I didn't know nigiri should be eaten upside down. But that makes perfect sense having the fish touch the tongue rather than the rice. Also good to know sushi may be eaten by hand. So much easier to maneuver that way. I learned a lot! 🍣
😄 Happy to hear that!. Often times, I end up eating it sideways, other than entirely upside down, just because it's easier 😂 but as long as the fish touches the tongue first, it's OK!
Thank you :) Clear and lighter beverages go well with sushi and tend not to overpower the taste of the fish, like sake and gin. Cocktails with citrus flavors like mojitos and gimlet also pair well, as lemon and lime are excellent pairings with fish, enhancing its flavors. Lighter Japanese beers, like Sapporo and Asahi can also be a good call, and beverages like Prosecco and Champagne can be good palate cleansers, especially after fattier fish like salmon and tuna. For wines, I'd tend to choose white wine, such as Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. I've seen people recommend Pinot Noir because it goes well with tuna and salmon, but it can overpower the other fish, so personally, I wouldn't pick it. Green tea is always an excellent call, excellent to have at the end too.
You could totally eat with a fork! I'd rather eat sushi with a fork, than not eat it at all! 😅🍣🍤🍱😋 You might miss the "enhanced flavor" part, which is the point of this video, but it'd still be delicious. Or you could eat with your hands too.

@@Somebody_Asked Thank you so much that's a great range to choose from.
you should select from the menu before washing your hands, not after
👍
You’re not supposed to shake the sushi or sashimi after dipping in shoyu.
That’s true! Personally, I do it on reflex, cause the shoyu stains are really difficult to deal with 😅 🙈
Use a fork, that gets em going...

Lightly cook it…
Cooked food is always better than raw food….
