Dr. Ravindra Gururaj Katoti is a leading Hindustani artist based in Bangalore. He has accompanied top ranking vocalists of the country including Dr. Gangubai Hangal, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, Pt. Rajan - Pt. Sajan Mishra, Begum Parveen Sultana and more.
Dr.Ravindra's Harmonium solo playing is marked by presentation in gayaki anga along with an elaborate exploration of the theme in lucid alap, brilliant layakari, and clear tanakari. Achieving volume control by manipulating bellows is prominently noticeable in his rendition.

is pedal tone (or whatever it is called...a drone?) the same all the time? i should have been able to hear it without asking but i was buzzing around, wasn't totally focused...was it the same drone all the time for 24 min and 35 sec?

I think there was no drone on. The accompanying player had Bass harmonium that made filling sound of tanpura cum drone. Combination of male with bass harmonium. Electronic tanpura sound in background

@@rahulsohani3973 yes, you are right...I heard tanpura distinctly at the start, cause there is nothing else for a second or two...but I thought that it is harmonium drone cause I don't see tanpura in the picture...thanks.
