I could listen to this all day and night.
This is definitely on the soundtrack of my life.
I just listened to this again. Got it on vinyl too
Possibly the greatest live ensemble performance ever. What a massive sound! Far out the best recording of this piece.
+Ben Price I remember when that tune came out. I listened and then rolled a hashish joint and wow it was the best and still is today.
I remember reading a review of this album when it came out. The reviewer said he laughed out loud when he first heard Bernard Purdie do that brief drum solo ( at 0:59 ). He said he laughed because that funky bish-bish-bish sound that Purdie does at 1:04 was never heard before, and the reviewer instantly knew that drummers all over the place were going to start copying it. And the reviewer was right. I very soon heard that same special sound done over and over again by different drummers.
I was there; baddest conga solo ever
King Curtis and the Kingpins; the tightest rhythm section ever; just ask Aretha: back in the day Filmore West put on 4 shows starting on Thursday and ending on Sunday with the right reverend Ray Charles for an Encore. I lived in the city and went all 4 nights, Not bad for $7:50 general admission, so I spent $30 for a show that changed my life, Sweet Soul Music
Man I wish I had vinyl and a turntable, sounds so much better than the digital age music.
Isso sim é um legítimo funk😁
