I have a bad habit of waiting too long for book hauls too and then it’s overwhelming and exhausting 🫠 Some super pretty books in here! That Gollancz edition is so gorgeous 🤯 glad the broken binding are come out with their own set because Gollancz doesn’t ship to the US 😭

"Best Served Cold", "The Heroes" and "Red Country" are not a trilogy, but rather standalone novels in the world of the First Law. I haven't read the latter two yet, but "Best Served Cold" is my favorite book by Joe Abercrombie so far, among the best fantasy books I've ever read and the second best revenge story I've ever read (just a sliver behind Alexandre Dumas' "The Count of Monte Cristo").
All of these books look amazing! Thank you for showing them! You seem to own a lot of Broken Binding editions, which all look great. How do the gilding/embossing on their book covers and the painted edges fair against the test of reading and rereading? Are their bindings smyth sewn or glued perfect?
Thank you! :) I do as I'm part of the subscription and I get a book every month on top of the extras I buy hahah The ones I've read from have fared really well! Though for full disclosure I am much more careful than I would be with a mass market or paperback. The usual books in the shop/the sub book are glued, but the Press edtions (like the Of Blood and Fire edition I showed at the end) are smyth sewn :)
