Ionization is one of my favorite ensembles, and therefore I love this solo. Excellent, excellent work.

Hands work perfectly. Feet too, but rhythmically a bit boring ... There would be more room for independent development! (Why not a clave pattern?)

Rhythmically this thing is fantastic. It's a lot of french rudiments and highly syncopated rhythms developing an iconic theme. The feet are relatively static because it gives the listener something to grab on to, keeps the composition uncluttered, and it's stylistic to the genre. A clave pattern likely wouldn't work given the language of the hands and wouldn't fit the style.

The ostanato in the feet serves as the glue that gives everything else the foundation to revolve around. I think does well to help the listener understand the phrasing.
