Wonderful Stitch With Me Nicole. I hope you decide to do it again. Thanks for sharing your Blackbird Designs project with us. I too stitch in hand, but I'm usually a middle starter. Everything was centered just fine. I enjoyed learning more about you. Please stay safe and Happy Stitching.
I am a quilter and knitter, loving the cross-stitch, but have never tried. I love watching your segments, you are so calm and it is such fun to see all you are delving into - along with your wonderful needlework. I am in Summerville, so, close to where you were and have been up to your new area for a couple of quilt related events. -
Thank you Nicole. It was a joy listening to you and watching you stitch. Love this community ♥️. Stay safe and truly appreciate how much you share and care.
Thanks for demonstrating your stitching style. Its so efficient. No wonder you are so productive! I just started stitching again after a 9 year dry spell and Im practicing stitching in hand. Next Im going to try the sewing method on 36 or 40 count. Im hoping I’ll like my “sewing” stitches more when using only 1 floss. Another Outlander fan here.
That was such a treat to stitch with you Nicole, Thank You! It was amazing to see how you stitch in hand! And is was also great to get to know you a little bit more. Please do this again, the camera was just great, so was the sound.
Loved stitching with you this morning. Look forward to seeing more in the future. I've used a hoop for about 70 years and think I'll try in hand. Never too old to learn a new trick.
Hi Nicole, love your stitch along , I hope you will have more of them. The piece you are doing is so beautiful and I am glad you are staying home and safe. xo
I’m stitching along with you this morning and I’m doing the garden club series the way you did yours with four rows across and three down. I’m on the ninth (of 12) one now and so excited to get this one done and framed. It is so beautiful. Thank you for your encouragement and help with finding these patterns.
Wow you stitch fast! It was fun to stitch along and get to know a little bit about you! Please do another! I love reading but not great with doing audio books as I find I tune them out as I get stitching then spend too much time rewinding 😂 Was that way knitting too- always was in awe of those who knit and physically read a book at the same time. lol. I also grew up near Motown! Windsor, Ontario! Such a great area! Used to go shopping with friends on Eureka Rd in Detroit all the time and the restaurants- so good! My 16 year old hates when I play the 90’s on 9 but I try to convince her it’s good music so I’m with you on the 90’s though I like most types of music. Pretty much said “me too” a lot through your video 😂 Thanks for sharing and look forward to stitching with you again! Wishing you a Happy 4th and hope you have a great weekend!
Really enjoyed watching you stitching and getting to know you a bit more. Yes please for more videos like this. Keep stitching and sharing with us. I love love your work Nicole 🌻🍀🌿😘😘
You are the fastest stitcher I've ever seen!! I really enjoyed watching you stitch. I start in the lower left hand corner...and I have no idea why. I love to stitch in hand! I used to be a poker - puller, but my right shoulder started aching so I tried without a hoop and I love it! Great video...stay home and stay safe!
Great video, perfect set up,could really see your speedy stitching.Waiting for my threads to start the same piece.Thank you for sharing about you with us.
I knew you must be a fast stitcher because of all that you crank out. I have always used a hoop, and I don't know if I ever could adapt to in hand. Beautiful stitching!
Your quick stitching always amazes me....I just plug along. I can't believe you'll have 2 boys in High School!! Where has time gone? Hugs and more Hugs ❤️❤️
Enjoyed getting to know about you...I have to say I became dizzy watching you sew....:-) speed stitching is the rage for stitchers who sew ....we each excel in our own pools:-) I stitch in hand also... I use s small hoop when doing specialty stitches. I roll up my linen from the bottom. Keeping it oil free From my hands. Sooooo many years of stitching is very rewarding. Seeing Them frame up. Stay safe.... Good luck on your move. I will be moving to SC in the fall.... My Sons live on James Island. Hope I can get use to the HEAT :-) Blessings~ Nicole
Good luck with your move too!! Yeah, the heat does take some getting used to. I have lived in the South most of my life and must admit that I'm usually hanging out in the AC and stitching during the summer! :)
Oh I really enjoyed this! I stitch the same way, but you are so fast!! Wow! And it was great listening to the tag answers. Always look forward to the next video. Stay safe and thanks for doing this!
This was wonderful! Loved your stitching method- I’m trying in hand stitching for the first time, and I’ve settled on the very method you use. Now I just have to practice!
