Thanks very much for this Lightfoot masterpiece Sarah. Gordon is the reason I picked up a guitar and learned to play almost 50 years ago. My wife and I saw him and his band perform many times at venerable Massey Hall in Toronto and he was (and still is) our favourite singer/songwriter. The gift that Gordon had for incredibly heartfelt lyrics and hauntingly beautiful melodies has never been matched (IMHO), he was a true communicator. I still find it hard to speak of him in the past tense but like all great artists his unparalleled gift of music keeps on giving and for generations to come. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
I was so sad to hear of Gordon Lightfoot's passing away recently. Loved his music. One of the best songwriters & storytellers. He was a Canadian legend. My husband & I saw him in concert once. Some of his hits were "If You Could Read My Mind", "Early Morning Rain", "Steel Rail Blues", "Ribbon Of Darkness", "Carefree Highway", "Rainy Day People", "Cotton Jenny", "Black Day In July", "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" etc.
He had a great unique voice, great story teller and those harmonies and background music is amazing. No wonder his fellow Canadians are proud of him Thanks Gordon
Thank you for that very warm and heartfelt reaction and words for this legend.. my favorite song from Gordon lightfoot is if you could read my mind.. he is a another legend gone but never forgotten
He has such an amazing catalog of songs! If You Could Read My Mind is a great one, and the classic The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Great videos reaction videos. Enjoying your channel immensely!
I would love to hear you react to the song Shambala by Three Dog Night. The video where they perform it live in 1975 is the best performance, the title on youtube is Shambala (1975) - Three Dog Night. It was my father's favorite song. Thank you :)
Have you also listened to his first huge hit "If You Could Read My Mind" and also "Carefree Highway" (a road just about 20 miles from me north of Phoenix)?
God really Blessed Gordon Lightfoot with talent !!!
I really enjoy all your finds. I am 81 and you have reminded me of all the music I have heard and are enjoying now. You are a dear soul!
That jangley guitar and Gordons voice were so good together. RIP Brother.

BTW People would describe a person as feeling no pain when he/she had been drinking hard and therefore was feeling no pain.
I was just thinking that no one ever points this out.
This is one of my favorite angsty love songs. RIP, dear Gordon.
Thank you for another reaction to a great song by a Canadian treasure, Gordon Lightfoot (RIP). Best wishes to you,

Really nice tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, Sarah.
Great music, all these old songs you never get tired of listening to. Have you ever listened to Lucy Thomas?
No I haven't.
I react exactly the same way every time Gordon's self-harmonies hit... "OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhh!" A Canadian legend of whom we are very proud.
The one and only, RIP GL…😌👍🙏
