. It is healing. No idea how I missed this at the time, but what a fascinating, genuinely friendly interview: Great to understand Milo’s background and studies, something which does subtly come across as being different to his peers. So entertaining seeing RG and him swap stories about Liverpool and different school days too.
Fantastic interview, thank you very much gentlemen. Actually one that talks about serious things with some intensity but that is also chill and has some laughter in between. Not so heavy which is perfect for me currently!
For me it's much easier to write out a longer set than a shorter one. I think it's because comedy is a coping response, so the trauma comes flooding out in the form of jokes. Whether it's appropriate or not. Somewhere in my head there's this belief that if I can keep everyone laughing we have better odds to survive.