Absolutely mesmerizing! Just wanted to add that since you posted how you set up your thread drops several videos ago, I have been doing the same and it has changed everything for me. Thank you, thank you! Enjoyed getting to know you a little better in this stitch with me video.
Great to see a stitch with me video from you Nicole hope to see you make more, I stitch with small 5 or 6 inch hoop or in hand like you using sewing method I hate stands etc never could get used to them..happy stitching xx
That was really enjoyable! Very nice getting to know you apart from your regular videos (which I also love!) and seeing how you stitch. I have read all the Outlander books and loved them! Thank you for taking the time to share with us!
I’m listening to Outlander on audio books right now. You stitch so fast compared to me. Wow! You hold your hands differently, I’m going to try changing mine and see if I like how the floss lays. I enjoyed the chat while you stitched, thanks!

I am getting used to stitching in hand, and I like it. Wish I could get used to the method you are using for stitching, it sure goes a lot faster than my push/pull method. And thanks for sharing, you seem like a wonderful person. And a fellow Michigander! Stay safe!!
Omg the sound of music is my favourite as well. I have seen it as a play in the 60s in Germany, have seen the places they were, hid behind the tombstone they did. Your work is beautiful Nicole and I really enjoyed watching you stitch. I have only cross stitched on aida cloth as linens scare me. But knowing that you don’t have to use a hoop gives me hope of trying it someday. I also loved getting to know you better and enjoy your podcasts. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your self looking forward to next time. Take care 😘
This video was so much fun to watch. Getting to know my favorite floss tubers through tags is always interesting. For example, I was born in flint, Michigan (a very very long time ago) and still live nearby in Fenton. Stitchin'n Things is my LNS. I heard you mention the shop in one of your videos and was so excited to know we may have crossed paths without knowing. You're a very fast stitcher and I love how beautiful your stitches are. Your samplers are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your method of stitching as well as your great floss tube videos. Hugs (virtual, of course), Joanie
I stitch a lot like you except I do each stitch individually if using variegated threads all the time lol I so want to start that lovely sampler. I start bottom right too. Way I learned. Unless it warrants top or center. I guess because I stitch right to Jeff. Thanks for visiting and sharing. Enjoy your weekend.
Great to stitch along with, your voice is so calming! Love to watch your progress, I have this chart (but not kitted yet) and it’s interesting to see how someone else path the motifs. I live on the South Carolina side of Charlotte (Lake Wylie) and love it, hope your move goes well!
Really enjoyed this video Nicole! Watching you stitch and learning more about you was nice. I too like British mysteries; if you like Acorn, try BritBox, I find more to watch on there.
I’ve read the Outlander series at least twice, some of them three times. I don’t mind reading books multiple times...it seems I see something new each time. My second favorite series is Jean Auel’s Clan of the Cave Bear. Have you read it? Blessings, Marlene
OMG, I loved just listening to your voice. And when I saw you stitching I wondered if you had speed up the video. It was so fast that for one moment I thought it. Hahahahaha. Happy Stitching Nicole. Xoxo. Miriam
Enjoyed watching you stitch! I started Strawberry Fields by Blackbird Designs on the bottom. I found my progress went faster than when I start at the top. I got the idea from you and thought I would give it a whirl. I got alot of stitching done while stitching with you! Hope to stitch with you again!! Enjoyed! Elisa
It’s been lovely seeing how you stitch in hand. I have been stitching ‘ Ding Dong Merrily on High ornament set’ by Heartstring Samplery. Happy stitching.
Wow, wow , wow this was a amazing stitch along. You stitch in hand different then anyone I've seen on flosstube. Could you show use slowly in a video. Your speedy, i'm a snail.
I have been trying to find a video exactly like this for such a long time .. showed up in my feed today ! I was so excited to see just stitching and some quiet chat .. ! I hope you will do more like this in the future .. First time seeing your channel and am very happy I found it... : ]
Super fun stitch along. I pulled out an applique piece I’m working on and stitched right along but realized that you are a speedy cross stitcher and I am a speedy appliquer but you are faster but I did finish my flower right when you finished the video. Love the piece you are working on. Those colors are delicious. I want to work on my Plum Street sampler with the dachshunds but it’s on a 36 count linen an I’m having so much trouble seeing it. I wear glasses with bifocals so am not sure if I can wear cheaters with a higher power - I’m going to try though. Thanks for the video!
