Really love ur videos great to see some northeast ohio golf was just at Rawiga this week , if you get the chance you should play Chenoweth in Akron pure course and would be great to see a course vlog. I am one year in I’m hoping to start breaking 90’s these videos really help me pick up tips!
That is awesome to hear! I’m really glad you’re enjoying these! I think I played Chenoweth at some point, but I don’t remember too much about it. I’m very familiar with the west side of Akron, but rarely ever venture out to Green. That’s a good suggestion, though. I’ll put it in the “must play” box. Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for watching!
You've got me interested. Keep them coming. Low single digit= killer 100 yds and in. Find a good executive or par three course and play it and kill it!!
Excellent advice! My putting and chipping around the green has improved immensely - still a ways to go though. I def need to improve wedge approaches. Thanks for watching!
Ben thank you for the video. As you’re a far better golfer than I am, I’d be interested in your answer to this. Do you think that in early holes it is important to work yourself into the round? I’ve heard some people say that they will take less risks in the first 3 holes to start to build a score?
Interesting question. I’ve never thought about it like that. I’d say for me, it depends on the course. Sometimes the best scoring holes are early on and you may need to take a risk. But, if you’re someone with a two way miss, and you’re not sure which way you’re ball flight is favoring that round yet, maybe you should ease in. Maybe it also depends on if you’ve warmed up on a range before hand. Here is my official, definitive answer: if you haven’t warned up, and you’re not sure which way you’re miss is going, and if there isn’t a scorable hole you need to take advantage of, then ease on into your round. I think I’ll start using this philosophy in my own rounds. Thanks for the really good comment!
For my league play, I hit a small bucket of balls, but normally, I just stretch real good. The only way to get to scratch is to practice, that means hitting multiple balls from the same spot but changing how is good. However, practicing good habits like marking your ball correctly when on the green is good too. Maybe you could play "practice rounds" 2 a week, explain what you are working on in your game...and then once a week play a full legit game that you will score as part of your handicap determination. Thanks for answering my question. I just started playing golf 5 years ago at the age of 47. I am a 28 handicap. In the beginning I took lessons, practiced at the range 1 or 2 times a week and played 2 or 3 times a week (recently was divorced and kids are grown)...but the past 2 years I haven't done squat other than play. I am improving but it is slow going. Keep up the work in the game and keep up the videos. If you ever get to Toledo, let me know and we'll go play a round! LOL
That is an excellent plan. However, I usually only have time to play once per week. I need to find a way to get relevant practice at home. I need to hit into a net and/or foam balls in the yard. I have a decent sized yard - so I can pitch up to 120 yards. But you’re right. Practicing and playing more is key. I think once my youngest is in kindergarten, i may be able to get out twice a week. Thank you very much for watching and taking an interest in my game. I really appreciate it.
I think you need to value GIR over anything else. Figure out which direction your ball is generally turning on that day and just go with it. Anywhere on the green is better than trying to get up and down. Just stop going for flags unless inside 100 yards and see how your round plays out. On the course its all about managing the things that you can for sure control such as alignment.

As per previous comment, the new mic works a treat. Now, it is a really enjoyable viewing experience. Well done.
Nice video, looking forward to seeing how the grind to scratch golf goes
Thanks for watching!
Another great video Ben. Would you ever be willing to do a “what’s in the bag” video? Very interested to know what clubs you use
That is a great suggestion! I’ll absolutely put that together in the next few weeks. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
New mics work good. Sound is great!
Awesome! Thanks for watching. Sound has always been an issue, hopefully not anymore!

That’s good advice. I definitely need to play more strategically.