Wonderful stitch along video!!! I also stitch in hand and love it!!!! I worked on Mary Betchel Sampler by The Scarlett House. Enjoyed watching how you stitch in hand and how fast you can do it, you are amazing. Stay safe and have a Happy 4th of July!!! Hugs, Lynn
WOW! I love how you stitch! You've given me some new things to try and hopefully my stitching will speed up. May I ask what needles you prefer? It looks like a petite but I was wondering what brand you like. Please don't wait too long to put out another Stitch With Me video...seems a lot of people like them. It was also nice to learn more about you through answering those questions. I hope to be watching you again soon!
I really enjoyed this Nicole.....for every 10 stitches I did, you did 30! Boy, you're fast! I too, love Outlander and have read the series 5 or 6 times and I listen to them as I walk the dog. I love the show too....might be something to do with Sam Heughan being the perfect Jamie and Caitriona Balfe being from my Emerald Isle! 💚☘
I'm about 2 days away from finishing Oh Joyous Day -- you stitch so fast you may catch up and finish before me :-). I changed mine such that I didn't do the over one words on top of the house -- put in a flower basket and bird instead and I actually really like how it turned out. I'm an Outlander fan too. If you like Outlander, you may enjoy Sara Donati's series (first book is Into the Wilderness). I think they are similar in style -- and Donati actually has one of Gabaldon's (very minor) characters in her books.
This was fun! I love Outlander as well. I've been reading and re reading the books from when Outlander was released almost 25 plus years ago. I watch the series too but like you,the books are just better! I wish Diana would finish up book 9 already! Lol Love the piece you were working on! I want to start mine as well but I want to finish up some WIPS first....😉♥️
I have watched a few stitch alongs and yours is the best so far. You are a very quick stitcher and on 35 ct that fast is amazing. I’m getting a bit older so now I don’t go over 32. What needle threader do you use?
Good to see how you stitch. Outlander are my favorite books too. Have read them many times and listened to the audio books. Not a fan of the show. Too many changes from the books and just couldn’t watch it anymore.
@Joyce Oquist I felt that way when I started watching it but then decided to view it for itself and not think about how it compared to the books. I've enjoyed it that way.
I use Bohin size 28 and my needle threader I use is this one... www.joann.com/needle-threader-tapestry-2-pkg/1034628.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwi_b3BRAGEiwAemPNUwjPjJ7gRfQ7YkSjvwJneQSeRpEXSfcURsU7RHCPhb3HC4YBP4ZW5BoCHwAQAvD_BwE

I’m listening to Outlander on audio books right now. You stitch so fast compared to me. Wow! You hold your hands differently, I’m going to try changing mine and see if I like how the floss lays. I enjoyed the chat while you stitched, thanks!
Such a wonderful surprise to have you do a SWM video, there's sadly been a shortage of them on Flosstube lately. I enjoyed every minute stitching with you and listening to your answers to those tags 😊 You are one fast stitcher - I, too, stitch in hand but I use the stabbing method or whatever it's called, lol. Thank you for doing this, another SWM video would be more than welcome!
Loved it , thanks Nicole your stitching is beautiful
That was thoroughly enjoyable! I have always had trouble trying to stitch in hand and this really helps me to watch you. I'd love to see how you hand going around a border. Love the tags and your chatting. be well and happy stitching.

Omg the sound of music is my favourite as well. I have seen it as a play in the 60s in Germany, have seen the places they were, hid behind the tombstone they did. My dad was military and we lived overseas from 63 to 69 so got to see lot of areas. And I haven’t seen many that stitch top right, I do. But even though i use the sewing method am no where near as fast! Really enjoyed watching you stitch...
A lot of fun to watch, thanks Nicole!
Your work is beautiful Nicole and I really enjoyed watching you stitch. I have only cross stitched on aida cloth as linens scare me. This video was so much fun to watch. Getting to know my favorite floss tubers through tags is always interesting. For example, I was born in flint, Michigan (a very very long time ago) and still live nearby in Fenton. Stitchin'n Things is my LNS. What needle do you prefer for stitching in hand? And what brAnd is your needle threader you used???!!!
I use Bohin size 28 and my needle threader I use is this one... www.joann.com/needle-threader-tapestry-2-pkg/1034628.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwi_b3BRAGEiwAemPNUwjPjJ7gRfQ7YkSjvwJneQSeRpEXSfcURsU7RHCPhb3HC4YBP4ZW5BoCHwAQAvD_BwE
You love all the same things I do! 😁 We’d get a long smashingly.

Yes, I usually stitch the entire border before I do the inside.
